One fun thing tonight…….it’s not new but just ran into this tonight while looking for something else.
Back in 2009 I opened up a website not just for talking and having show n tell like we do now. It also was informative as many great member wrote articles on the website. All these years later it’s still around but the forum is all but quite.
My husband and I were in Las Vegas one day back then and he heard me saying I would like to get a token made to advertise CoinsAreFun, which is still trade marked thank goodness……. He took my design and had one of the downtown vendors make this one. I completely forgot until tonight when i ran into this one. So,
I guess being one of one…. ….Its pretty rare

"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
So, at the anual Quad City Coin Show today, I kinda messed up... no... I messed up!
I made a quick pass of the floor checking for any of the 38 Merc's on my shopping list... no luck... then I came across a pretty descent 1856 $5 Gold piece... retail $670 and the dealer offered it to me for $550... It was really a bit more than what I wanted to spend on a non-merc... and a higher grade than I would have needed... so I didnt jump on it... instead I told him that I was going to take another look around the floor for a Merc, and If I didnt find one, that Id be back for it...
So about an hour later I finished that pass... still no Merc, so I headed back over to get the gold piece... but alas, I got there just in time to see a check pass to them for that coin to another buyer... Arg! Well... I took that as a lesson learned... and decided another one was to be found...
So I made my normal rounds and ended back over at that dealers, and we chatted about the incident... and he showed me another nice $5 gold, but of course not an 1856... so no sale. I explaned how it was a friends fault I was doing the 1856's... another long story... so he showed me an 1856 $1 Gold... a type 3... and in my grieving, quickly checked my shopping list and decided it would fill a slot... then I realized it wasnt slabbed... but they offered to send coins to PCGS for me so I thought this purchase would make me feel a bit better about missing out on the $5 gold...
So, enter a coin club friend... the dealer offered the $1 gold to me for $310... list is $325... and I asked if was ok to use a credit card... as he was him-hawing around, my friend blurted out that he had won a coin like this a while ago (which he did, but different date), and this caused the dealer to immediately agree to my card purchase... Gotta luv friends!
So here I am, feeling pretty good about the purchase, even though Id rather have had the one that got away, so I went to enter it into my inventory... and RATS! I had mis-read my list... I had one already!!!

between 9:45 and 11 .
That cud’s crazy looking, looks just like lips !
My IHC & FEC are in two sets of 3 Wayte Raymond coin boards. Both sets are in one album.
That way I can have a set A and B plus the varieties that are major can be included.
Im down to 5 holes to fill date and mint set of IHC.
I need to now go through, and list all values, rarities ,and varieties so to keep a record of the two sets.
I added another S.D. Childs & Co. to the collection: This one is Rarity 8
A fair amount of their tokens are rare but......they've made so many different types. I will never try
to get a collection of them....lol
Virtually impossible to take good images throughout the slab. So I have one showing it straight on
and the other slightly tilted to show the Deep mirrors.
Funny but the slab pictures are done with my new iPhone 11 plus. It works well but not for up close details as
it starts to blur.
Thank you to @USMarine6
