Where's Cohodk? Wasn't he one of the ones looking for $800 gold again? The bias runs strong in the gold deniers.

I too would like to see low gold, wouldn't that mean a stronger economy and dollar? It would also mean I could buy some without worrying that the bottom is going to fall out.

You had an excellent chance to get back in at under $1200 in August 2018. That was the last boat heading out. Ironic that so few will touch PMs when they are bloodied and out of favor.....as in summer 2013, fall 2015, summer 2018.

You can set the date on a chart to basically make it say whatever you want it to say. The missing 11 years would change the story dramatically.

Most recent chart I could find, I'll accept Van's answer to be correct. Maybe he can provide us an up to date chart.

It looks more like a chart of the marginal cost of gold production, which is largely predicated by the at-the-time costs of capital equipment, labor, regulatory compliance, and, --especially-- Fuel.

What does it matter? What matters is they all made the adjustment from inflation. Insurance.

    I don't have a current chart. I took the 1980 high of ~$850 and ran it through a CPI calculator. We've had 313% inflation since 1980. $850 X 3.13 = $2,660.

And the value of other assets since 1980 such as Treasury bonds, Sp500, single family house, average new car? What would be those prices?
