<< <i>He states there is only 99 of those made. Assuming 9500-10000 cases of Heritage & given the odds for group A CC cards, there is more like 500 +. I sold the Mantle bat/Arod jersey dual relic which IS numbered for $197. WTF? >>

Dave, that claim of 99 made was factual. This article was posted on the Beckett site on 3/9/06. After it was published, there was definitely a price boost throughout the Group A's, but that Mantle price was more than double what any of the others had sold for. There's another up at the moment that has hit the opening $200 bid, so we'll see what happens.

It seems like the idiots over at beckett can't do anything right. They came out and said that there were between 200-500 Full version Alex
Gordon cards out of topps series 1...well that card which originally sold for around 500, is now over 3000!!! I think the cut out out of heritage
is around 150 now....could it be 500 bucks soon?

Huh, go figure. After the belief that the Mathews doesn't exist, they're popping out of the woodwork everywhere. I found a guy on The Bench that has one on his "it's gonna take a lot for me to trade this" list (which he doesn't wanna trade to me at the moment), then this one shows up. Weird. Mine will hopefully show up tomorrow. Scans to come.

  • I'm joining way way late this year because I am picking up packs a few at a time. I have a couple of Refractor questions though and I apologize if they have already been covered but:

1.) I have a #30 Roger Clemens Refractor without the word "Refractor" printed under the card # on the back. Is this an uncorrected error or was this fixed by Topps? Does anyone else have one that appears that way also?

2). According to the checklist at Topps.com, Refractor #105 is Stephen Drew of the Arizona Diamondbacks but my #105 is Anderson Mejia Hernandez of the NY Mets. Not sure what happened here either.

Again, thanks for your help and sorry if this is old news. image

Scott - looks like all the Clemens refractors are missing the refractor designation. Everyone I've talked to has the same thing.

The topps.com checklist isn't anywhere near accurate. You'll find the correct one at beckett.com - use their "My Collections" tool to get it.

  • Speaking of the 2006 Topps Heritage Alex Gordon cut out card, I have noticed that right now on EBay there are 4 2006 Topps #297 Alex Gordon FULL cards available for bidding right now and guess how many 2006 Topps Heritage Alex Gordon cut out cards are available????????

ONLY 1!!! And currently it is over $160!!

    Craig in Texas
  • I hit the 54.99 BIN on March 6th for the Gordon and on the same day I hit the BIN a Musial seat card for 34.99.
Whoever said we wash away with the rain ?
  • I was laughed at for buying mine for $120 a couple of months ago. Seems like to me that there are a lot less of these than originally anticipated.

    Craig in Texas
  • Has Topps released the number of cut Gordons that made into circulation?
Whoever said we wash away with the rain ?
  • I have not heard of a definite number but it is possible that Topps has no idea.

  • TNP777TNP777 Posts: 5,710 ✭✭✭
olbermann already has three of them, including one he bought as part of a complete master set.

    Master set w/ Gordon - $416.77
    Single card #1 - $147.50
    Single card #2 - $140.00

Guess I'll be holding off on this card until the furor dies down. If it doesn't, I'm not gonna stress out.

Speaking of getting shut out, since I picked up the rare '01 Mathews, the other one that came up went for over $70 - I ended up with a bargain there. Since then, the Vina and Ashburn also came up. I lost out on both: Beckett has the Vina at $40 - it went for $63.50, while the Ashburn ($50) went for $65.65. Nuts! They'll come up again, but it would have been nice to pin them down.

  • Thanks to who ever listed the address for returning damaged cards to Topps for replacement.
I bought two Blaster boxs at Wallyworld and every card had the same damage to the lower right corner(from the cutter?).
I sent approx. 100 cards to the Topps address and they replaced them in 10 days time with some really sharp cornered cards and out of the 100 I recieved 14 short prints.
Excellent customer service if you ask me.

Dan - there's a variation for all five checklists. Lemme check around.

edit: ah yes, here it is: one has #394 Rich Hill designated as a RC, the other doesn't. LMK which one you need and I'll get it out to you - seeing that I've got a zillion #3s that the RC designation, and only one extra that doesn't, I'm guessing that the no-RC is the retail.

Any chance anyone is still trading?

I haven't done much lately with my cards due to lack of funds, but still need about 10 sp's to complete the set. I've got a few sp's, chromes, flashbacks, t&n, etc.

    Anyone still need anything/trading?

  • softparade: I have the following chromes that you need 27, 39, 45, 50, 51, 63, 74, 76, 79, 80, 81 and 100. I could trade you those cards for some raw 1978 Topps commons I need for my raw set (I am missing one common and need several others as upgrades due to centering). If interested, please let me know.

  • Shawn: I have a lot of extra cards. I need around 15 SPs and NAP (Ichiro). Do you have a list of the cards you need and want?

I have a lot of cards you need. I have 43 chromes, 1 refractor and 5 SPs from your list. I need SPs 343, 347 and 350 and CC-JF from your list. Do you have any extra Heritage or Reggie Jackson GU or autos from prior years?

Hey guys - what's crackin? Just thought I'd poke my head in every once in a while. Hope everyone is doing ok - I still have a ton of extras from 06.

    JS-
I have some extra real ones I could trade for some blacks if you're interested. I also have an extra common black from 04 (Tony Batista) I could swap out for one of your blacks and throw a few SPs in.

    uyu-
I can use your Charley Thompson auto and your Pujols Chrome #107. Check my page to see what you can use of mine (www.freewebs.com/mudflap02)

I'm always looking for 01 and 02 Heritage chromes I need, as well as real one autos and black refractors from any year.
  • I have an question for all of you who keep your Heritage set in a binder. What order do you put the insert sets in? Do you go by the order on the checklists or alphabetical or whatever else?
