An old phrase goes play your best football at the end of the season, don’t peak early.
Anyway the Chiefs were 11-5 during the regular season last year, didn’t get a bye and went 4-0 in the playoffs.
I’ll kind of miss that this year when they only go 3-0 in the playoffs. Mahomes could catch Brady faster in playoff wins if it was 4-0 every year.

But I’ll take it…: 3-0, 4-0 it’s still a SB win same old song, different verse.

Haha I got a few friends that are heavy hitters, you should see some of our card games.

A separate group of friends won't play if these guys are there lol

One of my buddies had to get escorted out of the local casino one night, he was there by himself and he was playing 1/2 for hours and built up his chips to over 2k, he got into a hand late night and it went around and this guy pushed all in on a pre flop pot that had a couple hundred bucks in it, the guy had AA and my buddy called a 1400 dollar all in push with 9/10 and he caught a straight and buried this guy.

The guy and his friends were going to kill him lol

He is the guy that I'll let you know about it we stake him, he is the most lucky gambler I've ever seen

I really hope it comes down to KC vs Buffalo for the AFC championship again, that game will be epic if it happens

You probably already know this. A hand such as 9/10 suited isn't a "terrible" hand to go against AA. Around 33% equity I think, but by no means hopeless. That being said, the way the hand was played, I know I wouldn't have had the stones to call with that hand for 1400. LOL

Interesting that the "mighty" Chiefs are only a 4.5 point favorite against the 3-10 Cleveland Browns.

Maybe the bookies are figuring the extraordinary good luck that the Chiefs have had this season, is about to run out? We shall see on Sunday.

I certainly don't expect Cleveland to win but this is what we used to refer to as a "trap" game, a heavy favorite playing on the road against a team with problems that is still a capable opponent.

I know you don’t know anything about the chiefs as an actual team, but they haven’t had anyone all year at left tackle that can protect Mahomes blind side. Now the new guy they brought in is injured. It’s gotten so bad that a lot of times now when Mahomes drops back to pass it’s a play that’s designed for him to roll right so he can immediately start running from the pass rush coming from his left side.
These are things you don’t know since all you do is bash the Chiefs but the sports books obviously know.

Point taken, and it's a valid point. But it was either last week or the week before the Chiefs were I think it was a 14 point favorite, and barely won the game. Perhaps that's also factoring into the bookies seemingly low line on this upcoming game? Maybe the sharpies are killing the books this season with betting against the Chiefs on the point spread, so they decided to tighten it up?

In all fairness to the Chiefs, I do agree with that. Especially scheduling like that towards the end of the season when the players are already tired and nicked up. It's almost like cruel and unusual punishment.

The Chiefs retarded play calling really needs to stop. The worst thing that can happen to our offense is have the RB gain 12 yards on first down. Then it’s 17 runs in a row. And our best player is neutralized.
Put the ‘@&$”@$& ball in MAHOMES hands! 😡🤬

  • stevekstevek Posts: 29,159 ✭✭✭✭✭

Browns sure made their ridiculous share of mistakes. Four interceptions and two lost fumbles. That simply isn't going to get it done against the Chiefs, or really almost any other team.

Saturdays the best day. Its understandable the NFL wants a big game on Christmas but ironically its really not a big game at all and the Chiefs could just tank it and nothing would change

I dont mind a Christmas game since theres only so many times you can watch a Christmas Story or Elf. I wouldnt blame the Chiefs at all if they just tanked it sitting some guys. I do think the Thursday games are dumb especially now that they made them harder to watch. At the very least those should just be teams coming off a bye week or heading into one

Sprains can take longer to heal than breaks. Dont be surprised if hes back out there though. They can numb it up with the real good drugs and put a pound of tape on it. It seems like a waste for whats largely a meaningless game and that they have Wentz as a backup but the focus should be on getting him healthy for the playoffs

They have a 2 game lead over the Bills with 3 games left. If his injury is actually bad and not just being played up him healthy for the playoffs should be the bigger focus. 1 vs 2 doesnt make much of a difference, thats rarely the championship game. Bills fans would flood KC anyways if that was the AFC championship at KC

I have said for years, since the QB has been such a dominant position in determining the SB, that teams like the Chiefs are one play away from being average. We might get a test of my theory this week if Mahomes can't play.

The bigger question is how do you feel about the KC "luck" right now?? If Patrick Mahomes is in any way limited through the playoffs that is a MAJOR stroke of luck for every team in the playoffs and beats anything that has helped the Chiefs this season.

I hope he heals fast, he's just too dynamic of a player to be watching on the sideline in a boot.

  • craig44craig44 Posts: 11,350 ✭✭✭✭✭

I think it would be wise to give him at least one week off from that ankle. 3 games in 10 days is a lot. That thing needs the swelling down I am sure

We'll just have to wait and see if Mahomes plays and/or how he plays, to determine whether or not this was an unlucky break for the Chiefs.

Any further debate about whether the Chiefs have been incredibly lucky this season or not is just plain silly, because the fact is they have been incredibly lucky.

If this injury adversely affects Mahomes performance, then I would say, yes, the Chiefs luck is now evening out.

  • stevekstevek Posts: 29,159 ✭✭✭✭✭

    Houston Texans
    open -1
    now -2.5
    Kansas City Chiefs
    open +1
    now +2.5

The odds movement in their upcoming game on Saturday, says the bookies and bettors think the injury will affect Mahomes in some way.

So don't be too surprised if Wentz plays on Saturday.

BTW - Wentz has had a career propensity himself for getting injured. Chiefs better have a decent third stringer just in case.

No one does but theirs is especially bad. If that were to happen their seasons over. Mahomes comments indicate that unless his ankle gets back to full strength hed rather not play this week since its not a playoff game and really not that meaningful game for them

He better cowboy up -- you don't want to play the Birls in Biffalo.

    this is too good

during one play last Sunday, Trent McDuffie looked up at the jumbotron on a scramble drill and saw Jameis Winston rolling to his side and uncorking one, so he immediately turned around...........and picked it off
