Ok. Thanks. Did not see that.
Value subs are definitely shipping. A friend of mine just had grades pop on his $30 value sub from July 13. Cool for him, disappointing to say the least for people still waiting on stuff from last year. I have another economy sub that is still in R&ID that has been there over 3 weeks. My previous dozen or so econ subs would have been in grading for a week at this point. Although I will say my last econ sub hit grading and was done in just 7 days. See what happens with this one. I also noticed the "$18 July National Special" all changed to "value 1995-earlier/1996-later" now as well. Technically a higher tier so curious how quickly those move through.
Also had a question for the group - with PSA releasing the $22 bulk level, did that move the needle for anyone? I don't think I'll be using it at all. Even my cheaper HOF cards I have for my set are borderline worth the $22 even though I don't care about the 120-150 day turnaround. I think I'll stick with $30 value or $50 economy. For an extra $8 on the value tier I get 250% more declared value and 30-60 faster turnaround. $22 for a card to take 5 months that is only worth 199 or less just isn't worth it to me. I really don't see that tier being very busy.
Had my final order from the back log pop this week. Monday went to assembly Friday it was mailed. No up charges even though they could have. Which is much appreciated.
Will sit back and watch how things go from here as I now have no pending orders. Hope they fix the issues with damaged corners and creases. Im still nervous to send in cards at the moment. But This last order went about how it used to go in the past.

Same. I pretty much squeezed in everything I would have graded at that tier into the National special, so I've accumulated maybe like 5 cards since then that I would be willing to grade at this price. The 25 card minimum is a killer for me. I'll wait for the next price drop and/or special.
I have some crossovers I'd like to do, but they are way too costly at this point as they make you pick Economy for those.
I have plenty to grade I just want to feel comfortable sending them in. Of the last 10 orders Ive had they all didnt go as planed I guess.Cards came back with extra wear and damage. July $18 Special (20x 1996-Newer):
Arrived: 7/13
Logged: 7/19

Grading: 7/29

QA2: 9/6
Poppage: 9/9
Very happy with the results! One 7, three 8s, seven 9s, and NINE 10s!! Much faster than I expected when they were talking about it maybe taking six months or longer.
Here are my 10s:
2001 Upper Deck Golf 1 Tiger Woods

2003 Upper Deck Lebron James Phenomenal Beginnings 18 LeBron James Gold
2003 Upper Deck Lebron James Phenomenal Beginnings 18 LeBron James Gold

2005 Topps Total 483 Aaron Rodgers
2005 Upper Deck NFL Rookie Materials 91 Aaron Rodgers
2015 Bowman Chrome Autograph Rookies CW Christian Walker Chrome-Gold Refractor
The $18 price was about as much as I would want to spend on cards that push the $199 value threshold. Not planning on using the current $22 bulk option.
I have two economy submissions from 6/14 and 6/17 that have been in Grading forever. We're just about at the supposed 90 day turnaround time at this point. I decided to pay for the higher economy rate just to get them done sooner. Now I see I could have waited until the offer of cheaper grading with a '120 day turnaround'. Aargh!

Same, except mine was entered 5/24. Not sure if they're lost, but since mine are Mac Jones cards I might be better off if they were lol.
@vbacon & @demondeacs That is very unusual for economy. I've had two economy subs since your entered dates that are both already returned back to me.
Entered: 05/18/22 Grades: 06/30/22 and Entered: 08/22/22 grades: 08/30/22. I do have another economy that was received 8/19 and not entered until 9/6 that is still in R&ID for some reason which is unusual.
My value shows shipped as of yesterday and of course I peaked. All cards I broke out of BGS holders came back as I expected 1 grade lower, newer cards that I expected 9s on I was quite surprised to get a handful of 10s. One new 2020 Prizm card received a 6 which is very suspicious and I expect to find a damaged corner or something. Another surprise is a Topps Chrome card that is fairly off center that I added last minute to fill out the 20 card minimum.....it was one of the 10s!

If they hit the shipping stage the grades should already be available.
Not yet for me. It's in the Shipping stage, but the shipping stage isn't completed yet. Also, on the My Orders pages, the little green checkmark is not there yet to signify Certs Ready.
The last of my March 2021 submissions is in QA check now. They really cranked these out fast in the past month. Over the last four weeks, I've had two crossovers and three vintage submissions process. I wonder if they're going to loosen the screws a bit on pricing to start replenishing their backlog? They need to keep feeding their grading room with 26,000 cards a day to keep their graders busy. $22 bulk pricing isn't going to get that done.

I would think the price lowering will continue to be gradual so they don’t accidentally spike demand too much. However, they should have an active special perhaps running in parallel with the $22 bulk.
@MarshallFaulk28 my understanding is that bulk will be the “lowest tier” of every day grading. There will be specials that will be cheaper but the base grading services will bottom out at bulk $22
I think $22 for now, but I imagine this one and all the other tiers will eventually come down. At least that’s what Nat said previously. Their demand levels at the various prices will dictate their pricing. If we keep paying the current prices, they’ll stick around a while.
Perhaps. I have it on good authority that “you will never see a $12 rate again”. Maybe a special but I doubt that too. Personally I’d like to see a $12 90-120 day $99 max special. I’d send in a lot of cards if that happened. Of course so would everyone else and we would be back in the same backlog he’ll we’ve been in for 18 months. 😁
I think I tend to agree with the no more $12 prices except for specials. I could see them getting bulk down to maybe $15 in time though. They have so much more capacity right now than back then and even more coming still, so they are going to have to hit some kind of price point that keeps the pipeline constantly full.
I can’t see myself submitting for a while. The prices a still high for me. Especially if they don’t improve their customer service. The debacle that I posted about at the end of August still hasn’t been resolved. I have sent emails weekly and have tried calling multiple times. I had another teacher come watch my students a few times to call customer service as they open up. I called once 4 minutes after the lines opened to be placed 63rd on their call back list. Received a call 5 hours later while at football practice. Surely they can find people to answer phones and send emails. It’s just unacceptable. Those issues with a couple of the worst grades I’ve ever received have compounded my current disgust with PSA.
lots of interesting points, 1M cards a month is a lot of cards to add to the market in a shaky economy. run of the mill stuff is not going to be worth it for the resellers. so that means it would have to be a big chunk of pc stuff. it seems inevitable that prices will be lower next year. controlling with specials makes sense because once we get out of this economic funk there will be lots of demand , assuming modern holds up
On my recent 20-card sub, I received some cards in standard slabs and some in thick-card slabs. Some were from the exact same set but different slabs. What up with that? Anyone else having this happen?
@MarshallFaulk28 said:
Huh! That's weird. Those slabs should be for thicker cards like jersey cards. Does the card move around much in the thicker slab?
No, because the card in the thicker slab is inside a soft plastic sleeve.

I noticed the economy and regular subs get this clear plastic sheet put on top of them, it wasn't actually a sleeve. I did not get that on any of my backlog stuff from last year and it doesn't appear to be in any of my old economy ($20) sub from 2020 either. Not sure if it's new to all service levels or just $50 econ and above or if specific cards get it.
That is just cheap I would contact them and tell them the card is unsalable in the current oversize
holder. Then make them take it back and put it in the right holder and pay for all your shipping cost.

I'm just a little surprised that the one in Shipping has been there for I think 4 days now and hasn't budged... still the certs are not even available.

Bummer. I'm paid the higher economy price cuz it was all that was available at the time. I figured that would get me in the 90 day window, but I just passed that with only one of two going from grading to Assembly.
I also had an auto that did just make the 90 day window. It flew pretty fast once it got to Assembly.
@jayhawke 60 Mantle, 60 Musial, and 69 Brooks Robinson were the main ones. I actually bent the 65 Carlton while handling the card prior to shipping and just said eff it and left it in the sub.
To a lesser degree, the lower PSA 4 60 Koufax and 4.5 60 Mays were surprises.
Quarterly Special (27 cards):
PSA Arrived: 4/2/21
Date Received: 5/10/21
Research & ID: 4/9/22
Grading: I can't remember what day it went into Grading but it has been stuck there for close to three months.
my question is why are the quarterly specials all popping and progressing faster than the $30 level that was opened weeks before. I had an $18 sub pop last night, another one move to QA2 yesterday as well as another one move to QA2 today while a $30 service level sub zoomed into QA1 rapidly and still sits there going on its 2nd month in the stage? What is the reasoning behind this, like most things PSA does, it makes 0 sense.

@jeffcbay Yep and no explanation as to why. I don't know if they ran out of the other slabs that day or what.

Thanks for the post ... now I have a Wooden card to go looking for!
That is fine until you or they accidently damage a card.
Successful card BST transactions with cbcnow, brogurt, gstarling, Bravesfan 007, and rajah 424.
I don't have a lot of experience here, but I think 'Grading' is where they linger for the longest. Once you get past that it's only a few days until it's shipped.
UPDATE: Just got on from 6/17 that moved to Assembly today.
2 weeks later grades just popped.
7 10's
6 9's
7 8's
Kinda disappointed with that many 8s but I know that 2020 QC on Metal Universe was pretty horrible.
Entered on 3/30/2021 and just popped. Submitted these through @jeffv96masters . Most are about what I expected. A couple I got hammered on and didn’t see it coming. Real happy with the 68 Topps and Venezuelans.

That's a great vintage submission. Overall looks like solid grades for vintage. I guess the '60 Mantle, '65 and '68 surprised you?
I have 3 active submissions that are all past grading. They seem to be not breezing through any of the QA1, QA2, or shipping stages for me. Actually, of my 3 orders, I have 1 in each of those 3 stages.
I just noticed this has gone into QA Check 2
