I have to say - this game was packaged better than any game I have ever purchased! It was perfectly entombed in corrugated cardboard - pretty good for a game that I paid 9.99 for. Now to the game - it looks to have never been played. Strategy Manager Baseball - 1967 - Robert McGuffin. To start with - the cover is in great… -

Steve - Wiley may not be much to look at, but there is beauty in the fact that piece landed in your collection... what are the chances?! Ryan - Have I mentioned how great it is to have you back amongst the rest of us cardboard addicts? That Marchetti is simply stunning! Mike - Never heard of Winky Dink, I don't get to say… -

<< <i> << <i>Actually, it looks to me like the Mick swung and missed. The catcher's bare hand is covering up his glove, something he'd only do if the ball was in the glove. Dontcha think? >> I was thinking the same thing. It doesn't really have the appearance of a hit -- judging from everyone's positions or where they're… -

Here are my pickups from the Chicago Sun Times show. I decided to start a 1963 Fleer Set but SGC graded, I just think they look great in their holders. Here is some pickups for my 1971 Topps FB set, I also picked up a PSA 7's of Mercury Morris and Charlie Taylor. Beautiful T206 of Mathewson with some writing on back. A 69… -

A few new additions... Nothing huge, but nice... Albert (Joey) Belle: A beast both on and off the field. A a deplorable combination. If he acted more like Kirby Puckett and less like Jason Voorhees, he'd have been a 1st ballot HoFer. Joe Carter: A walk-off HR to win the 1993 World Series. It doesn't get more exciting than… -

Thanks Mike! More than anything I enjoy collecting cards of athletes who are intertwined with the history of their sport and have evolved into household names -- recognizable even by those who don't follow their respective sports. After quite a struggle I had to come to terms with the fact that the price of baseball,… -

While not contributing to this, my favorite thread, in some time... I have been playing along and home. packman - that Mathewson is gorgeous! If I collected baseball, no doubt I would be chasing that set... albeit in considerably lesser grades. smtjoy - that 1934 Exhibits 4-on-1 has some MAJOR star power on it. I am always… -

<< <i> << <i>I'm a big fan of the '87 Fleer Will Clark as I remember pulling a few at my local baseball card shop back when they were $20 (and I couldn't afford to buy one outright). >> Heh, the first "premium" card I ever bought was a 1987 Fleer Will Clark. I got it from the local card shop for about $35 back in 1990.…
