In NY for turkey and a barmitzvah , coin show across the street from our hotel, popped in and got some things for our 7 year old YN nephew that just started liking old coins.

I agree with @Weiss....That figural fork is a real treasure...Hard to find in shops...as a matter of fact, I do not remember ever seeing one of those in thrift or antique shops around here....Cheers, RickO
A lot of that figural silver from the 1860's and 70's is very scare indeed! I love to add pieces to the collection but they tend to be very pricey! I paid 300 for it and feel ok at that level. In the heritage link, it brought almost 900 back in 2010.
If you find anything like that and the price is reasonable, I highly recommend that you pick it up!
@asheland ...Thanks for the information....As I said, I have not seen any...however, the thrift shops and antique malls will soon be flooded with stuff, so I will keep a watch for them....And will report any success I may encounter. Cheers, RickO
@asheland ...That is a nice kilo bar....I usually am not attracted to the large silver bars (liquidity issue), but that one really looks nice.... Good find, hope it was a good price as well....Cheers, RickO
This came in the mail today. I was not familiar with these until recently. Apparently there are several different scenes portrayed in the "America the Beautiful" series. I have always been a fan of the circus. Unfortunately...like most of the stuff I try to capture in a still of the moment...the pictures are lousy. Lol! It's got some nice color in hand. You'll just have to believe me!
Very nice ShadyDave. @Weiss. Do you mind me asking which reference book you used in this case?
Also, as I suspect you have more than one reference book on this subject, could you recommend one or two others that you feel are the most complete/helpful.
I'm casually interested, so I'd like to start with a couple of books.
@JohnnyCache
I actually googled it and found an older reference to it. Then I confirmed it with one of my reference books (The Book of Old Silver by Wyler).
Honestly, my first go-to is almost always google. Constantly updated and infinitely more comprehensive. Confirmation with a printed reference after is icing on the cake:

You're absolutely correct that google has become "The" source for all types of research and reference material but I find that I still cling to, even crave, holding a book in my hand. It's hard to shake a lifetime habit. I guess I have to keep re-training myself.
Not much today but a sterling cocktail fork and a montblanc pen which I believe to be a fake. Let me know what you think on the pen. It was $1 for the pair. The fork weighs 20 grams.

I like that poured bar, but that card/instagram handle is wrong - I was looking. That doesn't exist, it should be silverwolfbullion1776. Why he would have it wrong on that card is odd.

A couple of new arrivals. This guy makes these locally and sells them on Instagram. I got a poured loaf and round from him today.
Nice looking products, he takes this stuff seriously and want everyone to be happy when they buy from him.
My particular bars were made with melted Sunshine products.
