Easy fix-search rolls yourself and you have a better chance to find one. But I think that Joey has the key.

The Key was getting new rolls in 2019 & 2020, as finding W's was like shooting fish in a barrel.. Now, as you have pointed-out, it's truly a hunters game as W's are few and far in-between! One will grow old waiting to find one in the wild..

Only twice have I ever gotten full boxes of BU coins, once in 2007, I got a BU box of Lincoln cents and just a few weeks ago a BU box of 2021-P cents. I wish I could order BU boxes of quarters from the bank, but they don't give you a choice, you get what comes in. I know that a lot of coin roll searchers think that searching BU rolls is very boring and it can be, but, I would love to get any current BU box of quarters to search for the errors, varieties and double dies and whatever.

Need Help!!
What toned this coin? This W has a very uniform light-goldish color tone. What would have caused this? Picked up CRHing

Reverse side, tone is on the left

Obverse side, tone is on the right

Just the tone one
!

Which would you keep?

Need a picture but for sure some PMD, during the minting process one side can not be blank, if it was an error there would be at least something on the blank face from the striking process - Right?????

i have a different double clash but haven't seen the dual chip/clash yet. i'm not the authority though.

did find my first tuskeege chip and it is a double with an additional die break line.

if someone wanted to put together a set starting in say, 2019 to date for quarters, it would probably be 3+ dozen different examples.

My favorite teller in the world was pulled out some rolls with beautiful enders for me and then the few customer rolls she had and then...
"Do you do bills?"
She pulls out the pile below...I bought them all
So I'll be doing my first post in currency shortly lol.

Check out the beautiful enders she grabbed for me!

Then these also beautiful mystery year(s) enders were waiting for me in the mailbox.
Yes, real deal vintage short rolls! I'm trying not to drool on them

I think that those 25 cent rolls were only used for a short time. Dates and mm's please? Congrats on those! and everything else. May you find many "W"s in there.

I would isolate that coin if I found it. (Thought that it is sneeze, but it’s a snot shot)

If I were to find a similar coin, what do I write to describe it accurately? I understand that pics are necessary, but I have to learn the language and syntax in context.

I gots to know.

not rare for sure. around 4k in the pcgs pops.

still a fun find and certainly worth pulling out. i bet prices for high-grade examples are respectable.

just like the 72 $1 type 2 rev. not rare but very popular.

There's certainly not much demand or folks paying high premiums it seems...but PCGS has it listed for $50 in MS64

I mean people buying them up at sweet premium prices...is not what seems to be happening at the moment. IMHO.

Here's a quick sold search on ebay https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=1989+wide+rim&_in_kw=1&_ex_kw=&_sacat=0&LH_Sold=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=15&_stpos=80232&_sargn=-1&saslc=1&_salic=1&_sop=1&_dmd=1&_ipg=240&LH_Complete=1

Looks like raw and ok they literally range from $1 (nice sellers  ) to $5 and some really beautiful raw ones are selling at right around $15
Notice just a few sold listings down the PCGS MS65 that sold for $57. Our host has it listed at $70 in MS65.
