Just got my 2020, to continue my collection.
Is that a mixture of proofs and bu strikes together? Interesting but still very cool 😎 👌 *edit: sorry it's been a long day lol..I can see that they're all proofs. Beautiful! Do you have the 2024 yet?
This is the only graded NGC Ultra Cam for 1912….. PCGS has only graded one PR66DCAM ..so a total of TWO coins graded Ultra Cameo/DCAM out of 700 minted.
Lovely 3 full logo reverse JM 10...my favorite bullion refinery to stack! I am a collector with a stackers mentality, if that makes any sense?...never pass on a good bullion deal or low mintage mint sealed JM'S, but coins are my true passion. Especially pre 33 and old world foreign gold coins. Love that bar though. Too bad it's not in the original mint sealed plastic but still a beauty..
I haven't been on the forums much lately, but have been purchasing coins regularly. I was assembling the Mercury set in the early 2000's, and should have bought the 1921 back then when it was much more affordable. I'm happy with this XF45 though, with its original surfaces and no distracting nicks or scratches. This and the 1916-D (if I ever get one) will be the only non-MS coins in the set.

My personal 'collecting grade' is XF45 and the surfaces & wear should look exactly like that. (I'm going with a slightly more golden tone in my set, but I love a steely gray!)
This one is a little bit of a departure from my recent pattern, but I'd wanted something like it for a long time. I don't think I'll need another Morgan dollar.

A couple of Classic Head $5's that I picked up at DWN. Park of Mark G's collection. An R5+ and an R6. Less than 20-30 exist raw and slabbed. Doug believes the N55CAC is probably one of the finest for the DM.
.
Just picked up a few Capped Bust Halves for a low grade date set. Went with a couple in the P45CAC R4/R4+'s from the Lane Brunner collection. Also a really cool 1809 III Edge in P35CAC.
.
@Twobitcollector I almost picked up a few of those. Pretty cool. Looks like there will be a number of them in the series. They already have the next two designs ready to go.

Picked up another CBH. She looked like her friends (the 1809, 1819, and 1826) so I had to take her too. Been having some luck lately finding quality coins to buy.

@pcgscacgold I wanted that 1826, but I was too slow and you beat me to it. Congratulations!
All of them are nice coins.

I've always liked "mercury" dimes and several years ago regularly collected them for a couple of years before I switched to commemoratives. But I was drawn back by this dime. It's graded MS 65FB and, while I do not think it's the prettiest of coins, nonetheless I enjoy it.

Nice vertical neckline die crack.
A Barber Quartet is made up of Nickels, Dimes, Quarters, and Halves.
@sedulous: I met a dealer @ the Tampa show that sells these. I think they’re attractive & something different. There’s good history involved & several (or more) types to choose from. I mainly collect Indians & flyers with nice toning; these can also tone as you can tell from the post. I’ve also noticed several forum members that have started to collect these. Here’s the dealer I mentioned above: @abbyme24; her company is Rising Sun Rarities. Check it out!

Thanks for the shoutout! They’re definitely unique and gaining popularity in the US. As you mentioned several forum members, many of whom don’t typically dabble outside of US coins, have been starting collections of them.
I actually recently posted a little write up about the granddaddy of Koban called the Oban:
@sedulous yes they are highly collectible but still relatively unknown within the US - I’ve seen people get some really good deals from LCS that didn’t know too much about them. Feel free to reach out if you want help identifying/appraising it.

Pretty happy with this latest purchase:
peacockcoins
AU50 O-109 R4+
I originally purchased this to flip, but it ended up being much nicer in hand with great luster.
Yeah it has an old dip, but it was well done, the re-toning is attractive, there is no residue and it cartwheels nicely.
So... it's kind of growing on me.

They'll say that it has slight rub from sitting in a bag for 80 years; AU58. But maybe "details," from the bag marks.

List as an MS uncirculated coin when I bought it recently…restored and graded a PR64.
True View….shows as an MS64 with a horrible photo…in my opinion. 😒
