Look at murcerfan - he runs away and hides for 2 years when the Yankees choked away the 2004 World Series - preferring not to take the heat. At least all the other Yankee fans on the forum stuck around, congratulated the Red Sox, and continued to support their team. The very definition of a fair-weather, front running fan.

No more need for that stuff. We all can rest our crying eyes on our '04 win and handing the biggest loser choke session by your Yankees in the history of sports. Thank You
Whats really funny is Murcerfan is going to keep an eye on this thread all day instead of enjoying his saturday afternoon, in hoping to continue the banter.

my GOD .... its been generations man!
Anyway, it is obvious that the AL East will not be decided until the very end. Just like it should be I suppose ....
Hey Jerry, I would like you to elaborate a bit more on your story about howthe NY Yankees powers that be "did not plan" on what has happened to them thus far ????? I mean .... you know ..... the farm system is crap, the starting pitching is crap, etc, etc, etc, ..... just how does this compare to your can do no wrong Sox at this point? You know .... the golden farm system the Sox have, the very cautious way the Sox make moves, etc, etc, etc, .... WHATS UP MAN ????
Ok. Please can we just not allow Wells another start, he is just not helping us. The last freaking thing we need is to get into a shootout with the Tribe.

Actually, despite the 8 runs, I thought his stuff was not too bad. If he got that 3rd strike call in the 5th, he leaves with a 6-5 lead and gets the win. I consider this his "rehab" start and should do better next start. I won't write him off yet.
Snyder was outstanding in keeping the Sox in the game -- very encouraging.
Wells is a gamer and I miss him on the Yanks. As far as I'm concerned, you are welcome to let him go and send him to NY Maybe his days are over, maybe not....but I wouldnt count him just yet. He may still make a difference.

Well what do you have in mind? All Im saying is his bat wont be missed as much as his D, Mirabelli is not that tuff of a hit to fill in, unless you got a better idea.......
Hooray for Papi! no wait a second.....Hooray for Manny! er hold on..............MARK LORRETA IS THE MAN!!!!!
HUGE comeback win last night. Anyone else yelling at the television last night for Francona to walk Hafner? I certainly was, 1st was open with 1-out. I thought for sure that would have been the call but whatever we won anyways.
While I am not surprised he did not walk Hafner - I am surprised he did not go to Papelbon in that situation.
Francona has come out on top quite a bit lately. The decision to not bunt Loretta on Monday was big and last night he let Mirabelli and Gonzo hit in the ninth.
Aside from my disbelief that Hafner should have been pitched to, the biggest question I have is why Eric Wedge let that kid stay in there? He had zero control and was completley out of rythim. All in all Im not happy about the pitching getting racked but I will take the wins.
We really need to address the starting pitching, I hope its not too late......
Does he have to clear waivers first? I guess if so, then being in second place to the Yankees is a good thing, so the Yankees can't block the Sox by claiming Lopez first.
My wife is a Javier Lopez fan, I hope it works out.
Beckett is puzzling. You watch him blow away guys with 97 mile an hour heat, and than give up a 400 foot shot. It cannot be all about his location. I thought his change and breaking ball were pretty decent tonight. He coasted through the first 5 innings and than gave up 7 straight hits in the sixth. Very puzzling.

We have the same deal watching Farnsworth. The guy routinely hits 99 on the gun yet gets smacked around.
