The Michigan sign-stealing controversy has taken a new turn, and now three other Big Ten schools have found themselves in the spotlight alongside the Wolverines.
At Michigan, Connor Stalions allegedly ran a smash-and-grab sign-stealing operation. Ohio State, Rutgers and Purdue, meanwhile, were reportedly operating the equivalent of a criminal conspiracy. It was pure white-collar stuff.
In the end, they both stole, or participated in the stealing of, the same thing — information on opponents’ play signals in an effort to secure an advantage.

Oh my.....
Its like the Astros. Sign stealing isnt illegal its just how you do it that can be. Other than the B!Gs sportsmanship clause potentially being used for a punishment I dont believe its even illegal to share what you know with other teams if they actually did as is being rumored
The rumor is Rutgers and OSU sent Perdue Michigans signs. Unless OSU was going to lend Purdue players they could have given Purdue a live link to Michigans headsets and it wouldnt have mattered lol.
That may or may not have happened but Michigan is trying to build that narrative as basically a warning that if they get punished the other schools could too. Their response to the B!G was to "act cautiously". A lot of the B!G schools are really pushing for punishment against Michigan and they also have a first year commish as the head of the conference.

To me, it's not really a big deal but the media is out for blood as usual.
In the end, I think Michigan gets to play out the season. Harbaugh gets a slap on the wrist, maybe a fine.
I want to see how Michigan handles it from within.
Its not really a big deal to me either as long as it was just filming games and not sneaking into practices. You can easily just stop it with headsets in the QB helmets for play calls but colleges vote against it when its proposed to be able to steal signs. Even college baseball can use the electronic headsets to call pitches if a school chooses. Most of the B!G teams at the moment are bad and they see a chance to try and bring someone else down which I dont blame them for trying.
Michigan did take it to another level over what everyone else was doing, but the bigger story is likely that theres multiple investigations ongoing against Michigan and the NCAA doesnt like that they were blatantly lied to time and time again and will be looking for any reason to make someone pay for that to set a precedent.
Whether or not anything comes of it we will see, but I would guess that had Harbaugh not already been under investigation for lying to the NCAA over something very minor this may have never been a story.
Harbaugh sort of suspended by the B!G. Was suspended for 3 games where he cannot coach, but hes allowed to coach outside of game day. Michigan is suing to try and get a court to postpone it, but he was suspended under the sportsmanship clause so probably not a great chance of winning unless the Judge is a Michigan fan or dislikes PSU or OSU
Didn't matter when he was suspended earlier this season. Like he's not going to be telling the coaches what to do during the games by phone text/video?

Probably right. Its just a slap in the wrist. Only difference is now they have tough games.

They could have run a raffle at the local elementary school to see who would have coached the first 3 games. Michigan only suspended him to try and get ahead of potential NCAA penalties. The B!G did this "suspension" to try and shield Michigan for future NCAA penalties.
This is Michigan's first real game of the season and than they play OSU two weeks later for their only two real games of the year. Its probably not going to make any difference since hes still allowed to do everything except during the 3 hours a week of game time and he doesnt call plays anyways. Yea theres a million ways he can still contact people during the games anyways
The bigger story is that it makes it more likely his time in college football is coming to an end. Hes wanted to be back in the nfl for a while now and now hes been suspended by his school and conference in the same year with multiple NCAA investigations hanging over his head

I expect his players will be extremely fired up and trounce PSU. Next week will be no problem, then his suspension will be suspended before the OSU game.

I agree, I expect the Michigan coaching staff to use this as an "us against the world" situation.
I do hope PSU pulls it off though.
PSU slicing up the Michigan D - BUT, they ran the ball all the way to the 3 then for some reason the PSU coaches decide to throw the ball into the endzone! At least PSU 3-0 (for now)

The only way his suspension would get removed is by a court ruling. If they were going to put a hold on it itll happen before Maryland. The B!G commish would basically just have to resign if all of a sudden he was like just kidding no more suspension

You really just have to assume he will until he proves otherwise at this point.
Can we stop pretending JJ McCarthy is some sort of elite QB now? What a snooze fest that second half was just trading draw plays over and over. Not a good look for Franklin that Michigan didnt even attempt a pass in the second half
Good game so far, 10-10 Miami/Fla State at the half. Except for the call when the FS quarterback was clearly tackled in the endzone for a 2 point safety that the refs called down on the 1/2 yardline - and then it was reviewed and they let the call stand - something fishy on that one.
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
Comparison between Georgia and Bama both at home against Ole Miss this year.
Bama a little better defensively, but not even close offensively.
10 yards per gain for UGA to 5.4 for Bama.

Definitely a bad look. Your team comes in averaging 60 yards rushing against per game and then allows 30 straight runs and loses? Not good.
And that 2pt attempt in the first half - and the one in the second half - were both dumb decisions.

Once they went for the first one they were basically committed to having to go for 2 from then on. That play call was just very stupid though.
Penn State actually just fired their OC so Franklin must be starting to feel some heat
Oregon State and Washington have played 3 point games the past two years. Both teams winning at home. Oregon State is home this year.
UGA at UT. UGA has manhandled them the past six years home and away.
Not sure if Michigan at Maryland qualifies as a big game.
Maryland definitely not. Michigan should be able to sleep walk that one.
Louisville and Miami is an important one as it has implications on who would reach the ACC championship. Right now it would be FSU and Louisville who has 1 conference loss with UNC sitting at 2 loses. Not sure what the tie breaker would be since UNC and Louisville didnt play this year. UNC plays Clemson another important one this week which is a must win and has NC State the week after
Kansas State Kansas could potentially have implications for the Big 12 championship
That was the right move for them. They basically have unlimited money and hed been given enough chances to show he just isnt the guy. His recruiting classes have been far to talented for these kinds of results. Hes even had the number 1 class and still didnt win 10 games in a season during his time there.
Washington and Oregon state is the only key game next Saturday. Georgia should stomp Tennessee. They shouldnt be ranked after that beat down yesterday.
The SEC could be getting left out of the playoffs if Bama wins the conference. Washington, Texas, and Florida State win out the committee will probably choose Texas over Bama.
Ohio State could be getting left out
of the playoffs if Michigan beats them. Washington, FSU, Georgia and Michigan win out. The committee will most likely choose the four undefeateds over Ohio State.
Ya, One third the Ohio State team couldn't play against Bama because they had covid. There was no Michigan vs Ohio State game that year because of the pandemic.

I got to tell ya, I'd consider that sig line as a trophy.........mission accomplished...
