<< <i>Yes, I bought those two already slabbed. I paid less than the price of authenticating them so I figured why not. i am building up quite a nest of raw TTM's, I will have to send some in soon. Anyone trade many auto's ?? >>

Nice win on the Nominelli...very sweet card. I have a ton of auto'd cards to trade or outright sell. Are you going to collect the Heisman Auto set? It should be up an running by the end of the year.

I wasn't planning on doing the Heisman set,But, I may do one of the all time Qb,Rb, or Wr sets.
If you or anyone has any autos on vintage cards like the Nomellini above I would definitely be interested.

  • I would probably take just about any HOF'er on a "Playing Days" card. I have Payton,Bradshaw,Butkus,Nomellini,Marchetti, Bilietnikoff, Fouts, Krause, Tom Mack, Dierdorf, Dave Wilcox, Chuck Bednarik, Steve Largent, Joe DeLamielleure, Ken Houston, Ernie Stautner, Bob lilly, andy robustelli, charlie joiner, joe montana, george blanda and a lot of stars not in the hall. (Stabler,Blier,Kilmer,Kiick Etc,etc.)
I have two or three signed index cards that I sent TTM that I just meant to sandwhich the cards in between for protection that got signed too. I really dont have much interest in the index cards so if someone wanted to trade for those it would be cool.

Reese - I haven't entered any cards in the registry for several months...so I can't help unfortunately.

Did anyone buy a Marshall Goldberg auto'd 1948 Bowman card? I just talked to a seller who recently sold one for $89. I can't figure it out because I look 5 times a day and haven't seen an auto'd Goldberg trading card yet.

I recently got this back from PSA/DNA. It has been signed by HOF football coach George Allen. This is the first time I've seen a PSA/DNA card without the name of the person that signed it on the flip. I have looked at other team and superbowl cards, and they always have the name of person that signed it. Is this a mistake? Should I send it back?

    Thanks!

I've been watching it. The signature is cut off so bad though, plus its a poor Neale signature anyway. Must have been signed later in his life. Your Neale might have the nicest signature I have ever seen. I need one to add to my registry set, but I think I will wait for a better one.

    Short rant.

I sent 2 cards to Art Modell to sign at the end of August. On Monday, I received an envelope in the mail and my wife said that the cards came back unsigned...and I was dejected. I came home and realized that the cards were signed...but the sigs are somewhat hard to see:

    image

The sign looks a little bolder in the scan that it appears in person. What really gauls me is that I sent a BRAND NEW BLUE SHARPIE with the cards....so I have no f'ing idea why Art couldn't sign the cards w/ the new Sharpie rather than an cruddy, fading marker. I'm very dissapointed to say the least. I'm thinking of resending other cards but will likely wait a few months.

Nice pick up on the Goldberg. It does kinda look like a stamp on the Modell. If not are you that shocked that he would keep your new sharipe and use a cheap crappy one. Kinda fits his MO.

  • Hi Jay. I'm sorry. I didn't know you were the under bidder. Although the sig is not perfectly centered and the last letter is covered. It is clear and crisp. I saw the one Greg got a few months ago and figured this would go for similar money.
Is this the first cut sig card for "Greasy" Neale? what other cut sigs are in this product?

    Frank,

There is also a Greasy Neale Canton Cuts that was in a Topps product a couple of years ago (not sure which one). I believe it was also a 1/1. Therefore, you have 1 of 3 Greasy Neale auto'd cards that I've seen.

Thorpe would be impossible. I believe there is a collector who pays outrageous prices for every cut Thorpe autograph that has been produced. You're probably looking at $5k to $8.....

I've been talking ebay seller that has 06 National Treasures Jim Thorpe #/3 auto. He wants to get between $6000-$7000., so its not impossible. I couldn't spend that much on a card though.

Also, he has a 99 UD Century Legends Norm Van Brocklin 1/1. Does anyone have an idea of what this would sell for. I told him probably between $500-1000, but I am really unfamilair with this issue. What do you guys think?

    Reese,

I would LOVE the Thorpe....but $5k to $7k is well beyond my means. I think that you're in the general ballpark w/ the Van Brocklin. A Van Brocklin auto on a gum card is approx. $150 to $200 and a cut would be at least $500. I didn't know that cut autographs were issued in the 1999 Century Legends set.
