Long story short, DrJ started flashing his $100 bill around trying to make bets whether Bill's Wilt Chamberlain will pass PSA/DNA quick opinion. Bill got the card in a lot of cards he purchased on the B/S/T and after doing some research and finding that a signed card from the same set didn't sell at $49.99, he listed it for $49.99 BIN o/b/o. DrJ got his panties in a bunch and created a defamatory thread about Bill and then started "making it rain" on the internet.

The *poof*ed thread could easily be in the all-time top ten in subtle, yet effective, complete train derailments.

Some of you know I am trying the similar thing.

    Jim Brown Quest

I am trying to get a Jim Brown rookie for my Pro Football HOF rookie set. Two new cards were added today.

    Sorry to hijack your thread.

Can't believe it's already been almost a year since I put this on the backburner.... more like the freezer, actually. Anyway, I think this would be as good a time as any to put it to rest for good, but I also think it's worth a half-assed, last-gasp, Hail-Mary effort to maybe get it going again. I'm throwing the '51 Bowman Spahn up for trade here one last time, and if I'm not able to put a deal together by next Sunday (Aug. 1), I'm going to auction it off on eBay straight away.... with half the proceeds going to charity and half going to my daughter's college fund.

And just so anyone new to the board and/or this thread doesn't have to sift through 59 pages of it to get caught up, if they care to, here's a link to a good synopsis.

And here's the VCP info on the Spahn in PSA 8...

    6/17/10 eBay $404.00
    2/2/10 eBay $338.00
    11/8/09 eBay $305.00
    7/17/09 Goodwin $465.30
    7/7/09 eBay $340.15
    5/10/09 eBay $350.00
    4/5/09 Memory Lane $502.90
    4/1/09 eBay $350.62
    3/26/09 Mile High $458.25
    9/21/08 eBay $306.00
    8/31/08 eBay $426.01
    8/19/08 eBay $475.00
    2/14/08 Mile High $465.30
    10/1/07 eBay $307.00
    5/24/07 eBay $335.85
    12/3/06 eBay $447.77
    11/16/05 Memory Lane $656.00

    imageimage

Anyone interested can PM me or email me at elemenopeo@gmail.com ... I'm open to considering ANY trade proposal, but I am inclined toward a card-for-card deal, preferably something vintage and with widespread appeal.

Edited... the VCP data I had up was for the '52 Bowman not the '51.

Realized after I got your offer that the VCP data I'd posted was for the '52 Bowman and not the '51. Correct data is there now. Just sent you an email to clarify.

That's actually a pretty snazzy card, for the year and for the grade.

Are you going to try and get a Bowman too... just cruise all the way up the 52 ladder? image
