NICE run of coins posted the past few days, guys! I still haven't photo'd my last group of newps from a show two weeks ago, but nothing as impressive as I've seen here on the thread today.
I doubt you went for the 1892-O Micro O in NGC 65...as you have a PCGS 63.
My guess...the 1915-S in PCGS MS 67 ...
I can't believe I stayed up until about 2:00 AM last night watching the auction live.
Two lots I was most interested in seeing their final sale amounts were the pair of NGC 58's, 1893-S & 1897-S...both lots were withdrawn !! So, basically, I stayed up for ziltch !!
The 1893-S in PCGS 63 caught my eye, but only to admire it - as I'm still thrilled with the 93-S that I bought from Brandon Johnson.
My NEWP's image is being resized and should be posted soon...

I stayed up until about 2ish watching the auction too, but fell asleep before my lots came up (seated dollars just had to be last, huh...). We went 1/2, the other one just went crazy.
Dr. Pete, if indeed you did pick up the 1915-S, congrats! That coin looks amazing!
Want to buy an auction catalog for the William Hesslein Sale (December 2, 1926). Thanks to all those who have helped us obtain the others!!!
Well, good guess guys, but if you check the No. 1 barber half set you will see that Steve Duckor picked off the 15-S in 67 and already has it listed. Interestingly, this two point upgrade to his set did not budge his overall gpa at all. That's how high-end his set is. The 15-S only carries a weight of 1 and despite its rarity in MS 67, it didn't add enough points to his overall set to move the average as calculated.
I did nail the micro O which I am confident will cross to PCGS MS 65 and hope it has a chance for MS 66. It is the most I've ever paid for any coin by at least a factor of two, and will be a terrific addition to my set. Keep tuned for the status of the coin. I am having the coin submitted right at Long Beach and hope for a quick and clean cross right away. That will also allow me to enter it into my registry set.
What a thrill to pick up such a wonder coin that is in the right grade to match the rest of my set. I will lose my MS 63 example as I am trading to Harry Laibstain to help fund my new purchase. Also he will be taking in a few other duplicates in trade. Check with Harry or watch his web site for further details.
Congratulations on the new Micro O; just don't consign your MS 63 to anyone until the NGC 65 crosses. With all the hype I've read here on the BB's or downgraded coins being given out by PCGS, I'd hold onto the PCGS 63.
Are you going to cross it as "Grade Cross @ 65 Only" or "Cross at Any Grade" ??? That's a VERY big gamble you've taken. I wish you well.
I'm basically thru trying to cross anything anymore...I have a few things that I hope to cross that are still in my collection but I'd be scared to death trying to cross that MS 65 Micro O...
Re: the 1915-S in PCGS 67, which is what I thought you'd have gone after, [ not realizing that Dr. Duckor was after it - as he has had his set blocked more often than open ] as it was already in a PCGS holder. Its also a POP - Two coin with none finer.
Again, my heartfelt congratulations. My condolences to your banker.

That '15-S looks like an amazing coin, congrats...
I had bids in on the '98-O Quarter, but was blown away in short order, $32,200., wow and amazing price but an equally amazing coin. I'm sure the new owner is very proud of winning that coin.

That was a sweet 98-O in the Dolly Holder... I'd didn't track it but am shocked at reading the hammer price as that's a few times more then I expected!

I don't consider an attempt at a crossover submission at MS 65 minimum to be a big gamble. If it doesn't cross it remains in the NGC 65 holder. However, at least two or three very savvy dealers are quite certain the coin will cross as at least a 65. I should know the results in a day or two.
Steve Duckor picked off the amazing 98-O quarter and has already crossed the NGC 66 1899 quarter to PCGS 66.
I was wondering who won the 1898-O quarter which I was bidding on. My maximum bid would have been a bad deposit on the net result of that sale. Knowing Steve is building a high grade set of quarters I kind of figured it might have been he who won that coin.
My most recent addition's image to my quarter set should be done soon and will post it then; I was able to add the image to my Registry Set; its also an 1899-P, but in a PCGS 65 holder. Even from the small image you can see it has alot going for it.
Best of luck with the cross over on your new Micro O; I hope you're requesting a TrueView image when they cross it.

another one on the way... love these VF-XF dirty ones, even with a spot or two on them. A quarter the price of the MS stuff ( I can afford them )and just as scarce (depending on the date), and beautiful! My favorite Morgans too have always been the circulated cameo toned dark ones too, like this one for example. Sucker for those. That 1898-O that sold on ebay is a nice piece.. but not mine unfortunately.
Here's one I found in one of the earlier pages that I really liked... nice toning
Just took this one for a local guy. Man it's original and no hairlines what-so-ever; plus it's a tough (and probably my favorite) date! Anyone wanna guess the grade based on my mediocre images?

I just picked up this coin from Rare Coins of New Hampshire. I'm pretty happy with it because it fits into my XF set, it has some nice color to it and the Population report from PCGS lists only 2 in XF grade.

I didn't post this in the thread yet so here it goes... this may be my new pocket piece once I crack it.
This rare Uncentered Broadstrike Mint Error Barber Half has had rough paper route NCS VG Details with some scratches in the field.
I was shocked to see one that has seen so much circulation prior to being plucked from pocket change.
I'm also kinda shocked that it wasn't melted during the silver craze of the 80's.
It's now officially the lowest grade coin I've ever owned under AU50... and I've named it the
The top of the reverse rim is seated 1/8" deeper into the holder then the pic show.
