My wife didn’t know what to get me for my birthday so she gave me some fiat money. I’ve never owned a silver Kruggerrand (water spot is on the plastic) I really like the design.

The longer I live the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice is it possible for an empire to rise without His aid? Benjamin Franklin

I was able to pick up the 1863 Judd-302 (Copper Nickel) and Judd-304 (Aluminum) recently. This complimented the 1863 Judd 301 (Bronze) I already had.
These are all Proof 1863 w/L Indian Cents. Not as famous as the 1864 w/L proofs, but definitely much scarcer. I doubt many collectors have been fortunate to own all three variants at the same time. The aluminum composition is one of just 3 known. Interestingly, these should not be considered true patterns as they were struck between 1869 and 1871. These should be considered Novodels.
J-301 Bronze - PF64BN (Photoseal)
J-302 Copper Nickel - PF64 (CAC & Photoseal) - The carbon flecks are way more noticeable in the pics than in hand.

Oh those crazy colonists while the mother country was distracted during the English Civil War!
Regardless of exact minting date - what a nice specimen!
