From David Lawrence website. Love the off center strike

I wonder why they called it an obverse misaligned die, when it appears to be fully off center?

Only one side of the coin, in this case the obverse, is off center. The reverse is normal. If it was an off center strike both sides of the coin would be equally off.

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

The reverse looks off center as well. That's why I said anything.

    Happy Birthday (to me)…..

I have one of these, but I couldn’t resist this beautiful key date! I’ll elaborate more on the 1909-S IHC in “Saturday Morning Coffee with Coins”.

    Ken, another beauty
    Is it your brithday???

@alaura22: yes Mike. I’m keeping a bit quiet about it as I’ve celebrated “too many” of these over the years!

I have purchased many mundane/lower value coins over the past few months but I'll post a couple of the nicer ones:

I actually had some difficulty fitting such a high grade coin as this into my Whitman Bookshelf album for SLQs.

Wow - love the variety here! @GAC - what's up with that medal? And how big is it?

Haven't had too many purchases this year, but this is on the way. 1711/2 Taler NGC 63

Its 77 MM so its a big one! This medal commemorates the Battle of Leipzig, which took place from October 16-19, 1813. This was a decisive battle during the Napoleonic Wars, known as the Battle of Nations, where the coalition of Austria, Prussia, Russia, and Sweden defeated Napoleon's forces. The surrounding figures on the medal are key leaders from these allied nations. This particular conflict was notable for being one of the largest and bloodiest battles in European history, with over 500,000 soldiers involved and around 90,000 casualties.

Also love yours as well, super nice color and great strike.
