I saw that my local thrift store had some coin albums priced very expensively at 3.99 per book in the case. Nonetheless, I still looked through them and found that a couple had some coins in them and the rest were empty. The quarter book had 2 silver quarters and the dime book had 7 dimes. Wasn't expecting for there to be anything in them.
Around $8 for $22 worth of silver
Being in the books for so long, A couple coins have developed some interesting color.

That is great.... I was in a coin shop down south, and they had stacks of old albums... I did not look through them... Now I regret that... Cheers, RickO

I would guess that a coin shop would pull all the coins from the album. But you never know

Sometimes a dealer will pull the key and semi-key dates and sell the album with the rest of the coins as a starter set.

I picked up this neat 10ozer last week, still sealed in plastic with the old purchase receipt taped on it.
Purchased in 1990 for $78 bucks.

@cohodk.... At today's prices (and availablility), you did OK.... And if you get a deer with one or two of them, the profit is considerable. Cheers, RickO
Nice score! Neat mark too. 87.5% silver. Interestingly there isn’t much info on Soviet era silver. I tried to figure out more about it but couldn’t find much.

I saw that too. Not much info. Definitely an interesting piece. And my weight guess was really good. It’s 151 grams.
This might be a good place to post these and find out about them. I've had them for years. No idea where I got them. I do believe they are silver. No idea about they're function, purpose or origin. Maybe something to do with England, I see the Queen. Thanks for looking.

They’ve made those for years. Just ingots that are hallmarked.
@masscrew, if you got that off of the BST..great pickup…I saw it, but just bought a similar piece….was debating to add it any way, but was gone an hour later…love the coin!

I did get it from the BST, and I'm glad I got it in time. Still surprised it lasted as long as it did.. She is nice and probably the oldest gold I can afford. They get pretty pricey real fast as they get older.

Huh.
15 x 5.20 = 78
Hmmmm. Curious math for a 10 ounce bar of silver?
Liberty: Parent of Science & Industry
Silver was $4.92 an oz on 6/22/90. Looks like someone purchased 15oz @ $5.20 according to the receipt. Wonder what the other 5oz were?

Another SCORE!
I got a small group of silver for under $10, mostly scrap stuff, nothing worth mentioning specifically, but, there was this:
For fifty cents!
Top quality, probably 4 to 5 ozs, but, I didn’t even know this hallmark existed:
