I won 2 Saints in the Heritage auctions last night and my Saints set is finally complete.* So I finally decided to make my sets public. Let me know what you guys think!
- I guess it's not complete yet as I'm sure I will be able to find a few more upgrades over time.

I didn't expect to get to #1 so fast. This was supposed to be a 10 year project! I need a break... lol.

This set was not just about money; the stars aligned at the right time and was helped by Simpson unexpectedly selling his collection, and there were even a couple of new discoveries over the past year....two come to mind that were 1000% fresh to market, graded by PCGS for the first time over the past year. Not really sure a set of this calibre has ever been completed in such a short period of time.

These are some of the first coins with the Elite pedigree. This pedigree is not anything special today, but maybe in the future it might be.

Well, it's been a while since my lower jaw detached itself and rolled under the desk, but dang it happened again! Truly a stunning set!
With this set you put together I would say the pedigree is something special today! For those in the know- one word- Elite- and no further explanation necessary.
Thanks! That's very kind of you to say.
And for those that have not heard of Elite Collection, they may think "Elite" means PCGS deems it an elite coin. That works too!

Outstanding ! Thank you for sharing them.
Congratulations. As long as kept intact, no one can beat it. All PCGS Top Five but two. Very good work in a short time.

That is an extraordinary accomplishment and a collection filled with amazing coins. Obviously it can’t be topped as long as you own that 1933!
Spectacular! Very hard to imagine doing it so quickly.
Aoogah!
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
Beyond impressed! I cannot believe you put this set together @EliteCollection. You are my hero!
Wow! Absolutely amazing! The coins are so beautiful. You are a true inspiration to keep collecting. Not enough can be said about this. Truly an outstanding accomplishment.
Congratulations again. Open a good bottle of wine or something and bask in the glory!
My oh my, incredible.

I told my son that my plan is to buy the 1933. Assuming you want to keep the set whole for a while. Glad you posted here. I’ll contact you direct.

A beautiful set of one of the most beautiful coins. As I scrolled through the photos it was one eye popper after another with some wonderful toning giving them a unique flavor. Congratulations and thanks for sharing.
A perfect set of the most beautiful coins ever minted by the US Mint. I am in awe of your accomplishment given the competition for these top POP coins. I look forward to your exhibit when it makes sense for you. And you were the buyer of the 1933........WOW.
I’m gonna take more time tomorrow to go through all of them to really appreciate it, but I already know that this is probably going to be the best saint set I may ever see in my adult lifetime. I would be delighted even to have some of the coins that you upgrade lol. Congratulations on such an accomplishment, it really is a special collection and I appreciate you sharing it with us.

but complete with the 1933 and the amazing 1907 coins!
Incredible. Thanks for sharing.
One of my two favorite U.S. coins and I struggle to get to ms64/5 on these.
I'm humbled by your accomplishment.
Outstanding.
That's nice!
@EliteCollection.... An incredible achievement. Such beautiful gold coins. Truly deserving of the 'Elite' title. Cheers, RickO
Beautiful coin collection! Loved looking to see how the gold has toned on some of them. Truly amazing and thanks for sharing!

Well,I was sufficiently blown away upon opening up that link and collection!
Congratulations on this fine accomplishment and endeavor.
I’m going to spend more focus and time later to study these as I’m still digesting and recovering from the first few outstanding pieces I viewed.
Stunning and spectacular! Thank you for sharing!

You did say awhile ago that you were going to make it public after completion.

My Saint Set
What a treat for a wet, cold, winter Saturday morning.
Talk about an ideal way for a hobbyist to take a little time for hobby fun!!!!
Thank you for posting this thread and making your amazing collection of Saints public.
I just looked at the photos of the coins in your set and doing so has made my day. These coins are fantastic historical artifacts that can now be shared across the globe with a few clicks of one's mouse.
Now that is a 'Big' set.
The link is for the set which includes Patterns. I know only a little about the details of the Saints and basically nothing about the Patterns. Don't know if you have any information or opinion on them that you want to share. Are you looking for any or other.
Here is something strange I noticed about their Weight in this set. One is a Weight of 10 and the other 3 a Weight of 1. 10 is the toughest and 1 is the easiest (or something of similar relation). However, when I clicked on the coinfacts links for the 4 Patterns, they are all basically non-existent. So Don't trust those Weights.

What a truly magnificent set!! Just stunning!!!
Oh ... my ...
My brain hurts processing all those Superb examples in one place. I tried to figure out which one I liked best, but even that's impossible ... there were at least 7 that made my mind bend.
Thank you for sharing the images and your set with us ... and if you do ever take them out to a show to share, let us know where ... that alone will be worth double the price of admission, I'm sure!

I will absolutely fly to whatever show these are displayed at. Well done!

LIBERTY SEATED DIMES WITH MAJOR VARIETIES CIRCULATION STRIKES (1837-1891) digital album
Keep tabs on this thread as I will be sure to post here when I know when and where I will be showing these coins.

Of course most people know of the Judd 1776. That's an amazing coin that is arguably mort valuable than the 1933. The other patterns are not well known. I do have one that previously belonged to Simpson: https://www.pcgs.com/cert/06666027
If I run across the other 2, I might be interested, but not actively looking for them.

I linked to the saints with patterns set because that's the only saints set that included the 1933. I also have the #1 saints set in other categories. Here's a some info about these other sets and my journey in getting to #1.
DENVER GOLD $20 BASIC SET, CIRCULATION STRIKES (1906-1931)
I beat out Dell Loy Hansen on this set mainly on the strength of my 1927-D. There's a whole backstory on how I managed to get this coin. That's for another day.
ST. GAUDENS $20 GOLD DATE SET, CIRCULATION STRIKES (1907-1932)
This is a 23 coins date set. So you only need 1 coin of each year and may not need the most rare dates. For example, you can use a 1927 rather than a 1927-D. I barely managed to edge out Steven L. Duckor's all-time finest set by a set rating difference of 0.1!
ST. GAUDENS $20 GOLD BASIC SET, CIRCULATION STRIKES (1907-1932)
This is the 51 coins basic set. It's similar to the main set but is missing the 1909/8 and has only 1 slot for the high relief saint. The previous #1 all-time finest set was Simpson's set. Simpson had an amazing set. If Simpson had not decided to auction off his set last year, I believe it would have been mathematically impossible for me to catch up to him.
ST. GAUDENS $20 GOLD WITH MAJOR VARIETIES, CIRCULATION STRIKES (1907-1932)
I consider this the main 53 coins saints set. Like the basic set, Simpson had a strong lock on #1 previously.
ST. GAUDENS $20 GOLD WITH MAJOR VARIETIES, CIRCULATION STRIKES (1907-1932) - CAC
This is the same as the previous set except every coin had to have a CAC sticker. Halfdome had a really strong hold on #1, except for one thing. He was missing a 1927-D with a CAC sticker. I believe he has a 1927-D in MS 66 but his coin was not stickered. Once I got myself a 27D in MS 66+ CAC, I had a great shot at overtaking Halfdome. I managed to accomplish this last June by filling the last hole in my set with the 1921 AU 58+ CAC. (https://www.pcgs.com/cert/45158963) I have since replaced that with Simpson's 1921. This set is still private because there's a small issue with the grade for one of my coins. Once that's fixed, I will open it up publicly.
ST. GAUDENS $20 GOLD BASIC SET, CIRCULATION STRIKES AND PROOF (1907-1932)
ST. GAUDENS $20 GOLD WITH MAJOR VARIETIES, CIRCULATION STRIKES AND PROOF (1907-1932)
These 2 sets are similar to the ones above except they include the 8 proof coins from 1908-1915. When I acquired Tom Koessl's amazing matte gold proof set, I managed to edge out Dell Loy Hansen here.
