This one is going to show up today. Replaces a 64+ non-CAC in my Liberty Type set.
Nice!
Thanks. I decided on this one because it has one of the lowest pops for 1900's QE's and there are only 5 CAC graded higher. Many other 1900's have much higher pops.
You are correct on that, and the 1890's get really low fast! I have a beauty, but it's a 1906. Common date, but nice looking example at least and, it's got a bean.
@steviegetz said: @asheland that’s awesome, I’ve been looking for one of his spoons to add to my collection! I have a pretty nice collection of spoons going lol
Early silver is awesome. I have a few pieces myself.
Bought the raw 1911 Indian "pig rupee" for 45$ this past July from Canada, and it's not the most pristine example where the King is shown wearing a robe with a small elephant on it but one can make out the reason behind it getting the name.
This elephant was thought to resemble a pig with the trunk appearing to be a pig snout and the short legs not appearing very elephant-like. This offended the religious sensibilities of many, so most of the Rupees minted for 1911 were withheld from circulation and later melted. From 1912 onwards, the coins had a redesigned elephant.
Here is a new pickup. I posted it in the Spiel Tokens thread but thought to put her here too.
I think this was graded conservatively. Half Eagle Brass Sp. Marke- 11 Stars NGC MS62
1793 Strawberry Leaf Cent Gallery Mint Museum Store Card Pair - by Ron Landis & Joe Rust - Mintage: 10 each
I'm a big fan of the Gallery Mint. This pair is special because instead of pairing the obverse and reverse with a COPY stamp, the obverse and reverse are pair with the Gallery Mint Store Card die. My understanding from Ron is that just 10 of each were struck.
What's incredible about the Strawberry Leaf cent is that there are only 4 originals known and the finest is the Parmelee-Brand-Hansen specimen in PCGS VG10 BN. This is a coin where you can't get anything close with the real thing, so it's pretty amazing to have one created by Ron Landis and Joe Rust.
I also like Ron's RL initials at the bottom of the reverse

Great pair Stef! The CSNA puts together a great medal set!
Any idea who designed, sculpted and struck these?

.
I’m finding out little by little the many people that designed the medals and the mintages.
My heads a little confused now as I have 101 temp. So when I’m better and when I’m finished with the sea I publish everything I know about the CSNA and PCNS and a few other smaller groups.
Here are one CSNA silver medal mintage being 100 and a silver Northern California Numismatic coin Club. I'm going to guess its fairly low mintage on this one also as I always see the bronze but never silver version. Lastly is also silver round celebrating the Golden Gate.....love the musical notes "OPEN UP YOUR GOLDEN GATE"

Very nice penny! That is nice about your childhood, father, and grandfather. I have a similar enjoyment of Indian pennies because of my father, who liked them and also Mecury dimes.

Was reading an article where US silver coinage (including Morgan dollars) was melted to loan the silver to mint British Indian rupees and I again chanced upon another article https://www.dnaindia.com/analysis/column-the-pig-rupee-a-currency-controversy-2651497 about the following coin that left me very intrigued.

Picked this up at the flea market this morning for $7.00 on the flip. Why not.
Only a couple of bucks but I like it. The series runs from 1992 to 2001.
