Fifty minutes and still cannot do a batch order of 5 small flat rates Priority Mail.
edited to add: This feels like ordering from the Mint!!!!
edited to add again: I just clicked on pay button and it made the order $0 for the third time after waiting 10 minutes or more each time. It takes 2 and 3 times to add someone in the address book to the batch.
Don't waste your money! My clerk even told me today Priority is taking 2 weeks! I'm having those 1st class shipments that don't end up sitting in a truck somewhere beating Priority mail. There is no rhyme or reason as to which will move along and which will fall into the abyss.

I had my first item come up missing today, it was lost from the system on 8 Dec, no updates since. My local postal clerk said that one of two things happened:
- It was delivered but not scanned (unlikely in my opinion because it was 1500 miles from destination)
- It is in a warehouse somewhere waiting to get sorted
2020 keeps getting better! I am going to upgrade shipments to priority to see if anything improves. I don't know if it is going to help but I have a sneaky suspicions that Express and Priority are getting some special treatment.

Thanks for your advice.

i have been upgrading to priority mail the last week, first class packages just sit in one spot for several days and don't move. i would think Wednesday (today) would be the cut off day for getting packages before Christmas. any day after that would be up in the air
Have 2 registered packages from November that haven’t arrived yet. Priority mail seems to be averaging 18-20 days for the ones that have shown up (I’m in the northeast fwiw). Sent two priority mail express packages within 40 miles one took 8 days and the other 12 days I believe. I’m done until next year I think. I feel awful for the postal clerks that are going to deal with disgruntled customers over Christmas packages.
I'm waiting on several deliveries that should have been here last week. However, one item came through on time - a fellow in New York sent me an Express Mail package on Monday and it made down here to South Carolina on Tuesday. So, for his $39.95, he got his money's worth.
I've got two different packages from different sources heading my way in which the tracking indicates that the packages were accepted by USPS and sent off to the next facility, only to be updated that USPS has only received pre-shipment info at the original location 12-24 hours later, and are awaiting the items. Both are travelling West Coast to East Coast, which is virtually always a slog, but now I'm left to wonder if they'll ever arrive.
Did anyone say DHL?

this hav=s nothing to do with being overworked.
was told in DE that most mail now goes by container ship because there are way too many employees on sick leave.
what a lame excuse!!
I have a package that's been sitting in Boston for 12 days. FINALLY on the move today. Delivery " guaranteed " on Dec. 5th. No, I'm not filing a claim as this has been going on for several months now. BE PATIENT ( I keep telling myself )
Sure.... shut down society and expect delivery yesterday. What is annoying me is having coins delivered and received by TPG (USPS did their part), in November; and still not entered into the TPG's system, nor any correspondence acknowledging receipt.
And if that weren't bad enough... I ordered a couple proof sets and unc sets from the mint 3 weeks ago and it is still "processing". What gives there ? It's not like the 2020 proof sets (clad or silver) are rare or limited.
I order gold and it's delivered in a day or two.
Okay, rant over. I'll find another gripe, soon enough.
So, the real question is, should you file ebay claims or not? I hate filing claims... but you only have a limited amount of time to do it. I have a couple coins that may start approaching the deadline to file a claim. I would hate doing it, but that's the only way you are protected.

A seller doesn't need a claim to be filed with eBay in order to provide a refund. If one feels the need to be protected, perhaps one might rethink how one is choosing sellers to buy from.

it is eBay that does the delivery guarantee - if you say not arrived by then, you get $10 voucher to apply to future purchase

I would contact the seller first and then file the claims as the deadline approaches.
Unless it is someone you buy from frequently, there's no way to know how responsive any seller is. I take care of my people, but 99% of "my people" don't know that. Even the repeat buyers don't know that because they've never had a problem that needed me to take action.
While I am still patiently waiting because I understand their troubles, I have 4 packages outstanding: 2 from Heritage and 2 from a local auction house. Here's the interesting part:
The Heritage packages shipped fine and traveled all the way to Rochester NY, where I am. I have "informed delivery" which tells me exactly what's arriving in the mail the next day. Well, last Wednesday both Heritage packages showed up as delivering on Thursday. They did not and now just show "in transit".
The two local packages were coming from Geneva, about 45 miles away. They both shipped on Friday. On Sunday, they both showed up on "informed delivery" as arriving on Monday. They did not and now they both just show up as "in transit".
It's odd. I'm sure they'll arrive (eventually) but it is interesting that USPS thought they WERE arriving but changed their mind. LOL.

If you only buy from the established guys, you are missing out on lots of good coins. Some of my best buys have been small sellers.
I sold a pcgs certified coin on the BST that I shipped out on December 4, 2020. Tracking went to a couple of spots and than disappeared in the USPS system. It is now the 16th, and I have no idea where the coin is. It is insured but when do you pull the pin and submit a claim? mh

Yes, I was aware of that. Problem is USPS, not eBay. Hence not filing a claim. Although I would like to have my coin sooner, it's not that big of a deal, as long as it gets here. Trying times we live in. I'm just hoping this doesn't become the " new normal "

Late November. I have another week and a half or so before I would really consider filing a claim. But the deadline is around Christmas, which is a busy time and I would likely forget... so I may file next week if they are not here yet. Just to start the process. I think it then gives you more time to work with the seller, etc.
not amazed it's almost the holidays, people are doing the ship packages off idea, plus the flu isn't helping matters so yeah things will be slow, but if sending coins or anything important I ship first class mail with tracking that way I know it's on the way to where ever I send it

I insist on standing in line for an "Acceptance" scan and a hard copy receipt. Color me Type A(nal).
I'm not sure what in this thread leads you to believe that. Standing in line won't get it there faster, which was the topic being discussed. I'm sure a lot of people on this thread are equally Type A.

I wouldn't start with a claim. File a "Locate Mail" request. 99% of the time, it turns up within 24 hours and continues its journey.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic, we are experiencing Delays in Processing and Shipping orders. We are also experiencing High Call Volume and High Volume of emails leading to delayed response times. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Standard shipments are being delayed 3-5 weeks due to increased safety procedures and vendor and carrier slowdowns. As soon as an order ships, each client will receive an email with their tracking number.
Hold Times are higher than usual and our response to emails sent to Bid@HA.com are also experiencing significant delays.
We are doing everything we can to expedite shipments and responses to emails and phone calls.

I should have included this quote from one of the posts in which it was stated the packages did not even show in the system the next day:
"I dropped off a batch of five small flat rate priority mail boxes yesterday morning at my Post Office in Timonium, MD. As of today at 1:30pm EST, two have not been scanned into the system, and three are at Teterboro, NJ Distribution Ctr."
My assumption is these were dropped without waiting for an acceptance scan.
