Thanks Dan, sort of, just very slowly. It's one of those projects that I don't spend a lot of time or money on but when one comes up that seems to fit what I value for eye appeal and stays under comps I pick them up.
Collecting anything and everything relating to Roger Staubach
Been looking for a nice McGwire auto on an 85 Topps USA baseball team card for awhile. wanted one that was dual service, and non-streaked or faded. I hate the fact I paid what I did for this, but I think it was one of the nicest McGwire autos ive seen on an 85 Topps where the card itself was decently centered and the auto was bold and fresh.
Seems like quite a bit came back from PSA/DNA recently- coincidence?
Forgive the skittles (I'm diabetic I don't eat them) but somebody busted the box open as it apparently was burning a hole in somebody's hands
@dictoresno by the way if you don't mind me asking what did that set you back? Been selling my PC on and offline of Mac and haven't had 5 minutes to gauge the dual auto/rookie card business

That Ryan 1991 UD was a tough pull back in the day. Very nice!
This kid seems to have finally found his game again and I didn't have a copy of this RY issue I was satisfied with. These are typically horribly OC to the right so I'm not sure how any have received a 9 and I highly doubt a 10 will ever pop of this one ...
I bought a few boxes of 2016 TH highs on sale (less an 90 bucks per)
I pulled a few really nice Merrifield RCs (no 10s) and when I was down to the last box with only a few packs left?
I thought to myself: "wouldn't it be cool to pull a Trout auto?"
Well (now I know this sounds like a "bull" story) - I open the pack and this pops up! Ya can't even make this kind of stuff up.
I believe I'll send it in and get the auto graded since it's one of his stronger autos - IMO - he tends to sign on the light side. The card is not a 10 under the loupe.
In terms of lacrosse cards, the 1992 STX-Nastasi set is much like 1986 Fleer basketball. A previous lacrosse set had not been issued for many years, so most of the cards in this set would be considered rookie cards. The Gait Brothers, two of the most popular players in history, both have multiple cards in the set. They also have earlier cards, but those were essentially team or league issues, so I guess these would be considered rookie cards also. Anyway, I found an unopened box, as well as a group of the various Gait cards.
Todd Tobias - Grateful Collector - I focus on autographed American Football League sets, Fleer & Topps, 1960-1969, and lacrosse cards.
Mike - so happy for you. Could not have happened to a nicer guy. Hope to meet you at the National one of these years. That’s one of those “grades be dammed”. I just want it slabbed. Congrats!

Collector of 1976 Topps baseball for some stupid reason. Collector of Pittsburgh Pirates cards for a slightly less stupid reason. My Pirates Collection
For several years in the mid70s-early 80s (1975-82 I have found), team checklist sheets were offered, usually through wrapper mail-in offers. The sheets have a lighter stock/white back. It would appear, w/o seeing the back, that this is one of those cards hand cut from one of those sheets.
I collect Steve Garvey, Dodgers and signed cards. Collector since 1978.

I see. I've never (knowingly) seen these before. Are they numbered the same as the regular Topps cards?
Great pick up! I mean, he's probably going to be in the Hall.
Earlier this year I was thinking of picking one up (I already have a signed copy) and was really surprised at the prices at that time. Even the raw cards.

Yea same, but it’s his only rookie card where as others from his era have 20 plus and there are only 80 10’s.
Awesome! I have a couple signed cards of his. They are the 70-71 Topps leaders cards also signed by Esposito and Bucyk. I was going to set up a group card submission for him soon. I have a few more to send in.

Nice to meet another signed Orr collector. From what I've seen over the years there are only a few of them. I check the population report once a year and see that not too many signed cards are added to the list.
Sending in cards to Orr is a crap shoot. Sometimes you get back good ones and sometimes bad. With this recent send in I asked Ron to have everything signed in black. They all came back blue. It's not a game changer, but it is what it is. When spending $125 per auto, you'd think they could use the color of your choice. But that's the way it is with Ron Blanchard, he thinks the way he wants, and doesn't go out of his way.

just under $400 which is way more than the previous sale of a similar one. but the auto on this one is way nicer than the others ive seen so to me, it was worth it. and yes, 4SC had subbed a few.
Only picked up 1 card today at the card show but it was so worth it. The nicest 54 topps Ted Williams 1 I have ever seen especially raw. Super hard to find anything in good shape for this card.
Found a group of really nice '58s to purchase (the '53s are from the same person) and then added the Snider from Ebay.
Have always loved '53 Bowman and do not have many.
The Mantle and Aaron were message board purchases - very happy to finally get Mantle for my '55 Bowman HOF set. Down to 4 left. Will reholder the cracked Mantle case next time I get to a National. The Aaron seemed very reasonably priced with the recent Aaron run-ups. Love the '77 cloth stickers and glad to have one of the test predecessors now.
