Nice coin... Welcome to the forums!
Thank you very much. I'm pretty happy with the coin; it is the first in my start to collecting up a basic set of Indian pennies that I think are pretty and in reasonably good condition.
This was just too good a price. My mother suffered through polio, falling ill1949-50 through my birth 1952 and survived until 1970. I have several ogp 3-coin sets and numerous 69’s dimes and dollar. While back set out to put together a slabbed 70 set. Here’s #1. The ms is very low mintage but not part of the 3-coin set. I plan on including ms and proof dollars

Yeah, just a few new pickups
I’m still searching for something that will hold and display these in.
I learned the last time that things only last a day or so on their site. Really looking forward to the WLH that they do. At about $7 per oz over spot they seem fairly priced for what you get.
The detail on these is amazing. I picked up some self-slabs that work (kind of) for all but the 2oz Peace. I have been told ANACS won't slab the 2's either. Maybe someday Lighthouse will make a thicker slab for coins like these. If anyone has an in there maybe they could make the suggestion.
"I'd like to cash these in for some freshly minted coins...."
Actually, these were never fully issued. A third signature would be required.
Heritage has only sold one other example of this note, one serial number away. This may very well be only the second and third known examples of this date, March, 1814. Fresh notes just sold from a Pennsylvania estate.
Don't let anyone tell you that the first U.S. Government issued paper money was issued during the Civil War. Millions of dollars worth of these 1812-15 U.S. Treasury notes were issued and in circulation. Today they are all rare, fully issued notes, extremely rare. Lowest denomination was $3, so they were used in relatively small transactions by ordinary people, but not over a long period of time. The first REGULARLY (and continuously) issued U.S. currency was issued during the Civil War.
I think that this pair (plate "C" and "D") were saved because of the written over mistake in dating. They were first dated Jan 1, 1814, before the law authorizing these was passed in March, 1814. A "5" was written over the "4", an alteration which may have called the notes validity into question, so different ones were issued in their place. The Heritage example, one serial number away, also bears this same written over date.
Collector and dealer in obsolete currency. Always buying all obsolete bank notes and scrip.
I don't collect Lincolns but I have always wanted on of those 55 DDO's.
My dad swears he put one in a gumball machine as a kid... right as he put it in the slot, he noticed the doubled numbers and thought it looked odd, then a gumball popped out.

Nice! I'm looking forward to filling that 1955 spot in my collection eventually as well.
Not a U.S. Coin, but I grabbed another Roman Constantius II coin today from my FLCS. The reverse is a soldier killing a fallen horseman. I've been doing a little research on another coin like this one that we bought not too long ago, but from a different mint.
And something rated as R7 But, I have not seen one come to auction or anywhere so I'm thinking it much rarer.
This one is reeded and brass. A 2 1/2 D Argentina gaming counter token.

Just received this today from a forum member:
Yesterday I made my first PCGS graded Lincoln purchase.
I have long wanted an example of my birth year DDO.
It joins my only other slabbed Lincoln, a 1972 DDO PCGS MS62 that I found while sorting through pennies in 1973.
https://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/gold/liberty-head-2-1-gold-major-sets/liberty-head-2-1-gold-basic-set-circulation-strikes-1840-1907-cac/alltimeset/268163
I don't collect Lincolns but I have always wanted on of those 55 DDO's.
My dad swears he put one in a gumball machine as a kid... right as he put it in the slot, he noticed the doubled numbers and thought it looked odd, then a gumball popped out.
Click on this link to see my ebay listings.
I know, it's not a coin, but silver seems too cheap right now.
I bought one today.
Great price! https://monumentmetals.com/pamp-suisse-kilo-silver-bar-new-w-assay.html
And no I do not work for this company, or have any affiliation with them.
If anyone is still interested, Bullion Exchanges still has these Pamps for the best price on the net.
