NO! I am asking you, since you outright accused him of it.

Sorry, but it just isn't important enough for me to dig through thousands of threads - particularly in light of the fact that you seem to be just about the only person on the planet who's been around here for a while who doesn't already know he did it.
Russ, NCNE >>
I guess I will just have to take your word for it. I dont getting around to reading EVERY thread like you do.....Sorry

I've done more sneaky dirty tricks than you kids could even think up.
Man you can't make this stuff up. Torina what Russ has tried to tell you is the truth, I read the threads and like both Ken and Russ even though we get on each other on occasion so either believe it or not. No one owes you their time to do a search for you. Let me ask you a question, why do you so adamantly believe its not true?

Seen a lot worse on here, Ken is just in one of his moods, "I'm going to stir the place up and then defend it by saying I don't care what anyone thinks." We've seen it before.

Naw had my one glass of wine at dinner. My bride and I continue a three decade of tradition, staying home on New Year's Eve and enjoying each others company. It seems to have worked. Now back to the bride, have a Happy one.
Just a +1, I did not want to be the only board member who did not post in this thread...

Sure. Coinkid was treated badly at a local B&M and reported so here. Some took it upon themselves to rally the forum against the B&M and maybe even harass the B&M by phone. One or two doubted the veracity of Coinkid's account, which was later confirmed by an independent, unbiased party. The arguing parties (mostly) made amends. Overall, much ado about nothing...as usual.
I drove over to TDN's part of the country this weekend and missed the last few hundred replies - thanks for the summary.

I'd say coinkid has made himself pretty well known in the process.
Not that this was the way he wanted to do it.
Buck up guy, it happens to all of us, even the seasoned adults.
Many B&M shops are there just to rip off the unsuspecting and being rude to customers they don't think can do them any good is nothing new.
*Note, I am NOT including all B&M shops by any means. There are a lot of great shops and dealers.
You just ran afoul of one of the bad ones from what I've read here.
Personally, I love to hang around my favorite shop and just talk coins and life with some great guys.
OTOH, most of the shops here in town, you'd have to pay me to even walk in the door.
I can walk in with 50K in my checkbook and they treat me rudely, just like they do the YNs.
It's just the nature of coins and B&M shops. Trust me, it's a lot better overall than it was when I was kid/YN.
"Lenin is certainly right. There is no subtler or more severe means of overturning the existing basis of society(destroy capitalism) than to debauch the currency. The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and it does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose." John Marnard Keynes, The Economic Consequences of the Peace, 1920, page 235ff
I think the number of responses to this thread is because many of us had this type of experience as kids. I can remember going to the YMCA for a coin club meeting around 1972 when I was 10. I spent my paper route money buying a common date Walker for about 3x what it was worth. I remember how amazing the design of the coin looked to me. I also remember saying to the dealer "I'm a real sucker for these". He said with a wink "Me too kid".
The good news is that 35 years later I still appreciate the beauty of a Walker, and I'm still a coin collector. A few bad experiences haven't ruined it for me, and I'm sure they won't for you either.
I find it funny that it didn't occur to people that were calling for" the other side of the story" that we didn't get the other side because there was none. The B&M owner had plenty of time(over a week) to defend himself.

Allow me to rephrase this:
Overall, the numismatic significance of this thread is inversely proportional to the number of posts...as usual.
