Whatever the outcomes of the games this weekend, and they were all very good, my main take away is this: The Old Guard is done......Brady and Rodgers are(?) and were great. But a new group of young quarterbacks is now taking over. Allen, Burrow, Mahomes, and.....Herbert. The AFC is set. What a group of fine, talented, young qbs. ...Everyone knows about Mahomes....but I think Allen has a #1 Superstar future head of him. That kid is awesome! And Herbert is very, very good......Look for him to be wearing a Ram uniform before too long......
Not stopping the Chiefs 40+ yards in 13 seconds lost the game. That and kicking the ball out of the end zone.

This isn’t being talked about enough, why they didn’t kick the ball in play to melt that clock down was a ridiculous and stupid decision. That would have eaten almost half of that game clock!
perkdog- The Bills must have felt that with only 13 seconds left it didn't matter that they run off 5 or 6 seconds
on a return. I've seen almost all of Mahomes games and I didn't think 13 seconds was enough to get in field goal range. They probably thought that by putting the kickoff in play with a chance of a return then anything could
happen, a few key blocks and the returner could conceivably be off to the races.
Another thing is that the Chiefs never could have pulled off the 13 second drive without those two timeouts
so its very fortunate they had saved them.
Without those time outs I agree but even Collinsworth said “Your giving Mahomes 13 seconds with timeouts”.
The best thing to have done was to take your chances with a kick short of the end zone away from a burner, that would have taken off probably 8 seconds in itself and I don’t think it would be possible to get a FG in at that point
With todays rules they could have called for a fair catch on a short kick off and spotted the ball on the 25. Almost have to line drive the kick short and hope someone tried to be a hero

There is some hope. The last time the Chiefs played the Bengals in week 17 the Bengals won 34-31 in a very meaningful game. Albeit the game was in Cincy.

The Chiefs just marched right down the field and Mahomes threw a ridiculous side armed touchdown pass, on the run, to Tyreek Hill, the Chiefs lead 7-0.
Well, the Cincinnati-Kansas City game is over. The Cincinnati defense can’t do anything with Mahomes. They couldn’t catch him with a fishnet. I might as well crank up the video disk player.
