Thanks guys! The Cartier name certainly doesn't hurt. That's what made my decision to hold versus scrapping it. It has around 4.5 ozs in it. Not terribly valuable, but very cool for ten bucks!

Im a sucker for stuff like this. So far Ive saved around 200 ozt of "cool stuff" from the melter in the last two years. Tiffany & Co always has comes home, we use it to decorate the house. Many items are stored at work in a crate. Gladly we are looking to build/ buy outside of town a slightly larger house, should be able to display many more pieces. Our current house was built around 1895 and moved to its current foundation in 1943, part of the "war boom" at the time and is only 850 sq ft of living space. Not bad considering we bought it while we were still 20.
I have not had much luck at the thrift/antique shops lately.....still looking though... and holiday season coming up, so perhaps some old stuff will be 'unloaded'....Cheers, RickO
This will be the cheapest Morgan silver dollar ever to be sold.
I bought it at an estate sale in a box with tools in the garage for one whole quarter! They thought it was just a big casino token

Bought gold eagles listed in a non-bullion category to earn the ebay bonus bucks. Unethical?

One tradition we have in our house is that we buy an ornament for each other every year at Christmas and we open them on Christmas Eve and add it to our tree. My wife loves gorillas so I thought this year I would get her this silver round. I also bought one of the capsules that has a loop on top to add a hook so you can hang it on the tree.
That is an excellent picture... Reminds me of when I lived in Puerto Rico... I used to take pictures of the sunset (I lived on top of a high hill...good view of valley and ocean)...and also tried to catch the 'green flash'...Cheers, RickO
I agree with @Weiss....That figural fork is a real treasure...Hard to find in shops...as a matter of fact, I do not remember ever seeing one of those in thrift or antique shops around here....Cheers, RickO
