That Briggs 8 is back on ebay now. Pretty sure it was the same one that just sold for around $15. Now it's up in the guys store for low price of $60 bin. He hypes up how a 9 sold for over $500, did one really sell for that much? But this is an 8 and pop is 29 I believe, maybe he will find a sucker who will drop $60 on it.
<< <i>Well, somebody wiped out a large number of 9s from 4SC at $6 BINs each.

That is not a bad deal, as long as the cards were nice looking, I did not go through them all, but if I did not like the eye appeal, I was skipping over them, plus I was focusing on some other cards at the moment. Not a bad way to get going on the set.
I cracked open an earlier graded GAI 7.5 1976 wax pack and pulled a couple of very gradeable cards that I'm sending in with my next sub. I've always liked this set and the rich green color on back.

I bought that card in 2004 for my Oliva Set. I recently decided to break it up. I believe one was on ebay a few months back and it went for 75.00. I was totally shocked when I saw what I got for that.

That is a great price, somebody wanted that card very bad, I will have to see who's set it ended up going in to. Makes me want to consider selling some of my lower pops from this set.
Man this Alextar101 is really bidding up some of these 76s, not sure if he is on the set registery though. That PSA 10 Chambliss is going for some big bucks.
it was mentioned somewhere on one of the previous pages that there was (or may have been) a variation of the '76 topps Reggie Jackson. curious if that is true or not... ?
<< <i>it was mentioned somewhere on one of the previous pages that there was (or may have been) a variation of the '76 topps Reggie Jackson. curious if that is true or not... ? >>
I have never heard of such a thing and I have never seen anything written that it is a true variation. I believe it is some type of printing flaw that might have occured such as light ink or something else.
1976 Folks...I was hoping to pick up a 1976 set that was in the fair to very good range...just a complete set to flip through to examine the cards closely. I am not worried about condition at all...I just want to have a closer look at the cards...in fact a near set would be fine with the key cards removed. Does anyone have such a set kicking around, to help out a collector?
Thanks!

I have a near set thats in pretty good shape. I pulled most all the OC cards and have replaced a good portion of them. I would guess the set would grade mostly 8-9 with a few 7's and 10's thrown in. Let me know. rjc012661@aol.com
Hi Fellow 1976 collectors....I am thinking of purchashing a near complete 1976 Topps baseball set, but it has the following cards missing...
#50 - Fred Lynn -- Boston Red Sox #99 - Lee Lacy -- Los Angeles Dodgers #128 - Ken Griffey -- Cincinnati Reds #150 - Steve Garvey -- Los Angeles Dodgers #192 - Carew/Lynn/Munson -- League Leaders #199 - Jones/Messer/Seaver -- League Leaders #205 - Gossage/Hrabosky -- League Leaders #240 - Pete Rose -- Cincinnati Reds #300 - Johnny Bench -- Cincinnati Reds #330 - Nolan Ryan -- California Angels #341 - Lou Gehrig AS -- All Time 1B #345 - Babe Ruth AS -- All Time OF #346 - Ty Cobb AS -- All Time OF #347 - Ted Williams AS -- All Time OF #415 - Vada Pinson -- Kansas City Royals #458 - Earl Williams -- Atlanta Braves #515 - Steve Yeager -- Los Angeles Dodgers #550 - Hank Aaron -- Milwaukee Brewers #606 - Alex Grammas -- Milwaukee Brewers #617 - Darold Knowles -- Chicago Cubs
Does anyone have these particular cards for sale...I am not looking for high quality, just these cards in any condition (fair-good is fine) to complete the set. Can you help me? Or give me an idea of what it would cost to get these to complete the set (again, low quality is fine).
Thanks! Gordon

I am looking for a 1976 Topps Cesar Geronimo and a 1976 Lee May card in PSA 8 or higher for both. If anyone can assist with either or both please PM me.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
I have at least 20+ PSA 9s that I am trying to sell, if you have any that you need, send me a PM with the numbers and I will look them up. Most are commons and semi-stars. No big star cards left.
Since the other thread seems to have disappeared, I will post my spam again.
Listed some PSA 9's and 10's on the bay. Have some more in 2 different orders at PSA right now that came from the same batch as the 10's. Linky dinky in my sigline.
I haven't seen this discussed elsewhere so forgive me if this is an old question, but I'd like to know what anybody knows about mismatched backs on 76s. This was the first pack of baseball cards I ever opened back in 1976 and over the next couple years as I would meet my buddies at the playground, in the woods and in their parents' dens to trade and compare collections (people actually did that back then!), I noticed that at least 50% of the 76s I owned had one player on the front and a different player, "upside down" on the rear. I'm not talking one or two, I'm talking hundreds of cards, with no rhyme or reason as far as I could tell.
I've never seen a card from a different year with a mismatched back so I don't know how common or rare this is. Also, are these more or less desirable than correct cards? Were there more mismatched backs on 76s than usual? We considered them illegitimate and threw them all away, but I've always been curious.
You have rarities there. I've had tons of 76s but no mismatched backs. Must've been a problem with the batch that was distributed in your area. They are not worth more, though. Maybe even less than the correct backs - mostly will only have value to player collectors or error/variation collectors. Star cards w/ wrong backs would sell.
I would trade you a psa 9 1976 topps # 375 for your psa 8 NL SB leaders with Lopes. I want the lopes for my player set, and figured a 9 for an 8 might be worth the hassle of you packing it up etc....
