Some nice cards shown ! I don't follow "football" as the rest of the world refers to soccer as but isn't that guy the new younger "Ronaldo" of the football world- except less self centered and better at more parts of the game?
The Tomlinson is indeed a monster much harder to get that card high grade than one would imagine- I've tried
Lebron is a Pop 9 with just 8 higher. Upper Deck QC causing major issues
The Jeter is a Pop 1 none higher. These cards come out dinged up all the time
The Brees Spectrum and Manning Black Metallized just loved the beauty of the cards
Had to use my phone scanner didn't do that surface justice
Part of a May 2020 bulk sub that just popped with some PC cards all freebies from Covid relief $$
(since I had just got my tax return that Covid $$ went to cards and medical bills)
If your not a Brady fan well= fair warning= after I get them scanned I'll warn you they are about to be shown off

Some times I buy stuff and get bored with it and flip it when something new and “hot” hits the market. Some times I buy something with the intent to flip it for profit. This was bought for my PC. My first Jackie Robinson card. Fits my PC well as I like centered mid grade cards. I can’t afford the monsters that some of you can. But I’m really happy to add this.
I cannot hit curveball. Straightball I hit it very much. Curveball, bats are afraid. Collecting: post world war II HOF rookie 76 topps gem mint 10 commons 9 stars Arenado purple refractors(Rockies) Red (Cardinals) successful deals with Keevan, Grote15, 1954, mbogoman
You can never go wrong with the iconic Jackie Robinson! He broke the color barrier in professional sports for the African American athlete. He is a part of history for that accomplishment plus a heck of a ball player.
A wonderful mail day made possible by the well timed return of a PSA submission and a new pickup. The two cards from PSA were scooped and sent in November; I wasn’t going to fool around with either one. Each is for sets that I continue to chip away at and each is a very exceptional copy, for their assigned and accurate grades. (I think, anyway.)
Last, but certainly not least, I'll start by saying that I am going with the 'PSA Name' for this one. When you are trying to add the greatest baseball legend of all time to your collection, you sometimes must look out of the normal purview and get a little creative. Some cool stuff? It is already checklisted by name (though the name does not appear anywhere on the card) and it appears as card number 60 in the series (I know, right?) plus I believe the image itself is from Japan in 1934. If I should send it to PSA for slabbage, it would be #2, though I am pretty sure SGC has encapsulated a few as well.

I've been hunting this tobacco display for almost 2 decades. It usually goes for way too much - at the National a few years back Hunt Auctions had one for sale @ $950!
It also came with an "open" empty pack but I already had a full pack that I picked up years ago.
The display is 10.5" tall - the booklets are like "notepads" with some players in the back with bio's.
THAT is stupid cool. FANTASTIC

Took my son to the Jacksonville Sports Cards & Collectibles Show today. It was a packed house! Lots of folks all different ages. Plenty of newer stuff, vintage, pokemon, autos, etc... I came home with this beauty:

Or at least baseball. Or at least modern baseball.
Fresh back from PSA. Crossed over another blue label ITP to a dual service add on. Thankfully Jackie helped me retain the in the presence designation. The other one I own is from the same 4/5/12 signing event, but different card.

Now home from Newport Beach, I’m kicking off this months pickup thread with an item that slips nicely into my collection. It took some time to find it, some time to ID it and some time to submit the research. The end result is a beautiful piece that can be described with four wonderful words:
First graded, Mickey Mantle.
Let’s see what the good folks of CU landed this month!!!!
You must have the magic touch Tim Thanks for letting me know they are recognizing them. Doing the research and finding new items is a lot of fun!

Ben,
You are a good egg; thanks for the kind words.
Yes, the research is certainly a very enjoyable aspect of collecting for me. As you well know, there’s a lot more out there that needs to chronicled for future generations.
I also no you are quite an excellent researcher and your Master set unleashes the green eyed monster.
Keep up the good work, Ben!

Blacked out for personal reasons but just got some Brady's back just in time for win #7.
Have to go to work but will show off more as I scan the sub in.
Here's a nice, graded example I recently grabbed of a suddenly "hot" card. I was unaware of the cards status when I bought it, quite frankly, but this (and card #1 even more so) have seen a nice gain in both popularity and desirability post Mandalorian finale. One of my favorite sets, sport or non, that Topps ever produced. If you’re my age, you have memories of these on your bedroom floor or closet shoebox, somewhere in the deep recesses, I’d bet.

Some of my favorites from my recent PSA order I just got back. Love the Mega Ohtani card, always thought it was a really cool design.
nice full "w" soto! while there is no real price premium paid for this today, if he keeps doing what he is doing, i am of the opinion that this little distinguishment will command a hefty premium down the road. don't let that 9 flip fool you. thats a great card and definitely a keeper!
Thanks Tim that's appreciated ! I enjoy others show offs. What I enjoy just as much is sharing that joy with others. Provides that little extra collecting juice. Its what I miss most about shows & the National. Never went to any show for the cards- always the peeps & the lunches/dinners/chilling times.
Sunday night SB bidders cost me a lot of money on future PC buys but oh well.
More scans. Slow slog as I am doing an insurance inventory and have to go to/from every day to either secure storage or the lock box at the bank. More to follow had about 10 Brady on this sub with about 40 other PC items.
And sorry for lateness of posts but by the time I get done scanning in am at energy peak, so posting late night before work.
The Final Score is one of those master set cards where you go "what the ?" Serial numbered #11/14 hard to see on back. Nothing special just a pic variation with foiling and serial number stamping. Mundane Brady buy back when. Very cheap.
Brees is another first ballot been slabbing all his stuff now also. PSA has several hundred of my Brady / Manning / Brees items in their queue. Subbing all hoop / football now so they return for the season start in 2021. Baseball no longer care when they pop just subbing every month I'll deal with whenever they pop and sit on what I need to.
Most of what I'll show is PC lockbox stuff this week.
@NGS428 nice “Carp”! You might not know this, but I collect signed cards of Carpenter. Here is a link to the ones I have so far. Three more are currently at PSA in the CU group sub from last summer.
