Seems like you get less yellow in the Walls when the green rectangle is applied somewhat tilted, causing the bottom right corner to rotate counterclockwise….
Nice cards Canes , and congrats on reaching the halfway mark on this set !
Thought I would add a interesting note copied from Wiki about Don Lee ......
On September 2, 1960, Lee surrendered a home run to Ted Williams in the first game of a doubleheader between the Senators and Boston Red Sox. 21 years before, in his rookie season, Williams hit a home run off Don's father Thornton Lee, then with the Chicago White Sox, on September 17, 1939. With this feat, Williams became the only player in major league history to hit home runs against a father and son.
In a nine-season career, Lee posted a 40–44 record with 467 strikeouts, a 3.61 ERA, 11 saves, and 828+1⁄3 innings in 244 games played (97 as a starter).

Great thread... this provided enough motivation for me to look at my '59 set. Slightly under 100 different raw cards ... not sure which would be the best mainly because condition so often dictates value. Sadly... we have quite a road ahead...
And I never noticed the spelling on the '59 Cuellar - was the entire issue Cueller?
I looked at mine and it is Cueller...

Which ones are tougher to find, the white back or gray backs? Based on my limited exposure to the set, it seems the gray backs are tougher. What say you all?

Thank you Robby! That is a cool story about father and son Lee with Ted Williams homering off both of them.

Nice card. I have only six 9s, and 19 8.5s in 59. I’m through upgrading.
My favorite player to collect on a pretty example of his 1959 base card, number ten:

Thank you kindly!!! It’s a really beautiful card, well centered and the snow isn’t too distracting as it mostly avoids Mickey entirely.

I think they are about equal. Some in High grade may be tougher. Maris, in gray has been tough for me.
Thanks for the feedback
Overall, I think gray backs are tougher and with some cards, gray backs hardly ever surface…..Bobby Shantz is a great example.

Yes, Shantz it tough.
The 59 thread should never make it to page 2. Two more for the set.
