In the circle photo , is the white slash above his pitching arm common for this card , or
are there cards without it ???
Copied from Wiki ......and I want to mention that Pierce has one of the biggest writeups
on Wiki of a ballplayer that I have read so far
"It's a gross oversight that Pierce hasn't received more serious Hall of Fame consideration," said Paul Ladewski, the longtime baseball writer and Hall of Fame voter with the Daily Southtown in Chicago. "The primary difference between Pierce and Whitey Ford was that one played with the Chicago White Sox and the other with the New York Yankees. Change teams and Pierce would have had a plaque in Cooperstown years ago. Only Warren Spahn, Robin Roberts and Early Wynn won more games in the 1950s, and all are in the Hall of Fame today."
Indeed, Pierce's credentials are comparable to many of the pitchers enshrined in Cooperstown. When he first became eligible in 1970, the BBWAA had elected only eight new members in 13 years, with Pierce being stuck in the voting behind such pitchers as Early Wynn, Bob Lemon, and Hal Newhouser (each of whom was eventually elected). In the next few years, other pitching stars such as Sandy Koufax, Robin Roberts, Warren Spahn, and Whitey Ford became eligible and likely drew votes away from Pierce. Pierce was dropped from the ballot after 1974. In discussing various criticisms of BBWAA voting over the years, Baseball Digest editor John Kuenster wrote in 2008, "The dissenters wonder, for example, how the writers can elect pitchers Whitey Ford (236–106), Jim Bunning (224–184) and Don Drysdale (209–166) to the hall of fame, while barely giving any recognition to Billy Pierce (211–169)".

Hi everyone, newly joined this forum and happy to have found you. Does anybody know where I can get a 1963 Topps baseball card inventory spreadsheet?
I don't want to reinvent the wheel if there is already one available.
Thanks
Last post February 16th........time to post some 63's
Here's a couple team cards I've purchased in the last
few months ! My card purchasing has come to a screaming
halt , as graded card prices now are insane on E-Bay !

Nice Dick Williams Don! Where could you have gotten that beauty from? I am listing a bunch of '63's on MySlabs in that quality and higher. Peeps that read this can get first dibs on them. Awesome cards! Trying to do ten or so a day when time permits. Prices are at eBay or even better and I have introduced Prime Example® (lol) to the slabs that I believe are best for that grade.

Thanks for the refresh..
I am on the way to Chicago now for a coin show, and have some free time ..so I wanted to see what is up with 1963 cards.
I am about 10 cards away from having a completer 8 set…have a few 8 plus,and maybe 3 9’s.
If this were coins,I would send in 500-600 8’s for reconsideration, and see how many upgrades I would get..but I don’t think cards work the same way.
I will go over to the buy sell forum, and see what I can find there.
Tnx

Hey thanks! Appreciate the kind words.
The green corners are touched just enough, IMO, to keep it from being an 8, and we all know how grading standards have changed. But the centering and lack of snow that always seems to find its way onto the Kaline background make this one special.
Tresh was the final 1963 World Series card I needed and Yanks Celebrate was
a upgrade from a 7 to a 8 ! So I now have the 1963 Topps World Series subset
complete ! Super hard to find nicely centered 8's of card #146 !

Any thoughts on values for these three? I really hate the way Heritage auctions close by individual lot. I prefer binge watching "That 70's Show" and waiting until early morning to bid on all my lots....I need to get my top-all's in with Heritage on these and would like to be sure I don't get outbid.
The one that I'm most worried about is #360 because I've had a hard time finding one with the clean red bottom border.

I noticed that too, I didn’t see any other examples with it...assumed it was scanner detritus.
I checked the Pierce card again and it is some paper debris inside the PSA holder....
