Whether collecting, flipping or whatever the motivation, I agree it is supposed to be fun. However, it may rub people the wrong way when someone has multiples of a “hot” item and comes here and says “get your lazy ass out of bed”. There seems to be a fine line in being lucky and being hubristic in their methods.
That said, I’m not one to throw stones. I’ve been known to buy multiple items of the “hot” item in the past. But I remained humble and wish all of my forum members luck in their pursuit.
Peace my friends!
Edited to add: I should also say, when I did buy multiple items of the “hot” item in the past, it was within the limits the mint set forth at that time.

I'm glad that the mint's rules don't apply for you and some other people. No one "deserves" to get a hot item. Get your one, be happy with it, and move one with your life.

Re getting multiples...most of us would try for more than 1...I know I would/have.
But that's still different than bots getting 20!
I really hope you are wrong. I hope "most of us" aren't that greedy and desperate to make a few bucks. And, that is absolutely no different than someone using a bot to try to cheat the mint's (1) per household limit.
What difference does it make if 100 people buy 10 each to flip or 1000 people buy 1 each to flip?
You also really need to consider what the HHL means specifically and what you think constitutes "morality" in what is a fundamentally business decision:
If I wanted to buy 4 to give one to each of my (imaginary) children, is that better or worse than buying only one to flip?
If I have all of my friends each buying one to flip to me, is that violating the HHL? After all, they each are buying one from a separate household.
Why is it more moral to buy the $10k coin for $2500 to put in your collection than it is to buy the $10k to flip it? Either way you are up $7500.

Personally, I have no problem with what you are doing. I don't think it is fundamentally different than what they are doing.
Unless they want to be buried with the coin, at some point they sell it. Are they going to donate any profits from their coins to charity because it would be somehow immoral to profit from them?

It is a household order limit. If you and you wife both wanted one, you couldn't both buy 1 if you live in the same household. On the other hand, if you have a summer place, you could buy two. The policy is based on addresses not individuals. 6 individuals at the same address cannot acquire 6 coins.
So, you can keep repeating "you are suppose to buy one" (sic), but that doesn't make it true. And even if it is true, having each of my 6 friends buy one and flip it IS within the rules. They are each entitled to one and each entitled to do whatever they want with the one.

That is 100% not the intent of the household limit. It would be more accurate to say that the "enforcement" is based on address, not the "policy." I agree there are easy ways to get around the limit and many people do. I suppose the mint didn't think they needed to right their language like the tax code. I'm pretty sure I can't get my head of household deduction for each house.

So you rationalize that the household limit is predicated on the number of houses owned? So apartment dwellers are SOL I guess. “Household” is not an ambiguous term in a governmental context. A husband and wife with 4 homes is one household.
This isn’t complicated. I fully understand that no one is checking on this at the mint
and way more orders get cancelled for crappy CC reasons than HHL violations. I’ve personally never tried to get something in the AM, but I don’t see any issues with getting your one whenever they are available. I don’t see why it would be an issue to purchase something that’s offered for sale.
