You might want to look at those and weed out any that won't even make a 69.

I have a novice question to ask regarding grading.
I have one of each and am not sure I can tell 69 from 68. I thought
to mark on my submission to have a min. of 69 or return. Would this be advisable?

    Just an observation.

I used an image of my wife to draw attention to my eBay auction of a MW Proof. In a three day listing, I had 1104 hits. I saw seven day listings with 300 hits and three day listings with 99 hits. Just wanted to share the results of my experiment with the forum members.

If you don't mind my asking...how did you get 69 sets? Had friends order for you? Had orders delivered to other locations?

I plan to use pictures of fastrudy's wife to sell my coins as well. Do you have more pictures of her? image

I'd keep playing. I don't think the heavy stuff will be coming down for quite a while!

I asked him the same question & he indicated ."Purchased a lot on eBay when they were on Pre-Sale for $500 a shot."

Is it worth sending these in to get the first Strike label? I am new to coin collecting but I managed to get one of each from the mint. Only three have been delivered. Should I wait and send in five which will be after the first strike deadline? Or send in the three and pay for five coins to get the first strike label. Not sure what I should do to maximize the situation. Any ideas would be welcome. I plan on holding these and building the set but you never know when I will need to sell them.

Get the label...but it will cost u a little bid more for 3 coins...Express Special @ $50 per coin + $10 for FS ... ( No minimum # of coins) with postage & return postage it will run you about $70 per coin. "First Strike" designation demand a premium over non FS when it's time to sell.

image Is it worth sending in 3 coins ? I would call PCGS mon. to see if you can send in the less than 5 min. for 30.00 and 10 for FS.....Little while ago I sent in a package of orders and one order was 4 coins. Maybe if you do not make it a habit of it they may accept smaller orders once in awhile....Worth a shot to make the callimage ..................Regular is 30.00 Express is 50.00

Thanks for the advice. One more question. Should I open the mint boxes and just send the coins so I could keep the wood boxes and COA. Do these add any value when I go to sell them? Is it expected with the first strike label that you will not get the Mint packaging and COA? I hate to seem like a novice but I am new to the coin collecting / grading thing. I can tell what ever you want to know about cards and grading though.
  • Options
You want to give the boxes with the slabs when you sell the coins. Most people want the original packaging when buying.

You can send the coins in their capsules only prior to the First Strike deadline and still get the FS label. Once the deadline has passed (7/20 for these) then you must send them in the sealed boxes and the sealed boxes must have a ship date prior to the deadline.

If you send everything you can still request that PCGS send your packaging back to you. You will have to pay a fee for mailing it back.
I'd keep playing. I don't think the heavy stuff will be coming down for quite a while!

Well the dates on my order stopped moving about a week ago. I appears they've analyzed all of the orders and allocated production. My 12:55 order (1 of each) now shows the following:

MW Proof, backordered, to ship on 8-17
The other 3: backordered, to ship 9-4.

I just received two emails from the Mint. I had placed one order at 1:45 PM and one around 7:00 PM. The first order was for 2 of each Marthas and 2 of each Abigals.

The second order was for 1 of each (4 total).

Both emails (one was for the early order and the other for the late order) were to notify me that they expected the coins to ship on 8/2/04.
