Running at Jones and company is a little different than running at those other NFC East teams.
Buffalo was likely the best chance to beat them. Other than Mahomes brother the Chiefs are the more likable team overall. The Kelce brothers being in everything got old months ago but both teams are impacted by is and Jason is the one that's more over saturated now. Having 2 of the last 3 SBs being Chiefs Eagles isnt exactly ideal either for anyone but their fan bases.
they have a senile owner who doubles as one of the worst GMs in football, they possess very little talent as currently constructed, they just hired a guy who has had a million different jobs, has no HC experience and was on no one's radar but theirs, and perhaps the best of all...........today they hired mr. let-the-clock-run-down-to-zero-with-a-timeout-in-our-hip-pocket himself, Matt Eberflus 😅
It still irritates me that the Cowboys beat my Broncos in the 1978 Superbowl (46 years ago).
You would think that I have gotten over that loss,..................................... but it still gets me mad every time I think about it. I know it is petty, but seeing the Cowboys as they are today under JJ's ownership warms my heart.
A battle between Kansas City and Philadelphia. Two noble cities. Whether you’re visiting the beautiful South Blue Valley or exploring the nightlife of Strawberry Mansion it’s going to engage all your senses. I think they both deserve this win.
Understood, however do you believe that a Failed Season is the same as a Major Collapse?
My recent posts to this thread evidence my curiosity as to what forumites consider to a a Major Collapse.
If failing to win a Superbowl by K.C. currently, or by New England of prior years is a Major Collapse, what then would be considered a Minor Collapse?; or even just a Collapse?
For me, I think that if KC does not win the upcoming Superbowl that would mean the season is a disappointment to K.C. fans (whose expectation and hope is a threepeat).
For me I think that the 2024 fall of the S.F. 49rs from playing in and almost winning the Superbowl a year ago to having a 2024 record of 6-11 (good for last place in the NFC West) and not making the playoffs is an example of a Major Collapse (49rs fans expected and hope that S.F. would return to the Superbowl and win it this year).
Speaking only for myself, every time the Patriots lost a SB, I considered it a Major Collapse. 2007, MAJOR collapse, and that team had an undefeated regular season.
i have half a mind to create a theme song for this thread. I will start with the song big in japan from alphaville.
so far i've only got around to swapping in major collapse for the title

Stevek since the season is finally almost over and you’ve made around 2,500 jokes about Taylor Swift it probably wouldn’t hurt you to know that not even one of them was funny. A person would actually think the theme has played itself out long ago but you just keep banging your head against the wall. 🤔

The game might be up for the Vikings surprise quarterback. He didn’t look good at all at the end of the playoff season. The Pittsburgh Steelers need a reset too.

It's now tied 11-11. You could be the tiebreaker.
You could always bet on the PUPPY BOWL.
If Kansas City goes way ahead early, the Puppy Bowl would be more entertaining. I don’t want to watch 25 reruns of Taylor Swift jumping up and down and kissing her future mother in law. Reruns of “Gillian’s Island” would be more entertaining.

I am assuming that even with the bad game at Detroit (I didn't think he played that bad against LA) Darnold is going to get an offer bigger than the Vikings will match.
They'll either go with Daniel Jones on a team friendly one year deal, or go all in on J.J. McCarthy.
Jones would be my choice, but the Vikings also need to find out if McCarthy is going to be any good while he's on his rookie contract.

I'll probably be watching my usual Sunday westerns. Maybe text my brother asking him the score every half hour or hour. Just to bug and distract him from the game.

This guy could be like Curt Cousins. I always thought that he is a second rate quarterback who could get you to a .500 + season, but never take you to the promised land. That proved to be true for Atlanta this season.

Yes, watching the Sunday westerns or a nice movie on a DVD would be much better than being subjected to Taylor Swift jumping up and down. She’ll get more coverage that Patrick Mahomes at the end of the game.

My recent posts to this thread evidence my curiosity as to what forumites consider to a a Major Collapse.
How about "America's Team" winning three out of four Super Bowls in the 90s...and not even having ONE "Final Four" (never mind a Super Bowl) appearance since (now almost 30 years)? Or in MLB's case, the Buccaneers winning three straight division titles in the early 90s and just BARELY missing the World Series the last two of those years...and the next 20 years after that not even having ONE winning season?

Glory is always fleeting.
Sometimes glory lasts for quite a while as in the case of the Belichick/Brady era in New England. But it always eventually ends. The way of the world.
Lots of wear and tear on those knees, shoulders, and other body parts for the Chiefs players from all the extra games they've been playing in the post seasons due to their success. I thought it would catch up to them this season, but they've proved otherwise by getting to the Super Bowl again.
But Andy Reid is an "old" 67 years of age. Just look at his fat body for much of his life. While Mahomes as well as any NFL player, is always just one play away from a crippling injury.
Even if the Chiefs lose on Sunday, their fans can still be proud of the winning seasons and multiple rings they've had recently.
Hats off to the Chiefs and their great fans on an excellent season. This loss takes nothing away from them being the premier team in recent NFL history.
The Chiefs will of course be back next season, still a force to be reckoned with. As long as Patrick Mahomes, already a first ballot hall of fame quarterback, remains healthy, the Chiefs always have a competitive chance to win.
It only took 20 games for the @stevek major collapse to take place, but it happened. KC was dominated by a defense that came to play and the Chiefs offense looked about as flat as the bald tires on my pickup truck!!!
I don’t want to jinx things, but reality has come home to Kansas City. They ran out of horseshoes.

Congratulation Stevek. your team dominated and deserved the win, and your prediction finally came true. you took a lot of abuse throughout the season, but the Chiefs did complete the major collapse, it just took them to the final game to do so.

Yeah.
What happened to the Eagles a year ago is definitely a collapse.
ask any Cowboys fan
they have officially collapsed

I'm not sure what town he comes from, but it must be an extraordinarily great town to produce a Kevin Hart.

Yeah…… Steve we’ve all seen way too many of your posts to actually have to ask how…

Rumor has it that the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show will consist of Taylor and Travis in a marriage ceremony.
Chiefs fans are giddy with excitement.

hey D....
Hy-Vee time...
Let's Kick Some Some Ass On The Grid-Iron...🏈🏈🏈
most important & last game and it's a first half collapse
anyone predict this?
I predicted 24 for Philly, if KC scores 14 and shuts down the Eagles I'll look like a savant!!
Hats off to the Chiefs and their great fans on an excellent season. This loss takes nothing away from them being the premier team in recent NFL history.

it is currently 34-0 late in the 3rd. chiefs have yet to cross mid field. In my opinion this is the definition of a major collapse.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Was hoping for a more competitive game.
It only took 20 games for the @stevek major collapse to take place, but it happened. KC was dominated by a defense that came to play and the Chiefs offense looked about as flat as the bald tires on my pickup truck!!!
R-E-S-P-E-C-T is all the Chiefs are playing for now.
I don’t want to jinx things, but reality has come home to Kansas City. They ran out of horseshoes.
This game gave me a sense of Dejavue. It took me back to the Denver blowout losses to Washington, SF and Seattle.
Philly dominated.
Congratulation Stevek. your team dominated and deserved the win, and your prediction finally came true. you took a lot of abuse throughout the season, but the Chiefs did complete the major collapse, it just took them to the final game to do so.
you were right all along
