75th Gold 1 oz continues drop from high .. 2 PCGS 69s sold for $11,100 each .. while raw in 12,700 area.... going lower

    75th silver 1oz raw under $400 ... even down to 330-350 .....70s... 700 +

I wonder where the ASEs will stop. My one and only score came back a 69

I would expect the ASEs to be in the $200-250 range ultimately. If you look at the 100,000 mintage ASEs, they are $150 coins and have been for several years. 75,000 is not that scarce for an ASE and my earlier prediction was $250 and I'm sticking to it.

  • OnedollarnohollarOnedollarnohollar Posts: 2,035 ✭✭✭✭

Yep, saw a listing end at $300 so they're definitely getting more affordable for those that missed out on release day. The graded coins are holding in the $800 range for 70's and $500 for 69's right now. They also might drift downward. I've got my son's ASE in for grading now so we'll see where it lands by the time we get it back from our hosts. Hopefully a 70 of course. It may not be worth getting up early in the morning any more for the ASE I've been chasing. We'll see.

I have seen some of the Brits list the ASE's on ebay for sub $300. So they're out there already, though they do move fast.

The Brits? Why would they be cheaper? Isn't there an import duty if they bought these?

    FYI:
    1) The cutoff date for first strike for the AGE/ASE V75 was 12/7 with our host

    2) The cutoff date for first strike for the 24K 1/2 Oz gold and silver medal is 12/9 with our host

So unless you have “1)” above already postmarked going out to our host or still sealed, you missed the “First Strike” deadline. “2)” above is tomorrow...

Of course there were 6 V75 AGEs left when at least 8 people on this forum alone got them w at least one person getting 2.

There are two ways to qualify for FS.
    1) The package mailed to PCGS must be postmarked before or on the PCGS cutoff date for that particular coin/issue.
    2) Submit the coins in the original unopened shipping box from the U.S. Mint with a postmark date prior to the specified PCGS cutoff date.
    Source: https://www.pcgs.com/firststrike

If either condition is met, you are eligible for the FS designation.

    @BearlyHere
Yes, if you mailed just the coin -the postmark was 12/7 or before OR you mailed it in an unopened sealed mint package which was dated prior to the First Strike cutoff.

I guess I got my ASE in just in time, arrived Saturday. I wasn't aware of any cut off date because they were all released at the same time.

Are you surprised? This happens every time with mint products. The only difference is in the velocity of the drop.

Anyone buying these things for 5 figures is playing with fire in my opinion. Those that bought at issue price are "golden."

Watched a v75 ASE auction tick down to the end, not 1 bid with a starting bid of $350, it was raw and opened. I see these settling in the $200 dollar range in raw form soon. What goes up must come down, especially collectables that were just struck. Who's down for the Limited Edition 2020 Silver Proof Set, at $73 bucks an oz.?

:s $73 bucks an oz.? Yikes. But is that an introductory price soon to rise??? Don't you love how they try to make it more appealing by calling it a LIMITED EDITION SET ? Oooooh, it's limited!! Limited to 50,000. And just to remind you how much this went up....last year's cost $149.95

The latest PCGS FS 69 AGE sold for $10,200 (item#353304643292) and a PCGS FS 70 sold for $14k as a best offer on the sellers starting bid of $14k (item#133596139814). Not too bad in my opinion.

Actually the American Eagle 2020 One Ounce Gold Uncirculated Coin (20EH) which went on sale November 19th might be considered the last coin with the current reverse.
***However, the AGE V75 is the last proof version with the current reverse.

Actually there will be a release of coins in 2021 with the current reverse. Same goes for the silver eagle. There will be 2 releases for the gold and silver eagle next year, one in the first part of the year with the current design and one with the new design later in the year.

I stand corrected. I guess I should have been more specific. These are the last dated 2020. I forgot about the multiples coming in 2021.

I guess depends on how you look at it. Someone that paid $15k may have already taken a $5,000 haircut.

    Probably more next week.

I dont think anyway can complain about tripling or quadrupling their money on these. Anybody that got one from the Mint is "living their best life."
