Started an ANACS 1922-D Cent condition set. Picked up these 2 recently. You really have to give the coins inside a good look as ANACS grading seems to be all over the place!
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
Received these 3 today. The 42-D I had intended to break out and put in my gem Jefferson album but now that it's in-hand, I've changed my mind. It has gorgeous gold-purple toning and I didn't register the full steps when i bid. A tough coin to find but I'll find one eventually at a local show. The CAC'd Morgan solidifies my opinion that CAC'd coins have a little something extra and the Merc will upgrade a few sets.
Decided to go for the full Morgan rattler mm set and will need a little Doily horsepower to get me across the finish line.
I can't even imagine what the premium for that coin is... wow.
The story…found out it existed so went after it immediately. Dealer A just bought it and sold it “the day before” to dealer B. Dealer A wanted to handle with Dealer B who wouldn’t budge. I paid enough at this point for two dealers to be happy BUT it’s the only one known and it looks great so I’m happy.
This is a new discovery. It was purchased raw and certified at PCGS.

This one should be delivered on Saturday. I’ll get better pictures then. It’s a shame about the big scratch on the obv but it’s still an early date off center.

Hey folks! Long time no see (school & other hobbies have drawn me away from coins for the time being). I was at a Civil War monument and saw this at a gift shop. I'm not normally too interested in classic commemoratives (or giant replica coins) but the Stone Mountain design has always particularly intrigued me since I was little and saw classic commems for the first time on Google images. It was also much less expensive than a real one, and the detail and relief are nice.
I'm on a road trip to DC right now, I'm looking forward to seeing the Smithsonian's numismatic collection for the first time.

I broke loose from my sixth grade field trip group in 1983 to do just that. I caught hell afterward and of course in grown-up retrospect I recognize what a panic I put them all in by doing it, but I still treasure the memory of my quiet half hour gazing at those coins.

Paradime Coins posted their NEWPS yesterday from the Baltimore show. As usual, there are some really excellent choices. But this one already in their inventory “spoke” to me:

Are there no diagnostics to tell which year this is?
@FlyingAl have you seen this one before?
It's late twenties or early thirties. I don't believe there's a way to narrow it down to one year with the condition the coin is in.

I’m not a gold collector, but I simply could not pass on this one. I’m weak, weak I tell ya.

Fully understand why you couldn’t pass on that one. Great score for your collection.
Pretty tough pattern with only 6-7 known struck in Copper. Very pretty to boot!
It says half dollar twice, does that make it worth a dollar?
