Ryno. 10 consecutive all star appearances and 9 consecutive gold gloves from 1983-1991, HOF in 2005, and 1984 NL MVP. He was named after relief pitcher Ryne Duren.
Here's something a little different:
Pete Capello's Kansas City Royals duffle bag (1986 - ish) filled with 4 boxes of all 70's football, baseball, basketball, and hockey cards. A few thousand cards. 2 of the taped closed "Macy's type shirt boxes" haven't been opened in probably over 30 years. The rubber bands are so old, they just fall apart on the bundles. I just started going through about half the top box. Lots of fun.
Hey Moose! Rocco! Help the Judge find his checkbook, will ya!
I wanted to add a Steph Curry to my collection and I pulled the trigger last week on this 2009 Topps Gold. It arrived the other day and here it is. POP is 64 with only 21 higher. Arguable the best shooter of all-time.

Another one for the 80-95 Rookie Set
i love that the ryno rc is actually card #83. hadn't researched it, but can't be many other coincidences that the card number coincides w the year.

I didn’t put that one together. You sure are right about that one. Most of those other cards must be commons, will have to keep my eye out.
I decided to finally grab a mid grade Star rookie of MJ before it became completely unreachable for me. I had to part with some pretty rare stuff of his to fund this buy but it was totally worth it IMO. The top left corner is a bit more worn than the others and it’s got about a 1/2” gouge/scratch near the bottom left corner just above the Bulls logo.
This has been #1 on my whale list since I was a kid and it’s great to finally pair these two together!

Michael, cards from the 1800s are just so friggin cool!
Thanks Dan. I hope to be able to pick up a HOFer from each of Buchner Gold Coin, Ginter, Old Judge, and Goodwin’s Champions. I love the chest protector on the King Kelly so decided to go with the Good Coin for him.

The one you have of Snead looks to have been part of the ‘find’ and - correct me if I am wrong - was never assembled and is immaculate condition.
This one was, looks to have sat on a shelf and contained cereal at one time and taking it apart would see it do poorly grade-wise and I think it would lose some of it’s panache, too.
Yours are made for grading; I think this guy is best left free range...
Great to hear from you, Kyle, as always.
Hope you’re well!

Also October pickups, freshly scanned. Working on the set in complete panel form with all variations. Hope to get the others scanned in this week. Not quite done, trying to be a little picky. Two wonderfully villainous characters from pop culture from arguably the best film in the series, I present to you some cards that were produced in 1980 to help promote one of the most anticipated sequels in movie history and a brand new candy bar from Hershey's; the one pictured first below.

My favorite NFL player ever. Rarely talked about when discussing the great backs of all time. Such a smooth and exciting back to watch run the ball. Retired as the 2nd leading rusher of all time. Would’ve loved to see what he could’ve done behind the Cowboys O-line of the 90’s
know this isnt much of a modern board, group isnt big on breaks or the insta platform, but did a few sapphire breaks w ex-pitcher phil hughes the other night on his instafeed. being a soto collector that i am, this juan in a million pull was pretty fun. pulling a red 1/5 yordan auto was less exhilirating, but still! 😉

I love that card. I also love the 82 set and Topps ability to use logos again. Of course I also love Tony D.
At long last I was able to find a 1986 Topps Roger Clemens Blue Streak error. It’s off center but I’ll take what I can get.

Nice. I had the same idea this month. Took a while to find one that wasn’t OC, tilt or a variety of other issues. He’s gotta get in this year.

One of the toughest ‘72s out there! Had to wait for the nicest 8 I could find as a 9 goes for $700+...

Probably not.

Pickup from a recent ‘72 set break. Renko IA is usually tough, but this one is cut perfectly!

Downgraded from a PSA-9 to a PSA-8.5 (PWCC-A)...

So what happened there?
Saving $$$...
Maybe he means he replaced his 9 with the 8.5 because he likes it better?
Bonus, because the 8.5 has noticeably better eye appeal, IMO!

Wilkerson on your radar? He has the same, but not publicized that much due to, obviously less popularity. I suspect there are others
picked up a few hof 80's football rookies the last two months. just now would be a good time showing them.
Can’t wait to break this open
