Some more of the wacky stuff I collect. First is from the 1935 Wills Association Footballers set. Purchased this one for submission because i haven’t been successful convincing PSA that they have mislabeled the 1939 version currently in CA and about to ship.
Second is the 2020 first round selection of my beloved Philadelphia Flyers.
Last is a super cheap crossover purchase of one of my favorite Flyers players now coaching the Hurricanes.
Thanks Flatfoot816! Even though I already have a 1964 Topps Baseball wax pack PSA-7 3rd Series (Sandy Koufax Series)...I could not resist adding this beautiful pack to my collection since it was back in the day (1964) that I started collecting baseball cards (first packs I opened). It has sentimental value...
I have most of the '56 HOFers now may go for the set if I ever decide to pay up for a Mantle. A seller accepted a fair offer on a 5% Bucks day
The '61 and '68 are both towards my HOF sets. Both were Ebay purchases - Fox the seller accepted an offer and put my Bucks for the quarter towards the Robinson.
Special thanks to Nic for helping me with the scanning. Frozencaribou you asked about the scanning on the Mac with Silverlight. I downloaded a trial of Photoshop Elements 2021 and the color correction works great. I am going to purchase after the trial is finished. Nic's guide shows you how to correct and I found cropping easier in photoshop than outside of it.

Scans are looking great! Glad we were able to work through it!

'56 Topps of the 3 x MVP and only 10 time WS Champion...... most in MLB history..... this fella gets a lot of laughs in the folklore of MLB but I think most overlook his talent ... overshadowed by Mantle etc. & undervalued IMO...........
Gorgeous! Would look good paired with Larsen’s from the same set!
I really like that 85 Mattingly also, the colors and photo and design just work well.
But an 'oldie but goodie'? Oh you young whippersnappers! Get off my lawn!
Whoops sorry, just feeling my age today.
This very tough in high grade card was originally auctioned two years ago. After a lot of bid stacking and running up it sold for $588, about $450 more than it is worth 😂. I was very disappointed at the time because it’s the nicest copy of this card I’ve ever seen. Someone up there likes me because it showed up on eBay again recently and I managed to pick it up for a decent approximation of its actual value....
I was picking up a birthday card for my nephew at Walmart, and figured let me go check the (usually) empty card section. I've never been to Walmart when they were stocking the shelves with cards. Now to keep unopened or rip?
would hold and sell. i don't think there are any 1st bowmans in there and any autos are super tough. not 100%. but the fact you found anything modern on the shelf at all is an apparent winner. go buy a scratch off immediately. 😄
there's been an APB out for Jordan Spieth's game for over three years now. whether or not he'll ever regain his form is the million-dollar question that has been asked a million times. regardless, he's my fav modern-day golfer and that will never change.
picked up this JS ball in a golf auction a few weeks ago; the nicest i have ever seen. and if you know anything about his autographs, then you know a seismic change took place after he won three majors and became a rock star in the sport at a young age. if you had the foresight to go after his graph circa 2013 (when this ball was signed), then you had a good chance of acquiring a similar, legible specimen. now? it's all but a pipe dream. not only do he and his hand move very briskly thru scores of people, but he's also very leery of adults -- especially middle-aged males. if he suspects you are a flipper and not a cherisher, then you best fasten your seat belt.
for example, i invite you to click on the link below the ball. it's like he started to sign for this brother in Rhode Island, then decided to give him one big long underscore. 😆
I can’t wait for the next switch hitting centerfielder of the New York Yankees to arrive. While I wait, I keep trying to pick off some of the variations that appeal to me. This is - I think - the one with the highest print run; intuitively it just makes sense to me that these are printed in greatest quantity. Quite literally the only player who debuted this century whose cards I have. And he never played a game yet...

UD literally made it to 3rd base with that design. Card back is solid too. Great photo! Love the base cards!

What grade are you trying to cross this to?
My favorite Mattingly card. Nice example!

Same here!
Ideally a 10 but I’ll settle for a 9. Haven’t gotten it in hand yet so if it looks like a 9 is not realistic, I’m only out about $8.

I'd be impressed if a FGS card crosses at grade.

One of my favorite cards of all time. I pulled one at the end of 1987. It was a HUGE thrill. Still love pulling that card, brings me right back.

Took a chance and added this to my boys HOF RC Collection. With 70% of the vote last year and a really weak class this year,I think he gets in.
@1951WheatiesPremium ... You have some pretty darned interesting items in your collection. Well done, sir.
Todd,
I’m not sure one can receive a higher form of praise, especially considering the source.
