He does have good stats, Brady and Brees started off slow, Brady was definitely not a stats guy until.way after his career took.off and Brees first three seasons were non existent.

    Still impressive for Dak though

Yes, he's going to need a ring or two if he wants to reach the next level of greatness. I think I'm going to turn this thread into an official Dallas Cowboys season thread, my avatar is Baker Mayfield, but deep down inside I'm still Mustache Jerry Jones, and I must follow my team this season.

So the question is: When will Dak get injured this year?

Cowboys vs. the Giants โ€ฆ As an Eagles fan I canโ€™t decide which one should lose.

Considering that the Cowboys have the better chance of challenging the Eagles this year, I'd say Cowboys.

The question remains will the Dallas Cowboys ever win a Super Bowl in this century?

The correct answer is not as long as Jerry Jones is the owner.

I will never figure out the Daniel Jones hype. If your QB is averaging about 200 yards a game and less than a TD a game for 3 years in a row you deserve to get blown out every game

Wisconsin 2-6 against the SEC since 2007

Good grief. Why did the Giants even show up? I'm not sure, but could that be the worst opening day home performance in NFL history? Certainly one of the worst.

The Cowboys definitely didn't miss good ol' Zeke.

Don't know yet if the Cowboys are this good, or the Giants are this bad? We shall see as the season goes along.

    Great player.

I had my doubts about Hurts when he joined the Eagles, in fact big doubts. His height at 6' 1" is a tad short in today's game for a QB. Plus he seemed like the type who preferred to run first and pass second - I generally don't like that in a QB. And not just for efficiency reasons, but they tend to get injured.

But Hurts has pleasantly surprised me, and has blossomed into one of the better QB's in the league. I definitely see a possible MVP award coming in his career. ๐Ÿ˜Š

This is just too bizarre, the above two posts were from yesterday, I was trying to edit something and it kept telling me that my comment needed to be approved, and now all of a sudden the posts appear? This is weird, I bet this has something to do with that creepy AI Jerry Jones.

Be interesting to see if the Cowboys bounce in this upcoming game, after their lusty 40-0 road win over the Giants.

However at home against the Jets. that may not be possible.

I'm feeling the itch, Mustache Jerry Jones is calling, I don't know how much longer I can hold him off.

Whatever ya do, don't put Mustache Jerry on AI Jerry - that would be sacrilegious.

AI Jerry wishes he could look this good!

Me loves Jerry Jones. Seriously, I think Jerry Jones is the greatest sports team owner that ever was and ever will be. Hopefully he is immortal and lives forever. Then a thousand years from now, the Cowboys still will have not won another Super Bowl. ๐Ÿ˜†

Yes, Jerry Jones is the most famous owner in sports history, maybe the most famous man ever, and with Jerry leading this organization, they are simply unstoppable. I'm afraid there isn't room enough for the both of us in the NFC this season, be afraid, be very afraid.

There ya went and did it. You backed me into a corner whereby I am forced to issue a challenge of an avatar bet.

The loser of the November 5th game has to use the avatar of the winner's choice, until kickoff time of the next game the losing team plays, usually around one week.

Let me know if you accept, and I'll have my attorneys contact your attorneys with the paperwork.

But of course I accept, I love a good avatar bet. Seeing as how Dimeman isn't around to defend the Cowboys honor, I'm afraid I'm going to have to step up to plate for him, and I'll be sure to put a lot of thought into your new avatar when the Cowboys clean house in Philly this November!

Frankly I didn't care too much for your terms of wanting my cat Fluffy as collateral in case I reneged on the bet. I thought that was a bit harsh. But i accept those terms anyway.

It's been properly notarized and all set to go.

Oh i got a great one all picked out for you already, with thoughts of Dimeman behind it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

So the contract is ready, good then, we shall settle this on November 5th, in front of the saloon, high noon! And I have a good avatar picked out for you as well, a photo that represents the Cowboy fan base very well. And by the way Fluffy will be mine someday, muhahahaha!

Funny story - back in the day, the avatar bets were way too brutal. Some of them lasted the entire season. That's really too much - a week is punishment enough.

So anyway, me and one of the best posters ever on this forum, he's a huge Emmitt Smith fan, made an avatar bet to last several months. Eagles against the Cowboys, and the Eagles won.

So he had to remove, i can't remember if it was a Cowboys logo avatar or an Emmitt Smith pic avatar, but it was easily recognizable by all. I can't even recall the exact avatar I made him use, I think it was just an Eagles logo.

Well of course there are some CU members who post on the trading cards forum but don't view the posts here on Sports Talk. After a while a few of those members, after seeing his new avatar, would comment to him that they thought he was a Cowboys fan? I imagine that used to hiss him off, but I'll admit I'd have a good laugh every time I saw a comment like that. ๐Ÿคฃ

    All in good fun. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I was involved in one or two longer bets, but not all season. I lost a bet to @doubledragon last year, if I remember correctly, and also beat @galaxy27 in an NBA bet.

Your bet with DD should have been for until the 2nd meeting in December, just to make it more spicy ๐Ÿฅต.

You might be talking about Lawnmowerman? He has an Emmitt Smith avatar and is a huge Cowboys fan, he hasn't been around for a while, but he was a poster in the trading card and sports forums. Anyway I'm looking forward to our bet, as @thisistheshow said, I beat him last year twice, the first time he had to use a cowboy Aaron Rodgers avatar for a while, and the second time I made him use a Bill Belichick dressed as Cam Newton avatar, I took him into custody twice last season, and I'm afraid I'm going to have to take you into custody on November 5th!

Yes, being a Panthers fan has toughened me up over the years, so much disappointment, of course I was born tough, as evidenced by this photo of me as a baby, so I'm ready for anything!
