I just sent in the following 61 84 Donruss cards to PSA for grading as part of a VERY large submission. Not sure how long it will take to get them back but they looked really nice to me. They also included several cards on Arny's list (which some time ago I offered to give Arny raw). When they come back graded I think he will be kicking himself.

Hi everyone....sorry about only one 78 Topps....but the Dawson card was one I had sitting around that I thought was in great shape so I threw it in with the Donruss I submitted....the same with the 64 Topps football card that was in the submission......

I checked out your store Arny. I like the way you have set it up very much. Very easy to read and easy to navigate. Unfortunately, you don't have the cards (84 Donruss) I am looking for. I kind of hooked on the 84 Donruss set now too.

I've actually sold a few more of the '84 Donruss cards and they are my hottest sellers right now with 6 out of the last 8 cards that I've sold (all different buyers!). So, I can see that our set is definitely attracting new faces.

Cool card Al. It could be relevant - if Griffey were born 5 or 6 year earlier he may have made the 84D set.
BTW, does anybody know were the psa 10 Fitzgerald is? It popped up about a month ago and thought for sure I would see it for sale or in somebody's set.
Congrats on the modern hockey set award! I reviewed your set the other day and it is quite impressive. glad to see a fellow 84D guy get some major league kudos (or should I say hat trick kudos!)
Here's a sub I got back last week. Quite pleased, especially the psa 10 1/1's - several are THE toughest cards period in 84D - Chambliss, Whitt, Swan, Lansford, Anderson, etc. Even trying to find these in 9 will make you pull your hair out. Some of my extra's are slated for an upcoming trade with a fellow 84D collector and the remainder will probably go into my ebay store that I'll open this summer.
Just an amazing submission. I have busted about 8 boxes plus a couple of sets and the centering on what I have found is not even close to what you show in your scans. I was beginning to wonder if some of them really existed and the only way to get centered cards would be to print your own. Thank you very much for the scans. My keyboard is getting wet from my drooling, though.

I second that observation, Mike! The Carter photograph has great eye appeal!
Makes me want to go through my two raw sets and 800-count box of doubles looking for more gems like these! Hopefully I won't be tempted to open the two wax boxes just yet. I love this set...
Seeing those and the grades pushed me over the edge to open my unopened factory set bricks. I found some nice quality cards with ok centering, the Carter was 65/35, might draw an '8' from PSA. I need to check the pop reports to see what are the difficult cards to find in high grade. I'd love to have a graded set of 84 Donruss. With the $5.00 special going on, it'd cost close to $4,000 to send in the cards. A bit too risky for my blood. Any suggestions?
Great work on all the cards Bill, I know the Carter will probably find it's way to your great set but in case you do try and sell it here's an ebay number to look up: 8827258947. It's a PSA 10 Carter that sold last night....and I think the one you have puts it to shame.....again great work and another excellent card......Also don't know if any of the fellow 84Donruss'ers have seen the show Pimp My Ride....but I want Bill to Pimp My 84 Donruss Set!!! Once completed, it could actually top Bill (dare I say! ) with a couple more 10s...that is, until he drops a couple more submissions like he did recently!
Edited: After Bill has added his 10s, he's put his set at 9.33 overall and mine is at 9.34 on the Master set and on the basic he's up to 9.34 and I'm only slightly ahead at 9.36! Doh!

Weekend - Strategy? Keep the best raw you can find in a binder and maybe pick up a psa starter set or lot of commons, etc. Ebay stores is a good choice too. Also, there's nothing wrong with keeping the best of the best in a binder. Along with my registry set, I also have a raw partial set that would not 9 or 10 on every card, but from a viewing standpoint is absolutely dynamite.........and really isn't 'viewing' what its all about?!?!
Jackstraw - Those 'other' 84D cards are SWEET! I wish I knew more about all those 'anniversary' like cards but can't even find out much about the 1994 (10 year) issues.
Al - Saw the Carter and figured kkpkrk would get it. He didn't even bid (maybe on vacation or something) but it still brought $400. We'll talk when you get back.
Arny - keep lookin' over your shoulder as there's more to come! Some of the 9's are spoken for - I'll let you know later what is available. Don't forget your DK Steele Schmidt and checklist carry quite a bit of clout with me............
Got my recent submission back from PSA. Although it wasn't quite as impressive as Bill's last submission I did pull two tens. Here they are. I'll post a separate message with the rest of the submission...didn't do too well on the DK's I submitted but that seems to be a common occurrence!!!
Thanks Arny. I agree with you about the DK's. For some reason I just don't have the eye to pick them. I'm better off just buying them when I can. Luckily I do have a number of them already and the one I just got as a 10 will help.

Weekend - Strategy? Keep the best raw you can find in a binder and maybe pick up a psa starter set or lot of commons, etc. Ebay stores is a good choice too. Also, there's nothing wrong with keeping the best of the best in a binder. Along with my registry set, I also have a raw partial set that would not 9 or 10 on every card, but from a viewing standpoint is absolutely dynamite.........and really isn't 'viewing' what its all about?!?!
Jackstraw - Those 'other' 84D cards are SWEET! I wish I knew more about all those 'anniversary' like cards but can't even find out much about the 1994 (10 year) issues.
