    It just goes to show...
That some dealers tend to be rude to customers, especially those "high roller" type of dealers.

Were you told not to come back to the store before this last deal happened?
It's my understanding you were told you were not welcome and went back anyway.
    Is that true or not?

So quick to think he's a liar? Why? All I know is we heard one side, but I will not call that side a liar until the 2nd side and then the truth comes out. I have no reason to doubt coinkid until proven otherwise. You have condemmed him to life as a liar, without any proof. What is your connection with A-Coin?

This thread should have been done long ago, but people keep it alive and Coinkid is stuck trying to defend himself. Either get the second party here or let this drop.

I can picture some crabby ole guy answering the phone and saying "Yeah I told that kid not to come back before" Sure proves a lot to me.

Well if there is proof let it out. Play all your cards and let the cards read, a full house is still a full house, whether you show them all now or when the hands over. I am assuming, as was mentioned before, that this is all being done via PM?

I am not here to defend Coinkid, but from what facts I have read, your not treating him fairly. Now if there is more to the story, I would like to review that as well.

Coinkid said several days ago that he was going on vacation with his parents and may have very limited computer access. If he returns he's not hiding, if not then.....................

Ksteel you have made 46 posts, responsible for 15% of the posts!!

    1. You have repeatedly call him a liar, you now say you have proof yet do not offer it.

    2. You accused the board of harassing the owner over and over again.
-- When confronted about such harassment, you lie about the number of people from the board or the other board he posted it on that
    have "harassed" him.
-- Only one has asked the owner, seemed like an polite way of addressing it with the owner to get his side.

    3. The owner said nothing about what happened in the shop, but only said that some kid called and left a message with profanity?
That sounds suspicious to me, not saying anything about the incident in the shop. Didn't even say he didn't remember it b/c of being busy or anything else.

    4. You say someone should invite the owner to the board to give his side. When suggested you do what you say you skirt this question, another one.

    5. Even though Coinkid has answered questions, because he hasn't posted in a 6 hours to a day you accuse him of again lying because he hasn't been back to post.

Your actions are very strange and do tend to also make me think that you have some connection to the store.

Your at 46 posts and counting..

When are you going to drop it???.. I'm not. The kid is a liar and needs to admit it himself. He started the thread with a lie and needs to end it with admission of that lie.

As far as me having connections with that shop, get a farkin life. I'm in PA and the shop is in FL.

you now say you have proof yet do not offer it..proof came via a PM. If that person wants to step forward, more power to him.

Would you just please be quiet? You're obviously already on the dealer's side, so stop calling me a liar. I never had a big dispute with this store before. I have been unhappy with a few transactions, but I didn't let them know about it. In fact, the owner took my number down on one of my last visits because he was thinking he might have me go through some coins for him. So again, you can stop judging someone you don't know.

I HAVE FOUND IT. HERE IS THE BIG "TRUTH" THAT STEEL HAS BEEN HIDING.

"You were banned from buying at the coin store even before you went back and tried to buy again. You seem to have a habit of spending a lot of a dealers time looking at coins, telling the owner what's wrong with each one, and then not even buying anything. You wouldn't last very long at any coin store doing this stuff.

The above quote is from cointalk.

That is NOT true. I was not banned from that store before this event. If I was, I was never notified, and I was not notified for the 5 minutes I was looking around. And I honestly don't know what the hell you're talking about with the telling the owner whats wrong thing, because that's made up as well. I hope all of you will see through this guy's lies and see who's really telling the truth.

    -Paul

P.S. Something is fishy about steel. Why the heck would he follow me to another board just to call me a liar over there as well? Also, why would he falsify information to try to make me seem like I was at fault? Just a couple of questions to ponder....
  • paul i feel your pain. if you say anything outta of turn here, everyone hates. dont worry about it man, us younger collectors will soon have the game. nothing but time on our side....

Oh, and another thing. I ALWAYS find something to buy at a coin store. There's another store in Jacksonville that I go to, that, if worse comes to worse, I'll buy a hundred Mercs if I can't find a Morgan I need.....

  • Well, I just got through Friday's posts, and several people were going to call the coin shop today and get their side of it. Before I wade through today's volume, did anyone do that, and if so, what did the dealer say?
    Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

I've seen it a millon times in the past you've spent some bucks with them and get "special treatment" while a YN gets inorged. It's time you be quite and let the shop tell their side IMO.

  • Cape is the only one who has called and asked him.

December 22nd " Well , I just called and the person answering the phone told me that this young kid was on the phone leaving profanities on the answering machine. Coinkid , is this true? remember --TREAT PEOPLE HOW YOU WANT TO BE TREATED! I'm not trying to defend this CHIP PERSON AS HE TRULY SOUNDS LIKE AN ---HOLE. please tell us did you leave a nasty message and what did you say? You seem to have a habit of spending a lot of a dealers time looking at coins, telling the owner what's wrong with each one, and then not even buying anything.

So now we know exactly coinkid's buying habits?
Exactly how do we know this?

Besides, if I could find problems with each coin I looked at, I wouldn't buy any either!

Yes raw coin dealers seem to have a lot of "market accecpable" coin if you believe them. The simple fact is they will be BB by any good TPG. I deal with a dealer like this but every now and then he get some good stuff and is a heck of a bullion dealer when buying or selling. My advise is to look at the coin and put it back those dealers don't want to hear what they already know and it pisses them off. Of course the good stuff for the most part is cherry picked.
  • Coinkid855,

Pay no attention to sh!theader, he is just a person effected with the “little man syndrome” and likes to try and bully people while hiding behind his keyboard. He is a coward and deserves no attention to be given him. He may try to threaten you, but he is all mouth with no substance. Best thing to do is to ignore him and maybe he will slither away like the scum he is.

Your situation is not the first when he stated that he had proof of something but was unable to produce said proof. When sh!theader couldn’t win a verbal argument with Laura, he had to run to David Hall whining about being picked on. Sh!theader is two faced, will not admit when wrong and makes thing up, and can’t comprehend what the word “consistent” means. Sh!theader has even started an argument on one side and in the same thread took the opposite side of the argument without even realizing what he had done. Talk about a person being an “oxygen thief”, there must be a picture of Sh!theader in the dictionary next to that phase.

This is just my humble opinion image
  • This is why I don't go to coin shops. I don't have time to deal with jag offs.

  • So again, you can stop judging someone you don't know.

The whole point of this thread is to judge someone we don't know.

Everyone whoever collected or dealt in coins has a story that reflects on some negative aspect of human nature at one time or another.

    So what.

While I do not like to see anyone discouraged from collecting or dealing from such experiences, frankly I just don't think they should be posted here.

Otherwise we could all post a story. Now that would be boring.

Well that maybe good for many but I'd rather know the honest dealers and the dealers that should be approached with caution. I can tell you for what I've seen since the 70's the honest dealers are hard to come by and many are just in it to make a quick buck on the misinformed much like "Coin Valut". JMO

If have been collecting since the 1970's then you know who to deal with or not. YN will learn too, like we all did. Fact is all YN's get burned at some point by buying cleaned or overgraded coins. We have all been thru that. True? And rude people will always be in this hobby. So you live and learn and go on. I still say these stories should not be posted here. To much drama, not enough coins.

ok it's still acceptable to you, not me I'm a grown a** man, the shy kid is gone. Just because it happened to you and I doesn't mean that's the way it is and should be swept under the rug. Sorrry couldn't disagree more. This board is a mentoring site to prevent these common problems IMO.image
  • Alert the press. Collector treated like crap at B&M coin shop. This never happens. I can see why this was worth 300+ posts.image

Some of our fine board members have way too much time on their hands IMO.

And that's truly a shame, when they die they will wonder what happened to coin collecting. That's the way the pocket watch market is too and very few skilled enough to diagnose a watch and fix it. As I've moved up in life I've never forgoten my roots or stood up for someone even if not the popular one when they were right.
