Season-ending injury for Cowboys star who signed $97M deal

Trevon Diggs, Cowboys CB, reportedly out for season after sustaining torn ACL in practice

No problem, minor setback, we still dem boyz, we got this. I bet you're thinking that I'll try to back out of our bet, well think again, because it ain't happening. As a matter of fact, I'm even more pumped up and ready to go, I'm excited, I think I'll go hook up the VCR I purchased in 1988, if it still works, and watch our 1992 Super Bowl victory on VHS!

Diggs as you know is a shutdown corner. Usually there is a huge difference between that and a second team guy. Nick Sirianni is salivating at the possibilities this opens up for the Eagles offense.

And please stop with the constant PM's...asking me, begging me, now it's pleading with me to let you back out of the avatar bet. Must have been over a hundred messages already. The answer is still no, a hundred times no, a thousand times no.

No chance, we will not lay down and give up, we shall continue to fight on, and find a way to win on November 5th! Now, if you'll excuse me, I must fetch my 1993 Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl t-shirt, I think I shall wear it tomorrow with much pride. Yes, it is a bit shrunken and has a hole in it, 30 years will do that to clothes, but nevertheless I am proud of our accomplishment!

Would be most interesting if both teams came into the game undefeated. But admittedly, that's quite a long shot.

Yes, you are correct, the Eagles will probably lose before then, but that's ok, it will still be a hard fought game. I'm sorry to have to say this Steve, I know being an Eagles fan this has to sting, but you need to go ahead and get used to this image, get it in your system, get acclimatized to it, and learn to accept the fact that this is going to be reality on February 11th, 2024.

I don't think that Dak Prescott will be alive in the year 3023 when the Cowboys might win their next Super Bowl.

I'd root for the Cardinals today. But they are so bad, I don't see any way the Cardinals win unless the Cowboys team bus breaks down, the Cowboys don't show-up, and the Cardinals win by forfeit.

Funny, because the Cowboys didn't show up today anyway, if they did I can't tell!

Gosh, the Cardinals kicker is a monster, 64-yard career long, and just drove a 62-yarder down our throat, with the laces in.

in the first half the Cowboys had 10 penalties, the defense gave up 265 yards and allowed Arizona State Technical College to score on every.....single......drive they had

I think Skip Bayless just had a brain aneurysm

A field goal. A lousy, no good, rotten, stinking field goal is all we get out of that drive. Nope, can't win football games settling for field goals. @stevek, you might as well get that avatar ready for me, because this team isn't beating the Eagles in Philly.

  • doubledragondoubledragon Posts: 23,269 ✭✭✭✭✭

Unbelievable, you should have took the field goal Mike!

Never! Anything can happen from week to week, and I choose to fight rather than surrender. We'll be back, you haven't heard the last from Dallas's fighting Cowboys, but I'm afraid we have no choice but to take our L this week.

    So was Micah parsons playing?
He’s been doing a lot of tough talking lately but his defense can’t stop a team with a no name qb? No disrespect to az qb but I had not heard of him.
Micah maybe if your defense sucks that bad just keep quiet and stop the war of words with tyreek because him and Miami could easily put up 70 on your sorry asses also.
I hope they do and tyreek goes for about 250 with 4 tds.

Dallas had their chances, I thought it was stupid to not take the FG when they were down by 8.but Coaches gotta outcoach themselves

Obviously it was mute point after but it might have changed things idk

Completely agree. You gotta kick the field goal in that spot.

Against a good team, in a high scoring game, if your offense is hot, perhaps you go for it. Against a bad team, when your team is struggling to put points on the board for the day, never. You take the 3 as there was plenty of time left on the clock. I think it was around 2 1/2 minutes left in the third quarter.

Depends on the season and standings situation, but all things being equal, I think I get as much pleasure from a Cowboys loss, as an Eagles win.

Yes, i realize I should probably see a good psychiatrist about rooting like this, but then so would a million other Eagles fans. 😂😎

I’m at least 3 times as psychotic as you. It’s been a dream the last several years with Jon gruden flaming out with the raiders, Sean Payton saying last years bronco coach did probably the worst job in nfl history and now being 0-3 and the dolphins dropping 70 on him, and the chargers coach being an idiot savant without the savant.
The fun never ends in the afc west for a lifelong chiefs fan.
In order of hate I rank them
    1. Raiders
    2. Broncos
    3. Chargers

I don't trust Dak, but I am not ruling out a great pretty good season from Dallas. I still think they can win the division, but I don't expect them to go anywhere in the postseason.

Payton's Saints underperformed, overall, during his tenure. IMO. And he was horrendous with the cap. AFAIK, he quit on them when times were looking bad, lied (like a lot of these guys do, talking about why they are leaving) then came back talking all of that crap.

Frankly, I don't think anyone can be a good sports fan without a "rooting against" angle. I mean technically on every single play, a fan is rooting for their team, and rooting against the other team.

Depending on how another team beats up your favorite team over the years, it can morph into loathing for that other team. I think it's just human nature.

Only when it spills into violence like some of the recent incidents at a few stadiums, then it's totally unacceptable, as it should be.

Dak is basically Kirk Cousins. a middling QB who teases you with good games, then quickly reminds you that he's not that guy and never will be.

in the second half the Cowboys drove it inside Arizona's 10 four different times, and they came away with a grand total of 6 points. at no point was i under the impression that Dak was going to make a play. instead it felt like Dallas could have been given 6 downs and they still wouldn't have scored a touchdown.

the Cowboys will never win anything of consequence with him

Curt Cousins can tease fans, but he will never take your team to the promised land. I said that when the Vikings signed him.

let me try to explain to those who have never lived in Texas what the Dallas Cowboys' aura is like here. i've personally been a Bears fan since 1979. i am an extreme outlier. i grew up in West Texas, and greater than 99% of the people there are not only DC fans, but they are completely intolerable ones. i now live in Houston and the majority of fans here are.........wait for it..........wait for it............Texans Cowboys fans as well. every......single.......year DC fans go into the season thinking that their team is the odds-on favorite to win the Super Bowl, regardless of what the true number is. every year. EvErY yEaR. IT'S BEEN ALMOST THIRTY YEARS SINCE THEY LAST WON ONE. doesn't matter. we're America's team, we have the most talent, start sizing us up for rings.

so just imagine what it's like in this state when they start a season out by winning their first two games by a combined score of 70-10. after the media and the rest of America pours a bucket of gasoline on the fire, all of a sudden it goes from unrealistic SB aspirations to OH SH*T IT'S DYNASTY TIME BABY. cocky, arrogant, obnoxious, it's a done deal, no further effort is warranted.

a show of hands -- who watched them play the Cardinals yesterday? if you did, then you saw a team that emulated its fan base. cocky, arrogant, obnoxious, it was a done deal, no further effort was warranted. from the opening kickoff, they had the look of a team that thought they could just show up and show out because they were playing an NAIA team.

but a funny thing happened along the way.

the dudes who suit up for the Arizona School of Retardation actually came to play. there's not an elixir that will magically make a football player more talented, but no one can tell a player how hard to prepare and how hard to play. the Arizona Cardinals holistically possess a fraction of the talent that the Dallas Cowboys do, yet the moment the ball went into the air until the the clock showed 0:00 in the fourth quarter, they had the look of a team that said, "we only came here to do two things -- kick some ass and drink some beer. and it looks like we're almost out of beer." they punched the Cowboys in the face from the onset and kept doing it until they knocked them out. R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

Arizona had lost 14 out of their last 15 games at home prior to yesterday. they were almost two-touchdowns underdogs to a team that people could not remove from their mouths. they were supposed to get rolled up, but they never got the memo. or maybe they did and couldn't read it, idk. but whatever the case may be, they didn't care. they had the look of a team that prepared hard and played even harder. the Cowboys, on the other hand, had the look of a team that's undeserving of a scintilla of admiration.

i know my team sucks, but at least there are no misconceptions. Dallas teases the pop tarts out of its fan base year in and year out, and i cackle like a hyena when all of those insufferable fans finally come to the realization that their team once again consists of a bunch of chumps who perennially cannot be trusted.

i legit hate the Cowboys for every conceivable reason i can conjure up, but outside of that, they're fine.

Come on GOAT coach, how about kicking some Cowboys arze today?

Surely you can summon up a little bit of your past coaching greatness, and outcoach Mike McCarthy? Take some Adderall if ya need to sharpen up that old brain a little bit. Steal the Cowboys signals, deflate the footballs, whatever it takes, anything.

You know what Steve, I've been having trouble with my phone the past few days, I have to keep the light dim or the screen turns an orange color. It's a 2016 Samsung Galaxy, I think I'm going to have to get a new one. It sucks because I use my phone for the forum and it's hard to see the posts, I can barely make out your trash talk about the greatest franchise in sports!

You may have done this already. If ya google, Samsung Galaxy light dim orange color problem, there might be some quick fix solutions. Including some interesting videos on Youtube.

Good luck, and if that fixes the problem, I want payment of one full day of no badmouthing the Eagles. 😉

I have indeed Googled it, and I think my problem has something to do with lighting issues, honestly I think it's just outdated, I'm going to look into getting a new one, it's long overdue. Perhaps my new phone will have a lot of extra space, for downloading more Philadelphia Eagles memes!
