Insecurity, and jealousy is a wast of your time and the space on our forum. So I'm not going to recognize any more pitiful :'( attempts to reach out for help with a LOL. HOWEVER, I hope you >:) continue to keep me "inside-your-mind" because I love the attention! Hopefully some smarts will rub off on you. ;)

An interesting thread. I used to post here a lot back around 2002-2006. Some of the names mentioned here are very familiar to me. I’m sorry to hear about Russ, though. Thanks to him I found an accented hair JFK. Whenever I see one I always think of him. I’d say I miss the Coinalot tales. My user ID at the time wasn’t one easily worked into the tales and I was probably not controversial/knowledgeable enough anyway.

But I’m back after a long absence and nice to catch up with where some of the folk are from back then.

    Did you mean Russ?

The Coinalot Tales sound very interesting. I'd love to know more about these.

Glad to have you back :)

I purchased some stained glass antique 19th-century collectables from him on eBay. Sorry to hear he passed away. I hope it was peaceful and he lived a long life.

Sadly, Russ passed away a few years ago. He was a great poster and an even better man.

I remember him spending 2c and 3c coins at face value to get people in his area interested in coins.

Thanks! I had a lot of fun back then. There was a member, I can’t remember who, who would write up a story using members as plot points. Usually he would highlight some of the silly arguments and such. I remember that he was into collecting Booker T Washington commems and some Philippine US coinage.

Lots of people with personality both then and now.

You’re thinking of “Clankeye”, another great poster and man. Here’s a link to one of his tales:

HaHa ! bushmaster8's bother probably had more alts than any forum member in history:

Gembens, Supercarcoins, Foxxy, Treebeard, Pawpaul, and half a dozen others I can't recall at the moment. He still has an active alt but very rarely posts.

Clankeye was a truly gifted writer. His Coinalot spoofs were invariably on target and hysterical. Bear tried to revive them, but never with the same aplomb. How could he (or anyone?)

I miss that kind of frolic. The Open Forum allowed for a lot of that (although, admittedly, smoe juvenile stuff).
