I shipped a low value coin ($46) on Jan.3, On the 19th the impatient buyer said that he did not get it and demanded a refund . I did forget to use the tracking on this item. The case is still open. 16 days is way to early, I think he got the coin by now and is going to steal it by lying. It's most likely a case of buyer's remorse. I wait at least 4 weeks before I inquire on a package right now. People need to be more patient, especially right now. I don't care how long an order takes to get here, just as long as it gets here.

Generate your labels with www.paypal.com/shipnow and you won't have to worry about forgetting tracking because it's included and it's FREE!

I do not sell enough stuff to make it worthwhile to buy a label maker. But, I will look into it.

You don't need a label maker. All you need is a regular old inkjet printer. eBay labels is actually the better way to do it - if it is an eBay sale. They are generally cheaper than PayPal and they automatically upload the tracking information so the buyer can see it.

You can either use regular paper and tape it on the envelope or you can buy self-adhesive shipping labels that go right in the printer.

99.9999999% of what I ship is non-Bay sales so I prefer the PP way.

Yes, of course. Although even then I think there are other options which may be cheaper.

    Such as?

You'd have to look at some of the commercial sites. There's "Ship Rush", I believe is the name of one of them, and other similar operations that are designed to provide commercial rate shipping to small businesses. I think "shippo", maybe? Something like that, it always makes me think "hippo".

Did the tracking time stamp on the delivered packages match the delivery time or the out for delivery time? A lot of times they may scan them as delivered before they start their route.

The October package never was scanned as delivered. Just out for delivery. It must have been put in the wrong mail box without even being scanned. But due to the same situation almost happening last week, makes me wonder about the competence of the person who delivered it. Until it happened to me, I never heard of a package being out for delivery, and just disappearing.

The three packages received last week were scanned at the time of delivery.

Are people having major issues still? It's been great for me since the new year, just got a priority non express from california to illinois in 36 hours. I also mailed PCGS a registered package I was expecting to take 2 month and it got there in 5 days but maybe registered never had issues since it's a separate style program and always takes it's time anyways?

I've mailed a handful of packages so far this year. Only one was on time. The rest were a day early! :o

The last few packages I've sent or received with tracking (first class and priority) have taken three days to be delivered. Half the first page of comments on my eBay feedback page mention fast shipping (mostly first class without tracking) and I haven't received a "Where's my stuff?" message from a buyer since November. Things seem to be working okay here.

I'm glad others are benefiting from the improved USPS mail service.

My package to PCGS and one to GreatCollections were there in two business days shipped recently.

I'm still waiting on three USPS packages. Two are from Heritage, both going on two weeks.

The other package(with a tracer on it) is over a month now....inexcusable.

Anyone else still having problems getting their packages at this point in time?

Your item departed our USPS facility in JAMAICA, NY 11430 on January 31, 2021 at 4:45 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination.

As of 0630 this morning, it is somewhere between Jamaica, NY and the my local USPS in OKC. Going on three days with no report of its whereabouts? Registered mail may be the safest, but it sure is one of the least widely communicated on its tracking. Its just a matter of time. Priority Mail seems to be moving quite well.

Yep, never got the jeans I ordered mid-November. I'm guessing they were stolen from a local warehouse, which is the location of the last tracking update. The seller sent me a replacement pair via UPS after a few weeks, so it hasn't caused me any stress fortunately.

Just in from the Washington Post:

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy is preparing to put all first-class mail onto a single delivery track, according to two people briefed on his strategic plan for the U.S. Postal Service, a move that would mean slower and more costly delivery for both consumers and commercial mailers.

DeJoy, with the backing of the agency’s bipartisan but Trump-appointed governing board, has discussed plans to eliminate a tier of first-class mail — letters, bills and other envelope-sized correspondence sent to a local address — designated for delivery in two days. Instead, all first-class mail would be lumped into the same three- to five-day window, the current benchmark for nonlocal mail.

That class of mail is already struggling; only 38 percent was delivered on time at the end of 2020, the Postal Service reported in federal court. Customers have reported bills being held up, and holiday cards and packages still in transit. Pharmacies and prescription benefits managers have told patients to request medication refills early to leave additional time for mail delays. The agency has not disclosed on-time scores yet in 2021.

Much more -- follow up on your news choice...

registered mail doesn't get scanned nearly as much as normal mail.

that said, if the masses deem 11 days too long (across the country... not unheard of) then it should be easy to do a mail trace on it.

You can file an inquiry after 10 days, I believe. Personally, it would have to go weeks before I'd "worry" with registered mail. They are (usually) very secure but (almost always) very slow.

I’ve got two eBay packages I shipped almost 2 weeks ago sitting in transit but late. One buyer filed a claim the first day possible. Package still hasn’t moved. Hopefully when eBay yanks the money out of my managed payment balance they choke on it. The other seems content to wait a bit.

  • DBSTrader2DBSTrader2 Posts: 3,498 ✭✭✭✭

I'm also still experiencing late delivery issues. I had one package arrive in just a matter of days here on the East Coast from the state of Washington. On the other hand, I am still waiting on a package sent from Utah that was supposed to arrive on the 18th by 9p. Tracking showed accepted/sent by USPS on the 13th. Then departed that location 4 days later, with no follow-up status after the "in-transit to next destination" message on the 17th. It was not until after the 18th that the expected date/time was removed from my tracking, but no follow-up tracking status reports received.

I don't know whether it was just a coincidence or not, but the day after I sent in a complaint (and was supposed to receive a follow-up contact), I suddenly got a Tracking update indicating the package had arrived at a nearby Post Office. Of course, 2 days later, still no delivery or further status update.

But, similarly to Goldbully, I also received a USPS survey asking "how did we do in resolving your issue?". I replied that they did poorly, since I still hadn't received any contact or resolution. Frustrating. While I understand & appreciate their situation (not to mention the recent weather-related delays), I feel they are not doing anything to ease that frustration.

Shipped 5 coins this year (All registered mail). Four were delivered to date.. The fifth was shipped 2 days ago.

    NY to Virginia. 7 days.

    NY to Buffalo 14 days

    Ma to Texas 9 days

    Ma to Florida 5 days.

    Go figure?

I've had quite a few of those. Luckily they were lower priced coins. Unfortunately, not all ebay buyers are understanding or ethical.

I have problems here in fly over country (South Dakota). Shipped a package to Maine on Febr. 12 and it has been in transit since Febr 13 when it left the sorting facility. So far my customer has been patient, but I know he is aggravated. Everything I have sent west and south has arrived in 4 days or less. Seems like if you have to go thru Indiana (towards the northeast) you can expect major delays. Packages I am expecting from the northeast are over 13 days out with no tracking since leaving original sorting site.
