@UFFDAH said: @blurryface - Hello. From the recently auctioned Newman Collection and described as originally from the Black Swamp find.
Ah the old black swamp find. I dream of that scenario, an attic find, and then I wake up.
I wonder how much is sitting in garages and attics? Maybe not the old old stuff but probably some good stuff from 1950 - 1980. I would like to do a massive road trip up north searching for hockey cards similar to Al Rosen (Mr.Mint) without totally ripping people off.
a lot more than one would think. just think last year a guy found his 52 stash in his moms attic. forget the exact deets but among the haul were 5 - 6 mantles that graded out 5 - 8.5, i think. and that was just the real big dog.

I personally don't like/collect the multi player RCs. But seeing these together all in such crispy mint condition - they present beautifully!
Thank you. I'm lucky that I finished it before Tram and Jack got into the HOF. I hope Lou gets in, he was my favorite Tiger.
This came back from Newport as well. This was one of the first "big dollar" cards I purchased. That is a print dot near the top, not a scuff.
Love that Brown, great example that could bump one day down the road.

IF you can find any Bowman Sterling Refractor variation from this year in a PSA 10 ... it's a find.... they are like ghosts... You can't even find BGS True Gem's or better...
Was very pleased to pick up this pair of 75 rack packs.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
Thanks, Abe! I love that 80 Reggie card, too~both his 78 and 80 cards are classic action shots!.

Finally picked up the last 1985 Boggs PSA 10 I needed. This one is tough - pop 24 out of nearly 200 submissions. This is the first one I've seen in over a year. It's in a different style holder with a plastic sleeve inside - like a BGS holder. I haven't seen one of these before.

Well I was hoping to show what I had won last month and was to be delivered this month but seller looks to be a game player when it comes to honoring their ended prices.
I was the only bidder. Paid immediately (as I always do). Tracking number provided on Sept 28th and nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing until this morning when I see I have been refunded and this note
Notes from ksablemi
sorry these items were damaged
Sure they were. Wonder what story they gave the winners of the following:
I get it. Probably discovered the actual value of the Buddy Holly record but do your research, put more thought into your listings, have better descriptions and start it at a minimum price your comfortable at. Frustrating but not worth losing sleep over.
And I did get something today for the wife. Brand new/$6.86 delivered. I know it's not a big deal but she didn't have it and loves Garth Brooks.
This seller has a 75% seller rating!! That’s terrible! eBay should ban them!
Opened up my recently purchased Wal-Mart green box 2021 Topps baseball factory set, and the 5 card cello pack with the foilboard variations had Ohtani showing on top.

Added several items to the unopened collection. The button box is going on the shelf to be displayed open with the lid popped up. They are referred to as 1984 Fun Foods Baseball Buttons, with the MLBPA copyright also showing 1984, but they have 1984 season stats included on the backside of the pins, so really more like a 1985 release. I recall buying packs of the buttons at the local drugstore, back in the day.

Finally, anyone familiar with the 89 Starting Lineup series knows that along with Alomar, Maddux, Gwynn, and a few other short prints, the 89 Ripken is among the most sought after and expensive sealed pieces in that set, with no guarantee on the condition of the card. I'm not currently collecting a registry set of the Starting Lineup cards, but when I came across an already graded Ripken, I thought, why not add this PSA 9 to the collection? I believe there are no 10s graded.

As a mostly vintage collector, there are some cards that you have to accept that you will just never get to own. More cards seem to move into this arena - priced out of the wanted grade or the card in general - every single day. Sure, there have been lots of cards that have popped and then come back down in the last few years or seem to cycle through that every so often. But they very often “settle” at a higher price point and since I tend not to want to throw huge sums of money at cards, I saved up a little cash for basically one card this month to insure that if this one runs away that I have a copy that I like. It’s not some high grade masterpiece or anything but I think it’s a pretty nice example of a pretty significant card: solid gloss, color and registration with just a tiny bit of tilt. It has soft corners and no creases of any kind that are not contained to said corners. While I’m fairly certain that the staining top left is sugar based, I will rub that corner with a microfiber cloth just to be certain it isn’t wax. I just ordered a new batch of cloths (and again, I’m not hopeful) but here it is: the definitive rookie card of an all time great Hall Of Fame pitcher, three time Cy Young winner, World Series champion and MVP of the 1963 season who is sometimes referred to as the Left Arm of God …

And someone auctioned a card not realizing it’s the green tint version.

Super excited to add this nicely centered card:
Another green tint as well as pic variation came in; pop report shows only one PSA 9 and it’s miscut. Just arrived at PSA yesterday:
ETA: the black dot in the middle is not on the card Lol
pdub, thank you for the information. I wasn't sure how to tell which was what.
Thankfully I have a 4X magnifying class to see those tiny numbers.

I sold my '59 Al PSA 8 a few years ago but I hate having a open spot in my sets so i picked up this one for $20. Nicely centered at least.
Got this for a decent deal. Under valued, I think.
