I don't think they need to live or die with Jackson. Granted, he is an awesome weapon, but it was more than that. Do you think Wentz was injured going into the game? Or distracted? Something was wrong. I don't follow them close enough. What's your take on the offensive game plan?

The only reason is was as close as it was is because of the inept play by the Falcon's. Their coach is brain dead! I don't know how good Detroit is, but they won this week. They beat the Chargers, which I would have bet against. Could be a long year for the Eaglet's. But having all of your receivers will help. I still see nothing in Wentz.
It seems like Wentz just can't get back on track like he was before he tore his ACL. I hope he can get past the whole Nick Foles thing. They erected a statue of Foles because of that Super Bowl run, that has to eat away at Wentz a little bit. People forget that Wentz was the reason that the Eagles were in the position to make it to the Super Bowl to begin with. We will see, but I hope Wentz can get through all of the obstacles in the past.

Only if you're obviously blind to the fact that Carson Wentz had a 6.2 passer rating in the first half.

Hey stevek...you might want to consider asking Paul to renegotiate your wager for the "event" in Philly on Nov 17th.
I think Paul is a reasonable man and perhaps a small slice of humble pie, along with maybe a box of lobsters might persuade him to let you off the hook. After all, the way Brady is playing, it's highly likely he's gonna have a great day in Philly, and putting the Pariot's logo as your avatar on the board, along with ample teasing, will be like having a root canal without sedation.
Just trying to offer you an option to consider. Then again, you could go all nuclear, and make it double or nothing. This way you either get off the hook completely, or suffer a bit longer. I don't think you're in a tenable position.
Of course providing a couple of killer seats for the "event" might just do it too. Plenty of time to raid the 401k and show Paul and a friend (surely he wouldn't travel to Philly alone), the generosity of a rabid Philly fan.

Hahaha I like where your coming from Al, but if there is one guy who knows the value of a handshake deal it’s our very own SteveK. He will honor the bet no questions asked. And truly there are no guarantees in the NFL, either one of us could be the victim here. 🍻

When the Eagles were down 17-0 in the first game, I emailed Perkdog and offered him a PSA 9 1952 Mantle to buy out of the bet. He flatly refused, called me all sorts of dirty names, some I never even heard of before, ranting that he was extremely insulted by such a low offer. He angrily stated the price for the buy-out was a PSA 10 1952 Mantle. I was very close to doing it, but then the Eagles thankfully scored a touchdown, and went on to win the game. So I decided to just go ahead with the wager.

I was just a bit surprised that you didn't ask for the 1804 silver dollar? If the Eagles would have went to being down 24-0 in that game, I might have done it.
What do you think was going on with Wentz during this last game? Was it just a one-off thing with the throws? I admittedly don't sit down and watch entire Eagles games much but saw a good chunk of the last one. Watching him a little week 1 I saw a lot I liked. Week 2, without knowing too much about the week to week things, it seemed as though the offense looked "disjointed".
I would assume he feels a lot of pressure. What is your honest take on it?

edit: spelling
My take on it was that Wentz was coming off a long layoff, and hadn't even played in pre-season. I did agree with Doug Pederson as far as not playing Wentz in pre-season. That was wise.
But practice doesn't equate to a real game as we all know. No matter how much you practice, especially after a long layoff, your muscles are going to be sore for a while after the first game. My opinion is that Wentz was probably still a bit tight going into that game.
I think the Eagles would have won that game with no problem if DeSean Jackson hadn't gone out early with an injury. Despite that, the Eagles would have held on for the win if Pederson hadn't called that ill advised blitz which led to the Falcons winning touchdown. That was one of the worse defensive calls I've ever seen from an Eagles coach. I could do a dissertation on that one, why that call was so poor.
I thought that after Pederson won the Super Bowl, that he had a chance to eventually displace Bill Belichick, because of Belichick's age, as the best head coach today in the NFL. Sorry to say that Pederson still has a ways to go yet to achieve that honor, after making such a stupid call as he did with that blitz in a critical situation.
In any event, I think that Wentz will be fine for the Lions, and I'm expecting him to have an excellent game. That is if he's got any wide receivers left to throw to?
Didn't know he did. Are his comments still there? Any clue?
I just checked his most recent comments on his member page and nothing stood out, maybe one/some got deleted?
I would say they definitely got deleted if they were bannable comments. I’m just confused as to what the heck he could have gotten into on a quiet Wednesday Morning, none of the current threads going on now are embattled really 🤷♂️
Dimeman made a comment on September 14th on the tennis thread that was deleted and he got a warning from Todd about it, but I don't know what the comment was.
WOW, the dreaded RED BOX for Dimeman. Must have been a heavy duty post! I enjoyed his posts, have no clue what happened, but it appears something happened after the warning, if there was one.

I noticed Wentz' almost superhuman ability to make his face turn bright red in key moments during a game.
Unfortunately as a superpower that's pretty lame, and defensive opponents keying in on a QB with a
glow in the dark face probably helps them more than it helps Wentz.
I just saw that the Eagles are playing the Packers in Green Bay on Thursday. Ouch! This could be ugly.

No use rubbing it in, Dimeman. The Cowboys will have the division locked up by Thanksgiving.

On second thought, the Eagles could probably beat the Jets. The Bills would be a better match for them.

I was kind of surprised how good a passer their (Fish) backup QB was. He may do better than you think against the Eaglet's.
The thing about NFL Football is that a quarterback can make five good plays and three great plays. If he follows it up with a turnover, the previous eight plays don’t matter. We have learned that here in Tampa with Jamas Winston.
