I agree @ricko! Eye appeal means more to me than anything. I have some AU coins that present like MS and they fit nicely in my collection.

I posted this on the coin forum as well, but I think It’s worth an encore presentation.
Just bought it this afternoon for my gold type set.

    Very nice addition!

Nothing much.. A little Sterling and an old Englehard bar I'd love to know more about

This one is only 22K, but is very well made and weighs in a 34 grams. I do have some 24K chains, nothing I would wear though. My ring is 24K, had it go out of round on my hand the other day from grabbing something, gladly it bends back easily.

  • Thanks for the response, it looks high purity and quite nice... The clasp kinda hints at the fact also.

Here are my last week's two silver Oz's I think the square Geiger is neat, it has a reeded edge and the other is cool too, from the Coeur D'alene Mines.

If you have a black light, the square Geiger will be fluorescent on the back. Pretty cool. I have a 20g one in a assay holder. Always wanted one because they are so cool.

I’ll post what happens with the black light later if I remember

@asheland I paid $125 for the bar which seems okay compared to what they are selling for (although I can't find one like it on ebay).. I sent pics to allengelhard.com also to ensure it's not counterfeit. It doesn't look it, but I like assurance like the 3 oz above..

--- and they just got back to me; authentic it is :)

You should be able to sell that 5oz engelhard for twice what you paid for it all day long...

Wow I didn’t know these old Engelhard bars are selling for so much. Better keep my eye out :)

Mostly quarters, these are $500 face value bags. They are going into segregated client storage.

  • Some may ask “why?” Others may ask “why not”...I didn’t have this and have some of its 1 ounce siblings, so I bought it.
