I promised a photo session for the "unseen ones" . . . . . . .
Some of these have been seen before, the larger silver pieces. I don't think I have posted the GMM copper pieces until now.
My poor photography skills when it comes to group photos shows in these.
First, the current Landis Studios larger format silver pieces with two vintage Gallery MInt Museum 1995 Hobo Medals (2 of 500 minted).
.
.
Then the GMM copper pieces I have acquired. The top row and center bottom have provenance of having gotten their "circulated" look by being pocket carried for several months by Ron Landis himself. Signed certificates came with those.
The lower right is a GMM "proof" issue, and the lower left sports a prominent die crack to the left of the date and through the plow.
.
.
.
.
Other than these, I have nearly a dozen of Ron's Renaissance Faire brass medals / tokens - most with his initials in the die.

2002 Original Hobo Nickel Society (OHNS) - 10th Anniversary - Gold, Silver, Copper - Ex. Don "H2O" Haley
Only 7 were struck in gold.
The annual OHNS hobo tokens for 2002 were unveiled at the FUN show and this year we are issuing the tokens in silver, copper and gold. The obverse pictures George Washington "Bo" Hughes, and the reverse OHNS' Steam Locomotive. The gold specimens were struck for prepaid orders... of which there were only seven. The dies were cut by Ron Landis. These are priced at $20 for the silver, $10 for the copper, and $30 for the pair.
2012 Original Hobo Nickel Society (OHNS) - 20th Anniversary - Gold, Silver, Copper - Ex. Don "H2O" Haley
Only 15 were struck in gold.
The annual OHNS hobo tokens for 2012 were struck barely in time for the 2012 FUN convention and this year we issued the tokens in copper, silver and gold. The obverse pictures an original modern carving by Mike Cirelli and the reverse an original modern carving by Ron Landis. The gold specimens were struck for prepaid orders... of which there were only fifteen. 130 of each non-gold metal were ordered. These are priced at $20 for the silver, $15 for the copper and $27.50 for the pair.

There are a few still left. There's a 1995 way down at the bottom of the page too. Click the LOAD MORE button to find it. A really interesting "off metal" strike as well.
I can't afford them all. Heck, not sure I can afford what I grabbed, but couldn't pass them up.
I could swear that I saw another large silver yesterday on the site. It had a profoundly double struck reverse. The description said that was common for drop hammer strikes.
Did you see it too or was I hallucinating?
Maybe Ron pulled it due to the strike doubling? Maybe it will reappear?

I didn't see that one but I was fumbling with checkout so I might have missed it. Hopefully it shows up again.
It was pretty difficult to see on my teeny tiny phone screen last night when I bought these, but the Ron Landis St. George & The Dragon piece offered a pleasant surprise this morning.
It, and the sailing ship Texas Renaissance Fair pieces, were both offered for sale as 1992 Texas Renaissance Fair medals. I thought they were alternate designs being sold the same year.
.
.
.
Closer inspection on my PC at work today, reveals that the St. George & The Dragon piece is really dated 1991 (MCMXCI).
How cool is that?
I am wondering, from the toning seen on both, if these both aren't silver strikes? Only the ship obverse strike mentions it being silver, but both are showing "1.5 ounces" . . . . . .

Great observation! I noticed that from the photos as well. Nice discovery!
I've actually been looking for these for years, ever since Joe Rust's daughter sold his copper set with 4 different sizes which I missed.

.
With all the middle of the night madness that occurred Tuesday evening and yesterday morning with items appearing, selling, then disappearing from the site, it was next to impossible to be patient to see "what came next" - hesitation equated to "loss."
And then trying to go back to archive images was even more frustrating. I never could find the example of that profoundly doubled reverse, but I am certain that it was on a 1992 silver, possibly misattributed as a 1993.
Anyway, this one is missing from the Landis Studios phoro archive, and locating photos in the cache on my phone was a challenge, but while this piece was on the site and visible, I was fortunate enough to acquire it as well.

A 1993 First Year of Issue GMMCommemorative Medal
..
Found the following on the Texas Renaissance pieces.
It would be great to find photos of this!
David E. Schenkman wrote in TAMS Journal, Vol.36 No.2, April 1996:
In 1990 Ron Landis and his partner, machinist Joe Rust, designed and built the "Royal Mint" at the Texas Renaissance Festival, near Houston. During the fall of 1991 and 1992 they gave demonstrations of engraving, hammered coining, and sixteenth century style milled coining - from raw material to the final product - at this water wheel powered "mint." Featured in the exhibit was a forty ton drop hammer press which was operated by the public as a hands-on demonstration. Another demonstration was of roller-milled coinage, during which give-away tokens were produced for the spectators. Typical of the medals produced by Landis for the Renaissance Festival is a copper piece depicting Columbus's ship, the Santa Maria, crossing the Atlantic Ocean. The date, 1992, appears in Roman numerals (MCMXCII). Queen Isabella's family crest and the shield of Spain appear on the reverse, along with the inscription TEXAS RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL CELEBRATING THE DISCOVERY 1492-1992. An interesting feature of the medal is the lettered edge which reads STRUCK ON THE KING'S COIN HAMMER." - The Gallery Mint and the Genius of Ron Landis
