On Fox NFL show recently Strahan stated KC can't keep winning by these small margins. Giants should be so lucky.

KC with yet another soft game coming up in a few minutes. Impossible to jinx this game, so I'm not even gonna try.

Chiefs now 11-1. Yes, technically a good record. But it's gotta be the luckiest 11-1 record in NFL history. Not even debatable.

Will the Chiefs incredible good luck continue? We shall see.

Maybe you should have tried to jinx it. I missed the game… watching now on nfl network but I know we won 19-17. And heard we came up with a cool new way to win a game.
    Sweet! 🥳🍺

Well I’ve seen enough of the game to see that the main problem is the same as last week. Wanya Morris is getting beat like a drum at left tackle again. He’s giving Mahomes no blind side protection again. They signed
DJ Humphries a few days ago I guess he wasn’t ready to go.

  • DarinDarin Posts: 7,209 ✭✭✭✭✭

Well I fell asleep watching the rerun of the Chiefs on nfl network. Missed the ending. 😩

  • DarinDarin Posts: 7,209 ✭✭✭✭✭

Apparently there’s a meme going around on social media where it’s popular to say the Chiefs are the worst 11-1 team ever. That’s great😂
A lot better than being the best 1-11 team ever.
I hope next week we pull out another win by sheer luck on the last play of the game. And I hope there’s controversy surrounding the refs being on the Chiefs payroll. Anything to get Steve going. 🥳

Would like to see Vikings win it all, but after that, a Bills-Lions catchup would be sweet.
Who to root for? The team that went 4 times in a row and lost them all, or the team that's been arguably the most pathetic for the last 65 years?

Vikings have arguably the best combination of WR1, WR2, TE and RB in football.

Defense is playing very well. They will all need to be healthy for the Vikings to advance in the playoffs.

They have lost their LT and also the guy they went out and got to replace him, that's a concern.

Darnold has some mobility and can run with the ball if no one's open. I always said that I hate playing these kind of QB's.

I don't think they are as good as the Lions, but the better team doesn't always win.

    GO VIKES!

    Dallas Cowboys: +100000
    Cleveland Browns: +100000
    Chicago Bears: +100000
    Carolina Panthers: +100000

Here is the entire list according to Fox Sports. I cut it off at Baltimore because there was quite a gap in the odds between them and Green Bay.

To my recollection, this late in the NFL season, it's unusual for a long shot to win the Super Bowl. I'm not talking about preseason or early season odds, but odds around this time or later. Also to my recollection, the last time a team with "high" odds to win the Super Bowl, after the playoff teams had been determined, was the Steelers around fifteen or twenty years ago. I think they were around 16-1.

I mean look at those teams with high odds. You may as well just send the bookie an official donation because that's what it would be.

The Rams could get hot now that their WR's are healthy, at +12000 it wouldn't be the worst bet to throw $25 on it

  • DarinDarin Posts: 7,209 ✭✭✭✭✭

To me the Bills look like a good bet at +750
The last two seasons before this I actually bet on kc to win the sb before the season started. Both times the odds were like +900 or 950. $100 bet each time. This year I thought why push it and didn’t make the same bet.

  • DarinDarin Posts: 7,209 ✭✭✭✭✭

If I were to take a long shot team right now I think I would go with Denver at +4500. They are 7-5 right now and play the Browns and Colts the next two games so should be 9-5 and definitely in the playoffs.
They have a really good defense, a really good coach that I believe the players like and have a lot of confidence in, and Bo Nix is getting better as the season goes along. This could be a team that if they win the turnover battle has the ability to beat the teams that are considered elite.
If they beat the Browns I might even throw a few bucks on them just to take a chance on a long shot.

Perk- I might take those odds at +12000 if it were just to get in the playoffs but not to win the SB. They are 5-6 , they play the Saints today which will be hard enough for them to win but then they have the bills and 49ers. I don’t see them even in the playoffs. But yes that would be a huge payoff I just don’t see any chance.

I agree but for a dart throw for $25 the benefit would be a cash out option if they made the playoffs and even better if they made it past the first round.

If I do it and they miraculously make the playoffs you can be sure I'd cash it out lol

Denver for a sneaky pick would t be bad either, Nix has developed really well

not sure why the Chiefs are given better odds to win than Buffalo. Buffalo handled them 2 weeks ago and while the Chiefs have a stellar record, they are definitely not looking like any kind of juggernaut. barely beating Carolina and LV.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

Are you kidding me? Isn't this something that players normally do after their playing career is over?

Kelce just signed a fat two year deal to play football, and now he's basically told the Chiefs that football is no longer his main professional priority.

Frankly, I'm tired of hearing about him, the cheefs, mahomes, swift, caitlyn clark djt and a few others.

Doesn't matter all that much at this point in the regular season. As far as the top teams, everything is basically already determined for the playoffs, barring a collapse which I don't see happening by any of the top teams.

If the Chiefs go 16-1 in the regular season, but don't three-peat, almost nobody will remember it. Perhaps similar to the season the Patriots came within a whisker of going undefeated, but got edged out in the Super Bowl. Arguably that may have been the best team the Patriots ever had, but because they didn't win the Super Bowl, it didn't really matter.

This current Chiefs team is by no reasonable definition a great team. They are 5-8 ATS, in the bottom ten teams. That isn't greatness, and there will be no three-peat for them.

  • DarinDarin Posts: 7,209 ✭✭✭✭✭

People can talk about the worst 12-1 team in history all they want…. but when Mahomes has the chance to make a game winning or tying drive late in the fourth quarter why in the world doesn’t anybody ever stop him?

  • DarinDarin Posts: 7,209 ✭✭✭✭✭

Luckily for us Steve has it all figured out. Just look how a team does ATS to figure out if they can win a SB. 😂.

The bottom line is if the Chiefs are given a chance to win a game late they pretty much will, it's been proven time and time again.

I'd say the team as a whole is the very best at managing a very close game, they definitely had some breaks go their way but regardless they know how to win consistently and that's the reality

it's all about making plays, and Mahomes always does. doesn't matter if he's having an off game or off season statistically, he always comes through when it matters most.

the biggest one in last night's game was when KC was down 16-17 and had 3rd and 10 at their own 40 with a little over 4 mins left. i thought this and i think i even murmured it out loud.............if the Chargers can stop them here they might win this game, but i fully expect Mahomes to make a play. sure enough, he almost got sacked but eluded the rush the only way he knows how and then flung a perfect dime to Worthy who was streaking across the field for a first down. at that point LA was dead. he was going to drive them down the field and win that game, because that's what he does.

and was anyone really surprised that the game-winning kick ricocheted off the goal post and went through? KC wins every close game and it's starting to make everyone outside of Chiefs kingdom sick, so it's almost as if they do pop tarts like that on purpose just to mess with everyone.......and especially mess with the resident Eagles fan contributing in this thread.

you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet

Luckily for us Steve has it all figured out. Just look how a team does ATS to figure out if they can win a SB. 😂.

No, but it is an indicator that a team isn't meeting expectations. And obviously the Chiefs haven't. However thru an unprecedented amount of good luck, they have managed to accumulate their undeserved 12-1 record.

I actually like it. When the Chiefs lose in the playoffs and their three-peat dreams get dashed, it will make it all the more fun. 😆

People can talk about the worst 12-1 team in history all they want…. but when Mahomes has the chance to make a game winning or tying drive late in the fourth quarter why in the world doesn’t anybody ever stop him?

I'd say the team as a whole is the very best at managing a very close game, they definitely had some breaks go their way but regardless they know how to win consistently and that's the reality

I agree with ya. The question is will the Chiefs phenomenally bizarre good luck continue?
