Perfect strategy for the Browns. Watson sucks but they’re stuck with him for this year and next year. Let him get the ever loving sh$t beat out of him this year and take a 1-16, 2-15 record into the draft and take the best QB available. Let the rookie sit for a year and hopefully get more top draft choices on top of the Watson suck.
Cut Watson and eat the $72 M left on his contract and roll with a QB on a rookie deal. Tank in plain sight.

    How bout them Cowboys!!!!!! :D

I doubt that we see any posts tonight in the Dak thread defending his 60M salary. 😉

By resigning Dak and Dee Jerry handcuffed the Cowboys for the foreseeable future. What those huge contracts do is limit the ability to sign decent backups. I seriously doubt they will be a contender for awhile.

I am in utter shock Pederson had a job or even a seat on the plane home from London. What are they? 1-8, 1-9 since last year. Lawrence isn’t going anywhere with the bag o money he just got

The bills win completed a 7 team parlay for me…… was a little perturbed they gave up the Hail Mary right before halftime. 😩

Thanks for the offer, but I'm going back to my newfound passion of documenting Aaron Rodgers facial expressions as the New York fighting Jets continue to stink it up.

Not sure how the Adams pickup will workout for the Jets but Buffalo adding Cooper is a huge pickup. They were already one of the most potent scoring offenses before making this deal.

  • 2dueces2dueces Posts: 6,489 ✭✭✭✭✭

Cooper must be ecstatic to get out of Cleveland 1-5 and team up with Allen.
These #’s tell everyone why Beane didn’t sign a high priced free agent in the off season.
Cooper gets paid $1.2M plus incentives on a one year deal.
Now if Cooper plays his ass off and he has the incentive to do so his market value next year is around $22M.
Sweet deal for both Buffalo and him.

I couldn't find anything on that, but here are some facts that are pretty sad:
"the Browns have zero games with 20+ points, and have zero games with 200+ passing yards. They are also ranked 30th in points per game (15.8), 32nd in yards per game (239.4), 32nd in yards per play (3.8), 28th in touchdowns per game (1.8), and 32nd in third-down conversion percentage (18.1%)."

Rumors in Cleveland are starting to fly that Cooper pretty much hated Watson and wanted out of Cleveland before the season even started.
Here's an amazing fact: Rodney McLeod leads the Browns with touchdowns (2) and he plays on defense!

Hey, Pats fans can feel your pain.
    20+pt games - 2 (20 vs SEA/21 vs HOU)
200+ passing yard games - 1 (Maye vs HOU)
    PPG - 31st (13.8)
    YPG - 30th (257.2)
    YPPL - 31st (4.3)
    TDPG - 31st (1.3)
    3rd Dwn% - 27th (31.%)

Drake Maye just had Pats season highs in Passing Yards, TDs, INTs & Points Scored on sunday and the team still lost by 20pts lol.

0-36 OR 0-26, I guess there isn't that much difference if you think about it! Still means the Browns offense sucks either way - :D

ESPN's latest 2025 NFL mock draft has the Browns taking Deion's son Shedeur Sanders 1st overall. I don't watch college football so don't know if he's actually worthy of getting picked there.

Hell be one of the top QBs to come off the board. Deion will try and keep him away from the Browns. Scouts love him from the name and the mensurables. Ewers is better but has a bunch of injury issues. Beck has been kind of a disappointment so far, Ward could end up being the first QB pick and Nussmeiuer is starting to make for it. For first overall Hunter who plays both ways and would probably win the Heisman if he played somewhere else that was smarter about how they used him both ways is very much in play. Hes a cheat code for Sanders as well, Sanders can just throw it in his direction and hell catch it, but Sanders is going to go high if hes healthy

Is Sanders a better prospect than Jayden Daniels?

If NE lands another top three pick again there better be a huge For Sale sign right away. ESPN had a handful of teams in that top 10-12 teams needing a QB.

Hes not but some teams might think he is. He spent his first 2 years at an HBCU where him and Hunter were head and shoulders above everyone else then went to Colorado. Pac 12 wasnt known for its defense and even this year in the Big 12 its very Pac 12ish with Texas gone now and Oklahoma State and Kansas really struggling. Oklahoma State is one of the biggest disappointments this year and its a more Pac 12 offensive style conference now. Hes a diva with a ton of money already. I wouldnt pick him but I wouldnt be surprised if hes the first QB off the board.

The tempting thing for NE to not trade down would probably be Hunter now that theyre starting Maye. Hes an elite WR that isnt maximizing that because hes also playing DB and is very good at that as well. Hes playing basically every snap of every game which gasses him out as the season goes on. He could legitimacy play either in the NFL or be a WR that sometimes steps in at DB, playing every down just wouldnt be realistic. Hes had some insane catches and INTs

I'd rather see NE take the picks, they have to many holes on their OL. In that scenario they'd likely end up with two of the top 35-40 picks from that team trading up, just make the deal, imo.

I’m not sure if I stated this here or elsewhere. The Browns are going to stick with Watson AS A STARTER for 2 years. They are in full tank mode to draft a QB, sit him for a year and cut Watson in 2026 and take the $72M cap hit. They don’t want Winston winning games and losing a draft spot. Watson is a $172M cap hit next year.
Full tank mode in plain site.

And it's too bad because with the defense they had in place along with a healthy Chubb and Hunt they were looking pretty good until Watson happened, they would have been far better off with Flacco behind center

Let's get him through this season and hopefully the team reloads some weapons and we will see how good he can be

For sure I would take the picks too especially if they can get something close to what the Bears got. Hunter will be tempting for the front office though if hes there for their pick. On the bright side as long as they dont mess it up and win some games, someone would try and move up for Hunter as well. People do stupid stuff for QBs every draft and this QB draft isnt that great, but if they can keep a top 4 pick trading down shouldnt be that hard

We were watching Red Zone and saw it, he stepped back and you could see his Achilles pop, my best guess is he snapped his Achilles and the Browns just got 100% better
