Possible NEWP arriving today ... but we shall see. She's a hot mess, that's for sure!
Coffee is good, weather is getting cooler all the time, and last night I cleaned up my Census and Die State Study paperwork so I can send it in for the BHNC Annual Report after the Thanksgiving Holidays.
To hold us over until then, I am not sure if I have shared this one yet. One of the wonderful girls I convinced to come home with me from the ANA in Pittsburg this Summer.

Beautiful Half.
Every time I see you post one of these. I quickly check the cert just to see how many Kennedys I would need to sell in order to get one. I'm gonna need more, a whole lot more.
Alright... getting in on time this week!
Here's some homegrown bullion, a couple of new ones in the "stack"
And how about this crazy face in my afternoon espresso shot? 🤯
That might have been the lure! He was going for Beardslee Trout!!
I want to know more!!
the rest of the story:
Bout 15 or so years ago, I used to frequent CoinZip boards. https://coinzip.proboards.com/ (they are still out there. don't know if Alan
is still in charge but at the time it was THE place for Bust discussions and pictures.
A number of BHNC'rs were there sharing all the knowledge this newbie could gobble up.
One of the contributors was a gentleman going by the name Biddlesbank, nice guy.......
I was talking to him about the Bearded Goddess and he said he had the Ugliest one out there.......
long story short I became her caretaker around 2010 or so..... She was my pocket piece and Poker card protector
for years, (always in an airtight). Still take her on dates a few times a year.
The only fishing we do is on the Poker tables.
Yes Todd wondered HOW you missed the original post.
hahaha! Great story. I remember Biddlesbank. He was here for a while too. That would sure get a few looks on the Poker table, but especially if some 'Nuts were playing.
No clue how I missed the thread except it looks like you posted while I was probably composing mine and I never looked behind my post.
As for Beardslee Trout, they are an exclusive species found in Crescent Lake, WA, just outside of Port Angeles. Biggest one I ever caught was probably 4.5 lbs on a fly in a Float tube. I've seen 12-plus pounders. I've heard of bigger still.
“We are only their care-takers,” he posed, “if we take good care of them, then centuries from now they may still be here … ”
Snow snow snow, and coffee, and coins...a fantastic combo, along with Thanksgiving leftovers.
Blay of course. I wasn't totally sure it would be a knockout, and when I opened the package I was pleasantly surprised. Superb luster, and color! PS @FlyingAl truly beautiful Numismatic photo work above!
I did not have this coin out today, so I am bending the rules lol
However, it is a recent purchase, and I’m very happy with it, it’s just a pleasing coin and it’s not rare at all.
I wonder what coin I'm gonna look at today with my coffee?
Believe it or not, it's that crusty AG 55/54 because I just received it. It looks great. I gave it a 10-minute soak in acetone and none of the color was removed, but some scratches and hairlines were exposed, which is typical if they're there. The obverse looks fine. The reverse retains this dark film or stain on the wings. How would PCGS handle this? Could this be restored without dipping the glory out of the coin?
It sure looks great in a Cointain.
Northwestern just beat Illinois in a wild 4th quarter 45-43.
This has been a GREAT Saturday!!! High Five to @1northcoin and CoinRaritiesOnline!
I can see my kids finding the various world currency tucked away thinking almost the exact same thing!!
I posted a GTG for a new CBH this morning, so I'll refrain from a coin today, but maybe a piece of currency in light of your post.
.
But first, for any of you CFB fans, my beloved Huskies won another nail-biter last night to cement their place in history as the last Pac12 Champions, and the only Pac12 team to make it that far unblemished ... a perfect 13-0! Go Dawgs!!
This spoiled the hopes and dreams of Duck fans worldwide, which normally makes me smile a bit, but was really kind of sad in a way, as it was another great game, and prop's should be given to the all the fantastic players and coaches on both teams.
And, because I can ... if you know ... Bow Down!!
.
Okay, how about this one;

I think the film would have to stay, any attempt to remove it would look noticeably off, IMO. Don't see any reason why it shouldn't straight grade for what it is, if that's your goal.
I am trying to recover from the embarrassing Purdue Boilermakers men's basketball performance last night against Northwestern. Tough to win with a 17-3 turnover differential. It's tough being a Purdue bball fan.
So, to make this coin related, I want to post this hammered lincoln close up (not mine) that I've kept in my WOW pic folder:

Black coffee and coins. No better way to start a Saturday morning.
Happy Sat Gents! Recent pick-up, and ain't she pretty!
Working on the Lincoln Road Show Book 2 album this morning. Just received it and added some coins.
Book 1 was a lot of fun and will be going to a true YN soon. The last few coins are being added.
There are only a handful of people listed for Book 2. It’s a fun way to connect with forum members and the final product goes to a good cause.

Love that 1858 Eldo! She is a stunning beauty!
Todd do you think she might CAC
Well, I did it a again. I bought a duplicate. A duplicate to a coin I didn't think I would ever upgrade.
Not only the same Die Marriage, but the same "hot mess" of a Die State. In the same PCGS grade!!
Is it an upgrade then? Well, kind of. Maybe. At least in my eyes, as my affliction for dirty girls is difficult to overcome.
.
Actually, she's about the came shade as my coffee with half and half this morning!

Its a Seated Dollar Saturday Morning!
Finally, a Saturday when I'm close to my coins.
Here is a denominational set of Pillars from Mexico.
