Be only concerned with how many ounces you own.

Not the 'price' of that ounce.

But will it keep up with the coming inflation? At least it will do a better job than a declining currency.

disagree. While BTC will temporarily steal thunder (funds) from gold it will eventually fall out of favor. Many technical or regulatory things can cause this. Face it - your money masters do not want to have to compete with cryptos, especially ones that can be used in lieu of dollars.

After many listed corporations decide to convert their cash holdings into BTC for "safety," (As Tesla and Square have been doing) a BTC crash at some point could cause a stock market crash.

I'd figure $5K gold, $25 silver, $0 bitcoin once the current cycle completes. 5-7 years max.

Are the prices really futures, or just a glimpse of the past?

Rhodium just hit $27,000. That price rise is like Tesla and bitcoin. It was available for $2,000 one year ago in March!

That is so depressing to see. I was on a management and engineering team that moved to Ghana for a few years to help start what is now a world class, gold mine.

That area in the Congo could be developed much safer by a real mining company and the the people and government could benefit from hundreds of longer term jobs if it is a viable geologic district. Chances are some of these artisanal miners will be using mercury to get the finer gold out, which is very damaging to them and their children. Of course the military will be there soon for their share.
